Right so basically these are stainless steel or food grade plastic dehumidifiers combined with varying degrees of reverse osmosis filtration and mineralization.
I believe I discovered or invented a better design, but even then, it’s a very niche use-case and otherwise not competitive with commonly known methods of obtaining fresh water.
It's interesting re: the indoor office-type or home type harvesters. Usually you need to provide 60-90F and 30-80RH. I imagine most climate controlled offices at least in Europe and North America could easily satisfy the temperature aspect, but the RH? If so, I would imagine they are on the very low end of the desired range and so the actual amount harvested would likely be notably less than the optimal capacity. So, if you're running one in a minor/medium SHTF event, it would need to be able to be powered by a solar charged system and run outside. Not undoable, but winter time, American southwest, etc would be challenging paces to get what you need consistently. You can store during the more humid periods but that of course introduces its own health, logistical and storage challenges.
Moses West makes water with efficiency 0.08 kwh/liter. He claims that he could better, about 0.05 kwh/liter. The larger the aggregate the better the efficiency
