Good video to explain how to make expresso. Couple of things, though. One, is the the hole on the base is to hold the portafilter filled with coffee grounds. Secondly, the measuring cup for the water - to get 4 cups of water with water for steaming, you’ll have to fill up to the 4 cup level and pour and then for the steam, fill the water again but this time up to the first steam mark and then pour. This is explained in the manual.
Just got this, I think it's a good machine to learn espresso on and etc. for $50. Was able to mimic my local coffee shop drinks after some practice. IMO if you follow the water measurements on the carafe it comes out watery. Eventually I tried weighing the beans (14g) and then weighing the espresso as it came out of the machine. And to hit 28g of espresso for a 1:2 bean to water ratio - the carafe was only filled w/ brewed espresso at the steam marker. So I recommend almost half the amount of water it says on the carafe to get a stronger taste.
My boyfriend got me what seems to be a higher end version of this machine. Mine has a water tank and the front looks a bit different... But for all other intents and purposes it looks the same. I did get 2 brew baskets with my machine. Should be interesting... I run a small cafe at my church on Sunday mornings and we were gifted a giant Marzocco espresso machine, as well as a grinder that makes pucks of espresso automatically - no tamping required. This should be an interesting learning curve for me 🤣🤣
We just got this machine and are trying to figure it out. Ours does not produce as much Grema as your machine does. Do you think it is working properly?
@@CarsandEspresso Organic milk? you sick puppy, lol. I've tried whole milk, skim milk(2%), and half and half, I can't get it to foam up like they do at dunks. I ordered an electric froather from Amazon,,,maybe it'll work.
@@CarsandEspresso no no. i had it balls deep. "i've giving it all I got captain, i can't give it any more." The instructions weren't clear on how to make it froth correctly or at all.
@@CarsandEspresso I tried re-making some froth using just the tip. she was pleased with the tease,,, it worked great. thanks for the tip. I still need more practice to get that perfect cup, but that is half the fun. the other half is these word play games on youtube,, lol

Everyone misses that the hole in the tray lets you put the filter holder there instead of on the counter.
:/ hold on wait a damn second lol 😂
Wow
@CarsandEspresso I'd like to buy the farberware espresso but I'm worried about the warning, what can you tell me about it, please?

That's like having a Tata and a Rolls Royce.
my parents are getting me this one for Christmas!
It's a great starter machine!
How would clean the inside water tank after it was sitting for a while?
The machine comes with directions that recommend using white vinegar to remove scale build up.
help how i take off the metalic taste of the foam milk?

What kind of espresso are you using? I have great results with LavAzza - look in the description for a link to Amazon.
Also this machine does not use enough pressure, in my opinion... ruclips.net/video/5Tg2Tw4g8Yg/видео.html
What size is the tamper ?
51mm is the one I have
This thing only puts out five bars of pressure, so it just puts out only glorified drip coffee.
mine leaks idk what i’m doing wrong
leaks? from where? is grinding setting set to fine?
what brand of coffee? what type of milk? coconut? skim? whole? come on man.
I use LavAzza espresso beans - look in the comments... As far as milk... just good ol' fashion organic whole milk

@@redhytech do you hold it right at the top of the milk, creating a vortex, and hearing that hissing sound?
