RULES: link.triplesga...
The object of the game is to be the first to player to move all ten pegs across the board and into the triangle opposite. The first player to occupy all 10 destination holes is the winner. Setup: Each player picks a color and puts the matching colored pegs in the corresponding triangle. In a two-player game, players must pick opposite triangles. In a 3 player game, players starting positions are every other triangle. In a 4-player game, players pick two opposing pairs of triangles. In a 6-player game all the triangles will be used.
Pick a player to go first, then play proceeds clockwise. On your turn you must move a single peg of your own color to an adjacent space or hop an adjacent peg to an empty space directly on the other side. You are allowed to string together multiple hops in one turn. You may hop any peg, including your own, so long as the hop is in a straight line, you may change directions after each hop. You may not hop to the side of a peg and you may not hop two pegs in one jump.
Pegs are never removed from the board and can move in any direction. However, once a peg has reached the opposite triangle, it may not be moved out of the triangle - only within the triangle. You may only land a peg in your own triangle and the triangle directly opposite you. You may hop through another triangle so long as you don’t end your turn in that triangle.
The first player to get all his pegs to the opposite triangle wins. If one or more of the holes in the destination triangle contain a peg belonging to another player, this does not prevent a player from winning. The game is simply won when all the available spots within the triangle are occupied with his pegs.
Great video! I loved playing this as a child but always wondered if I was playing by the rules. Turns out I was but I ink you have revealed three sneaky new tips for me. Thanks! Now - off to order my very own board. Cheers. 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it!
Me too! I love this game and now i want to start playing again
There is one important rule that was not introduced (which is frequently used by advance players). It is called a equal-distance hop. A pebble can jump over to the other side of another pebble with equal number of holes distance between the two sides of that other pebble . For example, suppose 12345 are five consecutive holes and 1 and 3 are filled with pebble . Then pebble at hole #1 can jump to hole #5. The jump between two adjacent pebbles are just one specific scenario of the equal distance jump where the number of holes between the center pebble is zero.
i think i got it, but why the rule? is the game too slow when u are more experienced??
@@Bruno-dv3ym well, experienced players will not only think how to get there, they will as well realise that opponents can use their pegs to for instance gain an advantage so they will try to move their pegs or put a new peg to stop their travel
But anyways a normal game is usually 10-35 minutes depends on the players
That's an optional rule. There are players who play without this rule.
@@henrychess3 And that is a great starting point.
Thank You , for the INSIGHT
I just got my first Chinese Checkers Game and had no clue how to play it. This tutorial was very helpful and quick, thank you 😊
Fun fact: Chinese Chinese was originally made in Germany in 1892 A.D., the game was originally called "Stern-Halma", sometime in the 1930's when Stern-Halma was sent to America it was called Chinese checkers.
Thank you. It's been a long time since I have played this game. I needed to go back over the rules because somebody asked me to play with them. You were very helpful.
I have my own Chinese Checkers but I have a different one which is meant for 2 to 3 players, not 2 to 6 players. Thanks for the rules you showed to me/us.
I immediately had to give this video a like. It was fast and also very explanatory. Highly Appreciated
I appreciate that!
I used to play this with my grandma when I was younger and lived with her. She passed away 2 months ago, but we would play this every morning and I never understood it until now :(
Succinct; love you for this! Six decades and a pandemic has me back at this game!
When my family plays it, we also had a rule about jumping. You could jump pieces separated by empty spaces by as many empty spaces between them. Meaning for example: you could jump a piece two spaces away and place your piece two spaces behind them. Of course, none of the other spaces could be occupied.
nice dude. you really laid it out concisely.
Beautifully taught. Short , crisp and understandable.
Thank you! This used to be my favourite game as a kid and when i saw it in the store today, i had to buy it! But i had forgotten how to play it.
Zoe Lee my mom never let me win😑
@@zjason646 lol
Hi, I also forgot. But I can't wait to play this game again!...............Milwaukee, WI
Great explanation! You cleared my doubts, plus your voice has a cool tone,. Right level. Thank you!
LLP
I loved to play this as a kid.
Surprisingly easy and fun to learn.
Excellent explanation, clear and to the point. Thank you!
That helped me so much. I never knew how to play Chinese checkers until I came across your video. Thank you so much.
Soo good video.explaned very good such a useful video this was also my mothers fav game
Great video. Very detailed. We are a family of 3 so good to know thought we had to play 2 each.
Very clear and concise explanation. Sir. Thank you.
This would be a custom rule I think, but it's possible to play 5 players in a fair way. If you labelled the 6 players A-F in clockwise order, in 5 player the F slot would be empty. B and D would have to move to each other's triangle. A would have to take C, C would have to take E, and E would have to take A. All of those are 2 places clockwise over. The only unfair bit would be that the player E wouldn't have anyone directly clockwise to them, so that side of the board may end up less dense with marbles. Since only E would really be passing over this empty triangle, they would either have a slight disadvantage or advantage compared to everyone else. If I'm off base or missed something, please let me know.
Thank you so much I had no idea how to play chinese checkers before I watched your video
This guy can win every single board game
This game is called "halma" here in Indonesia.
Halma can be played by two or three players.
The rules are mostly the same as the ones described here, but:
1. You can't hop through another triangle even once. You are permitted to hop to the "edge" of the white hexagon, though.
2. You can't move to the other side of your triangle if there are still any pegs of your opponent(s) in the triangle.
In a variant used in my family in Maluku Islands there is one additional rule: each player has one pegs marked by ink or pen as their king. The king can't move, only hop. And the king has to occupy the very last space of the opposing triangle; all the others can be anywhere.
It doesnt get easier than that. Great job. Thanks.
