  • The official In Your Eyes video.
Taken from the multi-platinum selling album So, the first of Peter’s studio albums to have a proper title and a watershed release in his career. Its marriage of the artistic and the commercial made for an indisputable success, with the album quickly sitting atop the album charts on both sides of the Atlantic.

I'm blown away that my comment was highlighted and I've no idea if this is actually Peter Gabriel's official page, nor do I care.
The honour and respect goes to him for making such beautiful music.
I don't think I should admit this, but my late wife and I would make love to the album 'Passion' a lot over our amazing almost 17 years together.

Love I get so lost, sometimes
Days pass and this emptiness fills my heart
When I want to run away
I drive off in my car
    But whichever way I go
I come back to the place you are
    All my instincts, they return
And the grand facade, so soon will burn
Without a noise, without my pride

So much wasted and this moment keeps slipping away
I get so tired of working so hard for our survival

My Godmother made me a mixed CD that had this song on it with many other great ones. She passed in 2019 after getting hit by a car. Suffered from bipolar disorder and had got out of the hospital in the middle of the night. She was an amazing woman and so caring to me and my sister. Hurts to think about her being gone but glad I have this memory.

I listen to hip-hop, rock, metal, funk, folk, punk, prog, classical, even occasionally jazz... but I really think this particular song is the greatest ever composition of popular music. God bless Peter Gabriel.

I found this sound when I was so so broken. When I sing it, I'm singing it to an ineffable depth of being, a sort of unified world soul, anthropomorphised. Still broken held together with a sweetness of joy and sorrow and hope. Whoever you are stay sweet x

This is a primal scream for love and light in a world that wallows in darkness and despair. The Voice of God through our souls

I'm suspended in time, it's 1986, I'm in my room, listening to the radio and this song comes on, when I open my eyes, this will be in a mind trip, I'm 15.....sigh, music suspends you from aging, it transports you back to the age you were when you first heard a song. Hey, I was single then and just as dorky and awkward 😅

Nostalgia is such an intriguing emotion. If you have the ability to go back and relive the 'exact moment' makes you so happy,, and when you go back to the present it's saddening. So you keep going back to the moment. They say to move forward in life, but if you relive the past and it gives you happiness, then you are the boss and do as you wish.

for years this song made me nostalgically hopeful, painful break-ups here and there . the more time went on, the more I was sure that happy ending wouldn't chance my way. yet like distance thunder on far away spring days I finally met her...been married to a sweet, pretty lady for 20 years. now, this is a victory song...can run out into the rain smiling...with arms outstretched

Maybe learn a second language I picked up on many good 80s songs in Spanish I had missed out before when the 90s rolled in I was ready for some new stuff .Though I have to admit not as good as 60s,70s & 80s but way better than now I suggest maybe Italian. I took up Spanish because of my grandparents.
