    I appreciate the clarity, pace and calming speech of our chef in the video. Makes it easy to follow along. Keep calm and bake on. "A of bottle of rum left.., No bad really!" Adobs!

      Yep you can I am from USA. Doesn't matter we use corn syrup an brown sugar. Dark or light either one.

    I'm not a fan of pecan pie, i love sweets, but this pie is way too sweet. I felt like I was tasting sugar custard.

    That's not American Pecan Pie, that's Stupendous Pecan Pie. Wow...what a recipe, and chock full of nuts. What can we do if we have a hard time finding golden syrup? Is that close to white syrup we have in the States?

      Here in the USA we use corn syrup light or dark doesn't matter.
      I only use brown sugar, an corn syrup not all these other sugars.
      I use a cup of each 3 eggs. Only enough butter to melt sugar.. Two tablespoons
      Melt the brown sugar in the butter cool down then add eggs & syrup. If you don't have corn syrup you can use pancake syrup. Its just to get the sugar from cooking hard as a rock.:)
      Then add to our filling an bake about 45 mins.

      +Vince Amato Hi Vince, for the filling you need four types of sugar: maple syrup,golden syrup, golden caster sugar and brown sugar. Does that help?

      Dark corn syrup is the goldern syrup, caster sugar is brown suger - when I make mine it is 3/4 brown sugar and 3/4 white sugar, with 1 1/2 cups corn syrup and 5 eggs, vanilla. I think adding a few tablespoons of maple syrup and some liquor might make it even more yummy
