@@lifeofdariius IIRC, a mysterious looking book that came into play somehow on the beach (I don't recall exactly how, and couldn't see it in this edited/ copyright blinded version) was actually a real book on Indian philosophy, and George was immediately intrigued - his first exposure to Eastern spirituality and Indian culture that in turn led to so much interest in it in the West, with its effects including in music and the popularity of yoga and meditation.

60th Anniversary of HELP coming next year. Original movie release date - August 25, 1965. I was 10-yrs-old then & my friends & I went to the theater for the first showing at 10am!! We didn't leave the theater until after the third showing, when we all had to get home for dinner. We loved it THAT much, maybe more, & the fact that so much didn't make sense made it that much more fun!!! And the music can't be beat. Wish I could spend that day again!! 😍😍😍😍

Victor Spinetti who played a part in Hard Days Night and a scientist in help, also was in the Beatles third movie Magical Mystery Tour. Victor Spinetti played the stage director wearing the fuzzy sweater, in "A HARD DAY'S NIGHT" He was close friends with ALL the Beatles. I was able to meet him at Beatlefest (Now called "The Fest for Beatles' Fans") in Chicago years ago. It is a 3 day Beatles convention which is a LOT of fun. Victor was one of the main speakers that year and he had so many stories to tell about the Beatles, and he could imitate each one of their voices PERFECTLY! Had my picture taken with him. NICE MAN. Sadly he is deceased now.

More remarkable is the shelf life of both Lester's film, and the Beatle's music. Hard Day's Night was released back when according to Andy Warhol, "in the future, everyone will be famous for 15 minutes" . No apparent expiration date on either item so far. No doubt the actor selected to play Paul's uncle must have been "very clean".

However the main songwriter brian wilson was experiencing mental health issues and was taking drugs and he couldn’t finish the album. But i think the closest to the real thing is Dae Lims Smile Ai. First, you have to realize that this movie is a take off on the popular James Bond spy movies. They smoked so much weed on this movie that most of the takes were ruined by their laughter. This was the height of their smoking period. And it shows. Also, this is filled with British humor. A lot of things will slip by you. You gotta watch a few times.

I loved the line "The Royal fuse has blown!" "probably the Queen's hairdryer." Even as a 9 year old kid in the theater I got the double meaning joke.It must have gotten a big laugh with the British audiences.

A lot of marijuana was smoked during the making of this movie. A lot. So we got Rubber Soul out of it.

This is fun movie if you’re able to look over all the poorly aged stuff. Like the depiction of indian Religiouns as cults. And the fact that none of the foreign people are played by foreign people

I mean to be fair India does have the Aghoris which are a literal sanctioned cannibal sacrifice cult. Seems more like parody than anything distasteful, if anything actual Indian cults are WORSE than they are in the movie lol