Remember, in a five player game the universe divides by zero instantly resets. For the sake of everything in existence please do not attempt this
You can't stop me
the universe resets when i play this with four other people?!
best vid ever u need more subs
Question. How many hops can you hop? And if you're not hopping how many times can you move in your turn?
We play it like this. Hops are unlimited , and everyone have on turn per round one single move or - multiple jumps if it's possible.
Sorry for late reply 😊
Thanks dear. You explained well.
My pleasure 😊
My grandpa used to play with me as a kid and I’m trying to teach my boys how to play so this tutorial was great for them. I still slay
So you only can move one space unless there's an oppirtunity for multiple jumps, right? I might've zoned out.
yes
Thxs a lot man, short and simple as Brandon said, thxs a lot :D
I grew up playing this super old one at my grandpas house in the 90s and now I’m trying to explain it to my 6 year old lol
Very nice explanation of how to play the game 😁
Good dam video. Short, simple and to the point.
nice video. For me 1 question remains. You see you may only land a peg in your triangle and the opposite triangle. However it is possible to have pegs of other players in your opposite triangle because you say that it does not stop you from winning when it happens. It seems to contradict. Can you explain please?
i think that would happen if the peg of the other color hasn’t moved
Thank you I bought a game for thanksgiving
I used to play this game a lot when I was a kid in China. It is a fun game, not intensive like chess or go.
Question, what do they call Chinese checkers in China?
@@robertmencl9169 We call it "jumping game"
@@zhengyunli800 thank you from. Other side of world
Thanks😁
Thak you, i inherited an old board and marbles.
Thank you so much
that's was so clear. thank you.
I PLAYED THIS GAME Yesterday.
I got a pack with alot of games like checkers chess, chinese checkers and more
I love chinese checkers, which was made in germany and which is almost nothing like checkers!
Sorry to mention that: it is the simple rule of Chinese checkers. When we play chinese checker, we follow the more advanced rule, and there will be more strategy involve and move quicker, the pace of the game is also accelerated. For example you can jump when there are multiple obstacles and more rules .
what if your the peg stuck, how do win
How do you start to move the pigs do use a dice and count and then take turns or how do you choose how to play it
We love playing against each other. Me, Alex, Mom, Nyleah, Vanna and Dad are playing/competing each other.
Omg I had one of thoses when I was 8 but it was in a wooden box that you can open and close and it's wooden little pegs that I stick into holes
I had the same but the box had like 8 different games in it
Chinese checkers are pretty easy xD, I have learned chess and checkers rn. I'll be finding more ^^
Are those supposed to be in same area? Or they can be separated in different places?
I miss playing this game, it's been years since I played it.
Thank you
you are welcome!
We grew up with the rule where you can jump over more than 1 peg if it's in a line.... Hubby just got triggered when he saw us play like this. Found this video to clear up the rules
For the longest time iv've had one of these in my house. Now I know.
But I don't know which way is clockwise
Nice video! Thanks!
So if an opponent marble can’t stay in you triangle how does that happen
he started there. You work to the triangle opposite you. He started there but never got out.
@@randyshopher7146 Makes sense. Thanks!!
I'm very good at playing this game!! And Chinese jumprope
Where did you buy this specific board?
If people play 3 player. Whitch of the other players triangle are you supposed to go to?
You can't i think
Ah yes, we have that game but haven't played it in quite a while, we mainly have just played two player, so it would be cool to also play it with more people.
Nice fast guide 👍
How do you get to the back of the triangle if there is no hops to go? Or do you win after all?
He explained it at the end
you can also move a piece one unit in any direction
Do you play this with dice?
So how does one start the game? With a dice or...?
Do: The Game of Life
Whenever you jump an opponent's marble do you take it off the board? Like regiluar chevkers?
Hahaha.
Im being ceral tho
No you do not remove it from the board.
@@TripleSGames
Oh okay ha! The goal maneuvering one end too the other.
It just clicked in my head.
Kool beanz Chhers!
thank you!
Next explain how to move the marbles in cribbage!
How can a peg of another colour be in the destination triangle preventing a player of winning? Players are not allowed to end their move into other player's triangle
If it is in its starting triangle because that player didn't remove it yet
@@TripleSGames thans
So if your own peg is trapped can you jump over all the opponents pegs?
only jump 1 at a t ime
I still don’t understand
Lol
Will M Lmao!
Nigga this is like the easiest game
😂
I want to know how do
you play ludo
Thanks
thank you
Did not specify how to end the game or to win if the opponents are occupying a space in the opposed triangle and you cannot get all yours in did not specify that you can remove their pieces with yours if there is no other move to make
That’s way more simple than I thought
why does the description say "Learn the rules to the board game Scrabble quickly and concisely" ???
Typo. Fixed. thanks!
@@TripleSGames holy crap you actually saw this. was not expecting that.
The object of the game is to be the first to player to move all ten pegs across the board and into the triangle opposite.
In Chinese Checkers, is a 5-player game legal or illegal? In a 5-player game, players start all the triangles except one.
8-Bit Emerald Enzo idk 0-0
I think a 5-player game is legal.
Wow to the point
The thing about the hop needing to be a straight line but changing direction after a hop confuses me.
if the pegs are never removed, does that mean that they can't be captured? 🤔
Yes
Is that board has a Star of David?
Great Game. A strong competitor of chess and go
So how does that yellow ball get out? The red marbles are forced to move?
Correct
This is checker, but more complicated.
I haven't played this game in forever
What happens if someone hops over do go back to the trinagle we came from
Those "pegs" look suspiciously like balls...
Me too i watch your scarbble
I liked it
what about a 5 player game
Hi friend help me how to play this games , i have chinese checkers pls me how to play , first time hold a chinese checkers , happy new year friend alwyas connect god bless
