This is a great dark sound. I love it!

I want to try the HR one, would loved to have heard you play on one as well.

The differences are pretty subtle and subjective between the gold and HR versions - perhaps a little warmer, and the higher beak on the HR version is more comfortable if coming from a traditional HR piece. Not sure how well the differences come across in a recording though - check out the Gaia IV demo

Lovely sound and performance, thank you for sharing! What reed worked best for you in this piece? I have a 7* and am still searching for the best reed match. This is for jazz, by th way, not rock or funk.

I play the same Rigotti Wild 3.5 on all of our pieces, for jazz and commercial playing both. I wouldn’t say this or other models are particularly reed-specific, and others play a wide variety of cuts and brands, but I personally like the Rigottis (standard blue box Jazz reeds are great too). The only thing I’d say is that Vandorens in general tend to have a more rounded tip profile than our pieces- doesn’t mean they can’t still work, but just something to be aware of

Does the rubber model come with a literature and why doesn’t it have the same literature as the steel?

Sounds like this is on the dark side, but the Ambika is still the darkest, yes?

Brahma slots in between Gaia and Durga in terms of brightness, but more focused core sound than either due to chamber design. Ambika is darkest with largest chamber

I’d say it’s slightly brighter than the Lakshmi. Beautiful, full sound with a tasteful dollop of tang on the back end. Like cheesecake. Can’t wait to try it ❤

Love the sound of Brahma. What is the difference between Brahma and Ambika? Comparison Brahma vs Amibika IV?

I have ambika3 and I am waiting for brahma. ambika is excellent in sound production, comfortable, very warm and soft sound, sometimes I need a brighter sound and therefore I ordered a brahma. but I really love ambika 3.

@@pavelkuts6239 You want Bright get the DURGA 5.

brahma gets brighter sound, not quite as bright as the durga or especially the shiva.
Ambika is the darkest mouthpiece, so it'll go great for vintage or small jazz.
