What I notice about the "non-PC" bits is that nothing has changed. Men still buy cars for status, focus on the technology, want to look good and impress women. Women still are attracted to "winners." Women still want to be seen as beautiful (thankfully). What's changed is it's taboo to SAY any of that. These old commercials are much more honest than we are today.

Except in extreme cases (where they are *trying* to be unattractive and have gone full lesbian) yes. Hetero feminists still want to "marry up", still want to feel secure within their man's domain, still want a "winner", still want to be attractive, even while they show off their independence, rebel visual cues, and strength.

1960 Galaxie was the WIDEST car allowed on the road- It was about 1" OVER the legal width limit- and the NHTSA allowed them to remain on the road provided Ford made them slightly narrower after the 1960 model year- otherwise they would have been required to have truck lights!

Every plastic POS nowadays is at least capable of 100k miles before even needing to change the plugs, and aside from them being harder to repair, everything about them is more reliable and safer. That and a base Honda Civic will smoke this Galaxie and it's "wall to wall" carpet. My father's Lincolns all hit the wall before 6ok miles and even if he could keep them running all the fancy things like power windows and A/C died long before that. I had a late 60's Cadillac that was a fix it daily basket case before it had 50k miles on it. a police car never Saw it as a
normal car. It was fast cant recall exact engine size but all had to be
8 cyl upwards of 400+ double barrel for police to even consider using it on the streets. It had the power but technology was really cheap back then. Most cars were not expected to even reach 100,000 miles or last over 10 years. It was rare if they did. No airconditioning and a AM radio which had finally advanced to remove almost all tubes. It had seat belts as they were required that year and if you could fold down the front seat it made damn near a queen size bed so yes sex was frequent events and far too easy in a ford galaxy 500 when you're barely 20 yrs old
