what a treat! every woman rolled their eyes when you said, "there's no directions about building a pig port. Who needs directions?" The pig port is fantastic, and even I - on 1/4 acre with a moderate sized house - can find a spot for one. And the drying rack will be a wonderful treat when the garlic and onions start coming in! Well done Jason, and yes - ending the day in the garden with family is a wonderful end to every day. Thank you for sharing.

"I don't have time to watch RUclips (to learn how to do something)!" - The irony couldn't be stronger:-)
Great to see everyone helping out at the Hollar Homestead and like you said, that is your community!
    Yes to rain barrels!

I truly believe there is no end to your building skills. You did a fantastic job on the drying rack today. You need to draw up plans and have them in your store. I got the green house plans for $5.00. It was a bargain for me. Someday if I get land, I will definitely get your garden cart plans.

Rain comes off the end of the carports. The ridges run horizontal keeping the water from going down the sides. Look at catching water off the low side and directing it away.

I am a certified pig shelter drain inspector and you cannot drill into the gutter without a permit. Other than that not bad. The beans, lean them on the trellis and give them lots of water. thanks for this.

It’s looking good. Great thing you can experiment on someone else’s pig shelter, lol.
To help divert rainwater even more, you could put triangle brackets on the shelter posts and attach a outward sloping board..that might also be a better point to attach the gutter.

  • @Jane_under_a_tree_with_a_book

Just wondering if it would be worth having a barrel to collect the rain off the roof - like that set up you have at your place outside your greenhouse. The water would then be on site for the pigs when it rained.
