Haven’t seen a war cry like this in a long time. So much heart and passion for these boys to play for their beloved country!! What a game!
I have alway love watching Pacific islanders ( New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa, Cook island) perform their war cry. It shows Not only part of their beutifull and colourfull, but also a warriors culture in rugby. Isn't it?
Yeah it’s cool not seeing 50 white guys do it. And I’m a white guy
🍝🗿
Soccer, you mean football, Modric is class
That's not a war cry its a sipi tau and siva tau

This was the best showing of each islands war cry to date by alternating between each other. Its as if they have been practicing this for a while. This was epic.
It is part of Polynesian culture and traditions

🍝🇮🇹
This is how it traditionally used to be done between two war parties.
The Samoa captain Junior Paulo suggested it in the pre-match coin toss. His partner is Tongan. As much as it's all very confrontational, he thought it'd be good for unity.
Who would have thought that the descendants of two brothers would be playing each other in the rugby world 🌎 cup . ♥️🇼🇸 🇦🇸 🇹🇴 ♥️
Exactly 💯 son's of Tagaloa 💪

This game had the adrenaline pumping more than the UFC!
Junior Paulo, Samoa's captain: “When we headed out to the coin toss there was talks about who was going to go first"
“I just spoke to Jase (Taumalolo) and threw the question out there if we wanted to do it together thinking it’s a good sign of unity between the two nations and the support over rugby league in general."
“It’s a really proud moment, for myself too, my partner’s Tongan and my kids are half and half so it’s always going to be a tough conversation about who to support."
“But I think that’s the best thing about celebrating both cultures.”
Wow that’s amazing! Is there a link to this interview? Or a clip of him saying this?
If You Were Watching Live. This Was Heart Pump From Start To The End Off The Game

So awesome....great clean rivalry and proud display of their culture on the world stage....I just wished that the Fijian team had the same love for their culture.
Thanks Samoa and Tonga.
I was at the game and it was great to experience a different culture having only really been to Super League matches
World stage? RLWC is a Joke.
Excellent display I’ve seen between the two nations. You can feel the intensity in the air when they’re both at it. The game was great but the pre game ritual was better in my opinion.
The Fijian hymn singing is quite different. The whole stadium gets filled with their melodious vocals. Moving.. It’s pure magic! I’d encourage them to keep it. It makes the Batis different to their pre game ritual in rugby union.
Nothing wrong with the Fijian hymn, actually is a great reflection of the people as a whole.
@@Primal-Weed Denial doesn't change the fact that it is on the world stage. Thankfully the IRLF isn't in the hands of narrow minded fools like you or the game would never grow.

As a black woman I feel like crying. 🤍 I remember meeting native Hawaiians and they said how I looked like their ancestors and we both started crying. @@cascade3769 just like jo
@@cascade3769 considering England's first training squad was named back in March and final 24 man squad announced late September, they better win against Samoa who have had no prior preparations, no warm up or anything prior to game 1 and have used the 4 games to improve and gel as a team. How embarrassing it will be if England lose and even more earth shattering once the world knows that Samoa didn't have any preparation and played as a new team for the first time in game 1 vs a team that's been in training camp for months.
@@zion8614 I don't think you can use "embarrassing" and "England" in the same sentence. Of course, people expected Samoa to be rusty and lacking cohesion- but they got smashed by a side who has never won a World Cup. Losing by that score was unacceptable; regardless of the situation.
@@cascade3769 people did not expect Samoa to be clunky and all over the place, in fact they were favourites going into game 1 because of the 8 grand finalists named in the squad. Samoa hasn't won a world cup either so I don't get where you're coming from. England have 5 super league grand finalist in the team & 6 nrl players, coupled with months of preparation. With 3 of the 8 Samoan grand finalists injured, it's evened out with 5 grand finalists on each side. England is rank 3rd in the world & Samoa 7th. Don't get me wrong, England deserved the win in game 1 & we admit they were the better team. Though Samoa is peaking at the right time, there's still a lot to work on but if they're able to get the win with only 4 weeks under their belt, why wouldn't it be embarrassing for the world cup hosts who've been training for months ? If anything England should be the one to win with all the preparations they've made. This is the gap between coaching ability & preparation. It will boil down to whether Samoa can close this gap & prove critics wrong otherwise England will win.
So raw and primitive. I love it 🙌🏼
Needs to be a fixture played every year, two teams with little between them, one of the games that can grow international rugby league
As a Tongan and samoan I see this so cool as they play against each other but in the end we are all brothers🇹🇴🇼🇸🤙
