I got one two weeks ago. Couldn't be more happy. I'm really not a snob. My other OD pedal is a Boss OD1 from the 80's which i bought for like $25 like 15 years ago and i love it. But the TSV is a monster. I had the opportunity to play it next to the Duellist (excellent TS), a KTR and my old Boss. The Vemuram really has a sound so its own, very unique. That's how i made up my mind. If the pedal rings to you and you can afford it, just forget about the stupid price argument and get it!
@@suhsuh2324 it sounds thicker, more full bodied, but the Duellist has that glassy Stevie Ray sound... Unbelievable! I ended up getting the two. The Blues Braker side of the Duellist sounds amazing too, specially when stacked with te TS side. But, short story, the TSV is better at saturation and full articulation, while the duellist is thinner and much more mid focused. The best part, however, is stacking the singer side of the Duellist into the TSV.... match made in heaven. If i had to pick just one, it would be the Duellist, for it's amazing and clasy versatility. Like i said, the TSV has a unique character, a great one.
Same thing with me. I had a Blues Power, Duellist, mini Fuzz and then bought a TSV808 after realizing how much I loved the Jan Ray and the TS808 always being my favorite drive since 2001. I sold some of my King Tone to buy the TSV808 and the Myriad Fuzz, but then Duellist is really great too. I would keep all of them but I’m trying to be good and sell what I’m not playing.
@@jordandangelo180 it's always a hard task to come up with a definitive array of drive pedals haha. There are many available. But if you find yourself using one a lot more than the other, then it is best to sell it, although it hurts giving it away lol.
I compared this to my discontinued hardwire Cm2 pedal and to my ears the hardwire edged it out. If you get find one pick it up for around 50-60 bucks. Purchase or borrow one from a friend and do a comparison. I believe that the hardwire is a hidden gem type of pedal.
Does ist sound good? -> Yes Does it justify the price -> Hell No But rationalism in the guitar community has been long gone anyways. People will buy it and if Vemuram can charge this much and get away with it - good for them. If you could charge that much for something you sure would too. The brass casing used for grounding isn't anything particular special, but the choice of material surely is unique and looks damn cool!

On the velmurum why could they not just have a regular and fat switch ? Different chips and stuff maybe but I'm guessing they are just wanting to sell you two different pedals .
So the Vemuram is a Arion Tubeulator? I bought the Arion at a local guitar store used for around $50 dollars. If you are looking for the Vemuram maybe check out the Arion used if you don"t want to spend $550 US.
I wonder if they complained about the price of the tube screamer in the 80s or the gold box with the centaur on it or compared them to others now you wish you would have bought one this pedal will be like that think ahead
Damn nice pedal indeed. Tad outta my range as far as $$$$ but a working musician would most likely give this very serious consideration vs “the green box”. Nice job on demo/review.
The expensive one seems to make Henning want to keep on playing. And for short brief moments, seems to forget to even be, Henning :) EDIT: Dang I'm sold too! Thanks Henning, enjoyed it very much! Ibanez, eternal respect to you!

Enjoy life, preferably with good music and most of all with excellent equipment, as is the case with Vemuram pedals.
Me too. Same outlook! Love Vemuram and life is short and I want to get the most out of my guitar playing experience. When I was a mid in the 90’s I only had a Vox wah and a Dunlop Univibe which was awesome at the time but now that I am an adult with a good job I spend money on things I love and that is brass enclosed overdrives and fuzz pedals. The Josh Smith Myriad Fuzz is the best fuzz I’ve ever played and I’ve played and owned a ton.

I was impressed by how quiet it was but really not that much of a tone difference Better pedal of course but way too much money I think if they would have lowered the price they would have sold a ton of them and made the extra cash Oh well
Some honest words: No circuit design, no electronic component (even no matter how freaking rare it is) and no chassis material on this planet justifies a price like that. It is just ridiculous. What really upsets me about all this is the capitalism in all of that. Put the rational stuff aside. They know there's a hype. They know they can charge that amount of money and people will buy it anyway. Buyers know it themselves. They'll buy it anyway. It's just unbelievable.
but if people are paying that much, why wouldn’t they take that much? Wouldn’t you do the same? If your boss pays you way too much, would you tell him not to?
@@MrAngryTwinkie Agreed, these things have a value, too. Question is: Is look and perception worth THAT amount of money? Sure, everyone needs to define that for themselves.
One good thing about capitalism is that competing products exist, and you are free to buy them. Another good thing about capitalism is that you are free to work harder and improve your skills so that you can make more money, and buy expensive guitar pedals if you choose to.
Terrific sounding pedal Henning...but at 725$ Canadian, maybe not today. Hope this isn't the route indie pedal guys are going. I'll have to get a night job. Great review!

Mother Puss Bucket!!! That's a shed load of folding stuff for one pedal, as good as it may be above and beyond the competition, for most players it's out of range considering what you could buy in a modelling multi effect floor unit for the same money, but I know that's not the point, its because a pedal builder decided to build a Lamborghini and not a VW Beetle, it still gets you from A to B but in a lot more style, class and comfort. However as good as it is I'd rather stick with something like a Joyo Vintage Overdrive and keep €479 in my wallet, yes I would know the difference but the audiences I play to don't know a god damn thing about one or the other, and that's a big decider for me. and if I payed that much cash for a pedal to do just one thing I'd never be happy about it. Untill I win the lottery then you can forget everything I just said :-)

Then I'd have to pay to ship it back to them to fix their cheap crap. I had to make a video of it not working and they still wanted more info. Now it's an overpriced paperweight cause I won't give them anymore of my money. I bought the fd1 directly from them too. It also was my 10th pedal from them and had others die on me too. Had to replace the foot switches on 2 of them after a couple years. Haven't had to do that on any other pedal I've owned for more than twice the amount of time owned and played. I took it to my amp tech to fix and he couldn't even work on it. He said it's a throw away board inside, you can't even replace a diode or cap in it. Not saying this is any better cause I don't have any experience with it, but don't waste your money on fulltone
The Venuram definitely has a thicker sound . . more girth. I would pay the higher price if I could afford it. I would just do with out totally if I could not get the better one.
$450.00 US is insane. What is Ibanez thinking. No one is going to want to pay that compared to all the other options and it really is not that amazing sounding.

Curious what can happen when the power supply isn't secured to the chassis? Is that a common break point?
it isn’t a common break point... never had any problems, but I still don’t like to see that
If you accidentally step on it, you might break the circuit board.

It would be a much better pedal once they replace "Ibanez" with "Joyo", and move the decimal point one step to the left.

you can get that tone with volume and tone controls on that guitar .
