i know this video is 3 years old but im just seeing it today great video i have seen only one other video of someone doing some type of test with a medford other then cutting paper or a couple cuts in cardboard we need more like this.
@@DirkWerning this great I wish people made more videos like this it seems most people are buying new blades to take pictures and then be scared to use them so I glad to see you actually use your tools.
Does the lock fail at 3:54? I can't see it clearly, but it looks like the blade is at a 45-degree angle to the handle and then re-locks when you pull up on the handle. Can you please clarify?
These tests hurt to watch but I really appreciate you doing it to your knives. Seriously I live in California and can’t legally carry a fixed blade unless open carry but I hate open carry and I just love having a hard use damn near fixed blade like these on me. I’m trying to find a fighter flipper in 3v but can’t seem too.
I'm interested to see if the POW will have the same effect to your hand. No lie for some reason I'm getting bit by the Heeter bug... I was a fan of the fighter flipper first though, and that handle does looks ultra comfortable.
Now that's what I'm talking about. Someone who does a actual torture test on a pretty expensive knife and not just shelf queen it and say "it's a great knife". So glad I subbed
That’s fun. I honestly am not a fan of the heeters. Side by side you can clearly see the Medford is way more comfortable and better built. But I’m biased lol 😂. Can’t wait to see part 2!
Liking these torture tests. Takes balls to put an expensive knife through hell, but it really is nice to see. Have you considered spine whack tests as well? This is science, man, keep it going, lol.
@@DirkWerning PLEASE CONTINUE WITH THESE TEST VIDEOS. WE THE KNIFE COMMUNITY NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT'S LEGIT AND WHAT'S MARKETING. PLEASE TEST EMERSON KNIVES AND SPINE WHACK THEM IF POSSIBLE
That edge held up like a champ! Maybe I need to revise my thought that the heat treat on the Medford was good. This one had a lot less damage. Loving these tests! 🤘🏼🤘🏼

That looked like so much fun but I cringed! 😂 It's very interesting to see the results of a test like this performed on these expensive knives. Thank you!
The can test makes me pucker a bit. Lol. But I’m loving it. Those finger grooves and overly sharp jimping do look uncomfortable as hell. The back spacer looks pretty uncomfortable too.
Interesting results for sure. The Medford is the far more functional knife imo but maybe the Heeter has a bit better heat treat? Do you happen to know thickness behind the edge for both? Awesome test again man.
Thanks Pal
Really like these tests, keep them coming!
Damen0530 thanks.
Nice test !!! Thanks for all of this Dirk
Jérôme Tremblay just here to help.
nice to see how tough these tough knives really are. keep up the good work
Hooten Knives thanks I appreciate it.

Thanks. I did a Medford torture test also.

What an utter beat-down Dirk!!! Good honest review right here folks!!!
Well done good Sir.
Nick Senkovs thank you my friend.
And next week we have this slightly used MOW up for grabs 😂😂
iammimic79 🤔🤔 hahaha

Good eye. Yes it did fail at that point.
Now I did NOT have the grenade pin installed so it was just the lockbar.
Dam some nice blades that you put through the ringer.
Thanks.

I hear you about living in CA and some of the nonsensical rules we deal with.
Thanks for watching.

Which handle looks comfortable to you? I do have a POW 🤔

Alex’s Knifebox yep was fun to do again. Although the Heeter was actually painful to use.
Heeter vs Praetorian
Great that you do a comparison! That's a very very interesting series. 👍🏻 Please just don't drop em anymore! 🙂 👊🏻
Uwe Jäck gotta beat them up an. Lol.

whitelotus808 thanks man appreciate the feedback. May need to put some lock testing in the mix.

Badmunky EDC1 agreed LOTS less damage to the Heeter.
Love the Heeter. He makes some cool looking kit, just really hard to get one from him, even from within the US.
Desire 68 very true.
And I lucky just got on his new MOW build list!!!!
It looks a lot like a Medford
William Barlow there are similarities for sure
I know that they're made to do that but I couldn't do those things to such a beautiful knife
Garey Gerosky it wasn’t the easiest thing to do lol.

Who makes the heeter
William Barlow Todd Heeter is the maker.
That handle looks fucking ridiculous
And by that, I mean ridiculously unfitting of human hands

William Kerry yes it was pretty bad.

KnifeCursed I’ll have to measure.
Heeter MOW ...for sale 1/2 original price (barely used)
G Z 😂😂
This was not apples and apples two different knives. Apples to apples would be the MOW and the Petorian. I my humble opinion.
Not gonna argue that point.
Ouch! Price range I mean it looks ugly an uncomfortable compared to medfords. Send to Greg see what he says?
Deadpool Lee the MOW is in the $900 ish range. Greg is aware of Heeter knives.
@@DirkWerning I typed before realizing it wasn't a medford😬kind of new to the 1000 dollar knife community😀
Deadpool Lee all good.
Wow that thing is nasty. Love it
Jeff Washinski thanks.
