Nice to see you back Chris. Some nice selections there. I was listening to Astrud with Stanley Turrentine a few months ago. It really is a beautiful listen. I agree. She does have a very distinctive voice. I really dig it. I appreciated the Exile shout-out when showing the great Let It Bleed. Exile is my go-to Stones album. But Let it Bleed, Sticky and Goats Head are right up there too. Thanks for sharing them all. Hope you are enjoying the endless summer 23~ Rob/Boston
Welcome back you are permitted short hiatuses, I think I'd like Deep Purple particularly the Jon Lord organ I've only really dabbled in the known ones alongside also Blackmore's night. You've got a nice tidy set up there by the looks of it and palm tree trying to get in on the act 😊
Welcome back good to see you back and right out of the gate you featured one of my favorite bands wishbone ash there's the rub is a fantastic album and Laurie wisefield was a fantastic addition to that band and chicken Shack are another band that I'm starting to dig they're Good and solo Glenn Hughes is great too hope to see more from you
@@TheVinylOrchard I love no smoke without fire and number the brave from the wisefield era but you can't deny the amazing and epic Argus you can't top that album
@@TheVinylOrchard those 2 I mentioned are much more harder rocking from the wisefield era just testing is good to hard to find in the wild but well worth it
Hi Chris another interesting informative video. I saw Andy Powells Wishbone Ash play at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne some years ago really enjoyed it, New England is an excellent record worth getting hold of if you see it. My favourite Stones record is Some Girls love the attitude on that LP. It'll be great to see Glen Hughes in concert doing the Purple songs, I do like his work on the first two Black Country Communion LPs. Cheers.
Thank yo7 for watching. Just bought New England yesterday and No Smoke too. Both enjoyable. I like Some Girls. Love Miss You. Looking forward to seeing GH in October. Cheers
Welcome back Chris. You've got us all wondering now which albums you purged. I've been trying to do the same recently without much success, but we've been moving house so it kind of felt essential. My memory is telling me that Christine McVie had some involvement with Chick Shack at some point down the line? Looks like you've fallen down a Purple/Hughes wormhole of late, good stuff. Cheers, James
A whole mishmash of stuff went went west. Lots of 80s nonsense like Scritti Politti, deacon Blue, that kind of stuff. Some second rate 70s like medicine Head, stealers wheel and the like. A fair bit of soul, Diana Ross etc,. Loads of CDs. Pretty much purged my entire collection of them. Mostly charity shop. Couldn’t be arsed to try and sell. Not losing interest in records but I recently painted my record room and had to move them all. Ridiculous number really and I don’t played 90% of them! I could get rid of loads but I’ve done that in the past and really regretted it. I dread moving. Haven’t done it for 26 yrs. But we will in the next 5 yrs. then I will probably purge a fair few Cheers fella, chris
@@TheVinylOrchard Ha, I remember you showing Cupid & Psyche by Scritti - even then you looked like you were wondering why you'd bought it. I love it myself, but it is very eighties. The trick to a successful purge is really trying to work out what is 'second-rate' in your collection. If I could properly nail that I'd be away, but I sometimes find I quite enjoy the second-rate!
Hi Chris, There's The Rub is actually my favourite Wishbone Ash album (even over Argus). Laurie Wisefield is a wonderful guitarist. I like Chicken Shack, but you don't see their albums out in the wild very much. Let It Bleed has tow of my favorite Stones numbers - Gimme Shelter and Midnight Rambler, but for me would have been improved by including Honky Tonk Women rather than Country Honk. Very nice to find a first press of the Purple. All the best... Pete
Enjoying that Stones Lp. They had an annoying habit of leaving singles off LPs. Out of their heads is a good example. Have just bought two more Laurie Wisefield era WA LPs. Enjoying those too. Cheers, Chris
Apologies for my crap pronouncing of Persephone
Per SEF A knee is the correct one I think

Thanks for watching Rob. Loved the rough edges of Exile. Rocks off has always been one of my favourite Stones songs

Change of venue to our back room. Deep Purple 68-75 is fairly essential but I’m biased

Cheers George. I think There’s the Rub may end up being in my top 3 Ash LPs. Loving it.

Will look out for those. Saw New England for £5 but passed. Love the debut too

I worry about purging as sometimes I do things on a whim. I played that SP Lp once. So most recent discards have been thought through
