Charlie Lawson aka Jim Mc Donald 1989-2000 has spoken out against how ridiculous Coronation Street has become with all the pc nonsense I gave up on it over a decade ago I watch the classic corrie ones on RUclips now 80s 90s great acting good writing I have not had a tv in 11 years, nice video lads👍 One
The soaps are hanging on by their finger tips in a changing world. If you still want to watch Coronation Street would watch Classic Coronation Street on ITV3.
These soaps have all been going for too long, the same storylines have been repeated over and over again. Then the so called actors who have only ever played one character in there life, are referred to as "legends" and given a "lifetime acheivment award" Its actually quite embarassing for Britain as a nation in general
The misery in these tv shows is intolerable today, With "emmerdale farm" its starting to feel like "the adventures of marlon dingle" in what will happen to him today? stroke/heart-attack/fell down a well , Its just constant misery and these days people need some form of "escapism" from the reality of life , Who are the people that enjoy watching such suffering ? its like some self inflicted pain that people enjoy?! . If you watch the really really old classic versions you see a massive quality difference.
I'm a Northerner, and have been a firm fan of Coronation Street.. The writing has gone down hill lately, which is a great shame. It would be like another Great British institution home to the wall. I would like to see it saved, but I'm nearly 60, so guess I'm not the demographic that they're after.
Hi @Jacksta805 Many thanks for your comment. I too am a Northerner a touch older than you are and sometimes I feel a little like I've been "put out to pasture" at times too. But I do have some comfort in thinking that our generation difficult as it was back then had a much better life than most, especially compared with what the younger generations are facing these days in the UK.
Hi @Bessie66 many thanks for your comment. Me too I think the storyline has gotten a little too much to be realistic. I haven't watched Corrie for a long time, but then I live here in South America, but the last time I went to the UK I had a chance to and it looked to me just like any other soap full of social messaging and desperate sensationalism a long chalk from when I was a kid watching it seeing the day to day activities of a local community back in the late sixties/early seventies.
Hi Dathom1986 thanks for your comment. Yes I tend to agree, with the little I have seen of it being here abroad it seems that the writers are more concerned in sensationalising and trying to make a social point than making a story based on the original concept of the programme.
@steveallen1648 yes they have a big story line about cancer so everybody can supposedly relate to it , it's just made up rubbish, we have bought into 20 or 30 years ago but we've got the internet now and never mind Corronation street , if tv is still around in 2030 ...it will be a miracle .
@@tristanwhite3472 Reading between the lines I think they can see the writing on the wall. They can see it more clearly as they are there in the middle of it and so are looking for pastures green.

It reached a dead end a long time ago.

Also did not help they put episodes on every night of the shows so it thinned out the story/resources to a greater extent.
It's finished. Woke has basically killed it with snowflake storylines and box ticking characters portrayed by awful actors
Just needs to get back to what it once was .humourous and lighthearted.

My bad. You are of course right. For some reason in my research it said November.

Too woke nowadays
Now days it all about pushing the message...😢
Like emmerdale.
Inspector Morse simply fantastic 🎉
Absolutely rubbish now - stopped watching years ago. Storylines are just not credible at all.

@steveallen1648 it's needs to go back to what it was a little bit.
Woke Is Dead 👊
Go woke go broke 👊
Used to love corrie years ago, don't watch any TV
Same here not had a TV in over a decade can't cope with modern TV bland pc nonsense
Never watch it! Haven't done so since the 70's!
I watched the first episode when they have the fight in the Rovers. I haven't seen another one all the way through since..
Busy life.
No keep it going. It’s still the best Soap on TV.
Hi @tristanwhite3472 thanks for your comment. It being the best soap on TV doesn't mean much if the bar has been set so low for the rest.
It's Rubbish.. it's just filling air time while itv sell advertising space.

Why are all the best actors leaving DAVID DAISY BETHANY 😊😊
Hi @deborahwright759 many thanks for the question. Rumours have it that the hours are long and the pay is low.
Yes they shouldn’t leave!

Glad daisy is going .didn't like her snooty attitude.
@@melgrant7404 😄😄😄
Even before we won the World Cup.
The year before I was born...
You obviously don't watch it, so why talk about it?
Hi @Toecutter875 Many thanks for your comment. I don't watch pole dancing either but can make comments about it.
You could also put a traffic cone on your head and run around the high street screaming 'I'm the lemon cheese cake man" doesn't mean you should.
@Toecutter875 You saw me then? :-)
