Back in the day, when 3 good songs was a good cd and 4 or more made it a great cd... or your fave group made you wait 3-10 years for a new cd.... Band Maid just slaps you with a new cd every year that makes you realize all your favorite bands weren't so great, but that they were actually a bunch of slackers .....
Exactly! When l check out other bands l usually find a few songs l like but not enough to make me wanna go to their live or buy DVDs. This is not my favourite song cos it has the power metal vibe a bit which I'm not the huge fan of but still like it enough and I'd go to all their live shows if l could.

Growing up in the 50's and 60's you were limited to what was on the radio (and sometimes on TV) or when you went to the record store (most had a record player where you could listen to new 45's) and browsed the 45 bins or your friends recommendations. Now with a click you can listen to Mongolian metal, Japanese everything, French rock, etc. So far I've found that the deepest and widest range of rock/metal/whatever is coming from Japan and some of it is good, some unusual, some just blow your socks off and there's no end in sight. When I find a group that I really like, like Band-Maid, I buy their albums (all but one) to support the bands.
Totally agree, i was searching for a good all female hardrock or metal band, guess where i found it , a place i thought was quite patriarchal, now i know 2 or 3 all female bands from Japan i am following. Japanese top 10 metal songs in iTunes are by Lovebites and Babymetal 🤘🤟.
@@sherinjohn001 If you haven't already, look up Show-Ya (80s all-female heavy metal band) and Bridear (recent-ish all-female metal band). Then there's also Ironbunny, and while they aren't all-female, they do have the added bonus of a 'cyborg' guitarist. :)
Watching this band on their slow but steady climb from obscurity to notoriety has been fun to watch. And seeing them perform turned me from a fan into a fanatic. Band-Maid appears at Inkcarceration 2020 at the Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield on July 11th. This festival drew about 20,000 last year.
Im from South Carolina and one of the things I appreciate about y'all is that you break the southern closeminded stereotype. Most people would think that people from the south would say, "I ain't listening to no Japanese singing." But anyway, keep rocking.

Now days I listen to more foreign music because most of today's music in the USA SUCKS ASS!!! I don't even listen to music on the radio anymore. I mostly listen to J-metal, Scandinavian metal, and K-pop. (Yeah I know,, what a combination. But look at the metal shirts the k-pop gals wear in their videos! There is NOTHING sexier than an Asian gal with a Confederate flag shirt on)
Guys, enjoyed your reaction. Tony Visconti mixed The Dragon Cries from the new album. Visconti worked with Bowie and others and is a big time producer. Hopefully this will lead to more exposure in North America. Please keep posting your videos and spread the word about these girls.

I got my CD pack last week too! I pre-ordered it as soon as I got the notice on their page. I also added a Band Maid shirt to the order. Yes with the Asian CD's you get SO MUCH more than stuff here. When I go to my second home in the Philippines I have a list of stuff to buy in the music stores. I get a lot of things that are just not available here. Keep on rock'n guys!
Alot of people reacting to some of their music like to think everything could be an anime song. Honestly, I've listened to as much as I can find of them, this is the only song I can imagine being in an anime, as an opener. Great song.
This is more of an Anime Theme Song than their actual Anime Theme Song, 'Glory'. I wouldn't be surprised if this was picked up by an Anime as their Opening. It's also possibly the finest example of Power Pop ever! The way the lead flows into the vocal solos with almost feedback like tones harmonizing. Pure Awesome Sauce!

She couldn't read drum scores and hadn't learned any theory until recently. She found and learned all of the music she plays by herself (not through family or friends) which makes her even more impressive. I was curious to see your review as I've seen other BM videos. Thanks for the review. Unquestionably the girls are super talented and that is obvious and their following is huge. They seem to have carved out a style all their own and pretty distinctive. That being said, I think their style isn't my cup of tea and maybe the language is a barrier for me as I can't see them making my play list. My playlist is mostly The Warning with a smattering of odd balls. For example Barns Courtney-Fire, Amber Run-Neon Circus, JD Macpherson-Lucky Penny. You guys are old school rock and roll right? Well, have I got a treat for you from the young generation paying homage. Motion Device - A Piece of Rock and Roll (Two sisters and brother on drums) and this 5 member group is from Canada. This track reminds me of a progressive rock song. You need to listen to it several times to hear the structure of the music and the different parts which are played. The more you listen, the more you hear. My view only but I don't enjoy the sampled drum pattern which is mercifully short and Saiki's voice does not require any electronic tweaking. Depending how much backing they use, I hope the live version will not have tweaks to the vocals. Thanks for your reaction.
Love your reviews. Please do a review on the group Ningen Isu and the song is Heartless Scat. There are both the live and official videos. The group is gaining momentum on YT and have been called Japanese Black Sabbath. BTW, they have been doing this for 30+ years and released 20+ albums.

I was the best man to my friend's wedding in Germany. I bought an Amazon Fire to take with me. I downloaded Microsoft translate. What took me by surprise was I was able to take a photo of a street sign, or candy wrapper, and Microsoft translate translated that picture with German words in it. I think you might be able to do it with your magazine there. I wouldn't try a full sentence. I tried to do that for my best man speech and my buddy's nephew said it was all wrong.

The odd thing about that version of the CD is that other than the plastic cover, it doesn't have a track listing on it anywhere. I guess the idea is that you keep the plastic cover.

Yeah, I hardly listen to terrestrial radio anymore. I come home watch few reaction Videos and follow the YT recommendations.
