This was may favorite car growing up in the 2000s, I'm so happy I'm not alone and that someone with the means is actually using it as intended instead of having it fall completely into obscurity. Perfect timing too, as I hear that the 400z will be featured in the gt500 races coming up.
Surprised we don't see more former JGTC / SUPER GT cars in time attack. Seems like there's more than enough people with big budgets. Personally, I prefer the look of the 350Z GT500 cars to the 400Z cars.
@@John_Doe3 agreed, the 350z racecars looked sick and the cars all had subtle design differences. the current gt500 cars all look like the widebodies are copy/paste onto the stock bodies imo. Probably to keep the playing field level on aero. Still it's cool to see z back on the grid.
I remember the WTAC year when GT300 S15 & FD (RE Amemiya) were doing their display laps together!😲 I was on pit roof, running side to side (depending where they were on track) to get the best view, smiling like a complete loony!😅
@@JohnnyB. lol, ok mate, if they only let professional racers with a gold race license drive these vehicles what makes you think they're going to sell one to someone off the street?
So I don't know too much about this gt series, but hearing that it's making factory horsepower with all year additional down force is for sure gonna be a struggle. For sure need a different breed of driver for this one.
They make 500+ hp in this configuration without restrictor plates. They restrict it to around d 350 hp for the gt300 class. he said he is running it as is for this series as a benchmark to see how it fares. It's all for fun and to honor the legacy of the car.
Fastest TA cars would probably do pretty well off the line but the GT500's would begin to pull away massively after 3 or more laps. Those cars are more so like LM/Prototype cars in that they keep *very fast* lap times over very long stints instead of *extreme* times in a short burst.

This is amazing to see, wish someone made the aero for it. Is it even a race car if it doesn’t have ITBs? Lol

I will own either one of these, or a GT500 someday! One of my favorite cars of all time.
Hate to say it but you'll never own a GT500 car Cause none of the companys will ever sell them to the public
@@ianrobinson525 Sorry Ian, you’re wrong. I can do anything. Just wait🙏🏼

how match is this car? 😍
Why's is it left side drive again?
We'll need onboards, without music
Ahh a man of taste and class. I agree.
@@joshuafallet5690 At least the SUPER GT official RUclips channel uploads dedicated onboard videos every once in a while.

The fastest cars in world time attack vs current super GT500 cars, who wins?

Do they not need to be road car based?
