I realized my hubcap was about to get damaged using the end of my lug tool to remove it when I decided to go to RUclips. I'm always seeking out the shortest videos so yours was perfect and in less than 2 seconds after watching your video I removed my hubcap. Thanks.
Thank you for letting me know that I DON'T need a crowbar or screwdriver to remove my wheel cover that mysteriously ended up covering the valve stem. One of the places I took it for maintenance had to have done it. I was stunned to see it covered when I went to air up the tires a few days ago.
Turned what I thought was going to be a job involving at least one tool and 10 minutes into a 2-minute task I could do by hand in the rain! Thank you!!!
thanks a lot mate. you saved my life. I had a flat tire on my way to work and I was stuck at this step then after watching your video my task was made easier
Great advice/youtube post.....I was able to remove the wheel covers on my 2016 Citroen Berlingo van using my gloved hands, in a star pattern, successfully. One less tool to buy as a result!
Thank you for this! I was struggling to pry off my wheel covers (my tires need air but the covers were too tight against the valve stems). After watching this, I popped both covers off and aired up my tires in a few minutes. You saved the day!
Thanks. I come from an era when wheelcovers were made of metal. And the way you showed first is exactly how it says to do it in the manual. I guess they want you to break them so you'll have to buy a replacement. Thanks again.
Life saver, iv done it so many times before but this morning tge brain was blank, so my go to place for everything I need to learn put me right. Thank you xx
Thank you so much, my car was making a little noise and I figured it was coming from the tire area- turns out the hubcap wasn't properly placed. Fixed it thanks to this video!
Thank you! Your instructions are clear and concise. No unnecessary information. Just what I needed! One of my hubcaps was cracked, and I bought a new set, then I was stumped. You've saved me!
Thanks bro! Was trying to get air in my tire and hubcap was in the way and got it off in 2 seconds with your video. Low tire pressure light is finally off! 😂
Thank you for these instructions - I wanted to put air into my tires and noticed that some genius mechanic had covered one of the air valve stems with the hubcap 🙄 I wasn't sure if there was a "trick" to remove the hubcap, so before running the risk of breaking it, I googled the issue and watched your video while sitting next to the wheel. I did have to use a flat piece of metal to widen the gaps all around the hubcap - only then was I able to yank it off. Everything worked out great - thank you again! 🙏🏼😊
@4seasonspix - That same thing happened to me. I know it had to have happened after May 2023, because I checked the tires before I headed across the state. Oddly enough, I ended up with a flat left rear tire a few hours after I got to my destination. Roadside Assistance showed up, I opened my trunk to get the Tempa Spare, only to see it shredded (must have popped somehow). The left rear tire was replaced the next day. Then about a month or so later, I got another new tire and wheel for the right rear, and made the older right rear my spare tire. No more Tempa Spares for me, don't care if the full sized spare takes up more room. Since only the rear tires were replaced, I don't know how my FRONT RIGHT valve stem ended up covered by the wheel cover, unless the guys at the oil change place did it in September. Why they needed to take it off in the first place stumps me, since I was able to access that valve stem in May. My wheel covers are the originals on a 17 year old car, so I'm won't be too broken up over cracking the one on the front right to get to the valve stem. They're pretty brittle at this point and have a few cracks already. Couldn't believe what I saw when I went to air up the tires the other day. Just kept wondering: "When the hell did this happen?" I was wondering it I'd just need a screwdriver or a crowbar to pop it off. Now I see I just need a pair of gloves so I don't get all that road grime/brake dust one my hands.
Thanks so much...when you started, I was like crap. I hope I don't break it..then you grabbed it and pulled off and took it to a whole new level. Had to change a tire this evening and that was the part I worried about
Thanks for the video. I needed a wee bit of coaching. Had to remove the hubcap cover and take mom's wheel off her 08 cobalt. did it smoothly after watching this
I have seen so many sadly cracked and broken hubcaps or cars with only 2 or 3 instead of 4. I just got a flat...and felt like a fool writing, "how do I safely remove a hubcap?" in the youtube search engine. Thank you for your help.
thanks for this video, nice and simple and to the point. After watching this, no problem removing wheel cover and putting back on my Nissan 2006 Sentra.
I've been trying to figure that out to make the part of wheel behind it look more acceptable....which is fairly easy to do once the top cover is removed.....thank you so much, I can"t wait to do it now that I know how.
xD I had a lil difficulty putting my caps on/removing them, but wow..... damn... it's so freaking easy. In 2 mins, I can see how someone can just steal my hubcaps, using just their bare hands- just like me!
This is what I need to do for my front left side plastic wheel hub. Thank you heaps. Your tutorial is straight to the point no complications. I need to do this for my MAZDA 2 NEO SPORTS. GO MAZDASPEED..................
Thank you for this! I have to admit the first part of your video made me groan with fear of her breaking it but when I saw the second part I just reached in with one hand it instantly pulled it off. LOL
Thanks for the upload. I have a factory original cap for my wheel but the rim was replaced at Firestone and the cap is now fitting on loosely. The rim is likely not a factory original? I didn’t know that the rim needs to be factory original for the cap to fit on it. I’ve got a tire package warranty with Firestone I don’t want to mess up and I already paid for wheel alignment. Can you suggest what my options are?
Thank you. The spaces on my Smart car hubcaps are too small, but I used a screwdriver to pry them off enough to grab. (I'm the lady and "man" of my house. lol.)
I know you put this video up like 7 years ago and have moved on in life, but it was very helpful.
I know your comment is also 3 ye old but I just wanna know how are you doing in life

One of the most straightforward DIY videos I've ever watched.
Just went straight to the point. No jokes, no filler, just the required info.
We need more videos like this.
Thank you so much for your clear, clever, concise instructions. I've always struggled getting hub caps off. Now I feel empowered! 🙂

Perfect. Popped my tire and was about to smash the hubcap until I remembered youtube. Thabks man
Thank you for not doing some dumb intro and getting right to the point. Wish all RUclips videos were like this!

Finally a video that doesn't show how to break wheel cover.
Thanks. I come from an era when wheelcovers were made of metal. And the way you showed first is exactly how it says to do it in the manual. I guess they want you to break them so you'll have to buy a replacement. Thanks again.
Genious! After viewing videos involving heat, removing the wheel, special tools, and no instructions at all, I had mine off in 5 minutes. Thanks!
Life saver, iv done it so many times before but this morning tge brain was blank, so my go to place for everything I need to learn put me right. Thank you xx
Watched this with my family and i stuck on the side of the highway in a rental car, youre a lifesaver
Wholy CRAP!!! Thank you for sharing your methods!!!!! Saved me you have.

I checked O’Reilly Auto Parts for the tool to remove wheel covers...$59!!! Wheel covers only cost $30. So thanks for this video! Saving people money!
@laureldavis500 - Wow, nice to know that all this time, you had the "tools" required right at the ends of your arms!

Many thanks !!! The cover came off with one pull.
Tip: Hold a rag in your hand so your hands do not get dirty.
Or use gloves.
@@teammmx That's what I'll be doing.
Thanks for the easy tutorial man
Thanks for the video. I needed a wee bit of coaching. Had to remove the hubcap cover and take mom's wheel off her 08 cobalt. did it smoothly after watching this

@ernestd2642 -- Exactly! I've been grateful for RUclips videos and their creators many times to help me solve a problem.
