Ad blocking is actually the best thing to do. Without an ad blocker, the world wide web is literally not usable. However, Google recently stepped up its game on RUclips and sneaks its sneaky video ads through, so that I have to hit reload whenever I see one (most of the time, it works and I see only like maybe 1 second of the ad). On some videos though, I have to hit reload something like 10 to 15 times until I can play it. This is horribly annoying, but everything is better than seeing ads. No matter what it is. Ads are like torture. So I'd rather waste my time by hitting reload than have it wasted by having to watch an ad.

only kids and jerks who never had to work for their money, who never had to make the descision whether to pay either the electricity bill or the rent for their apartment or to pay both and then live from sliced bread and tap water for the rest of the month, can be so stupid and impertinent to lay into a RUclipsr for monetarizing their vids. We as consumers don't pay a cent for the content, may it be silly or amazing. But you as a content producer have to spend time and money into it, like equipment, maintenance, (sometimes) replacement. Time is money and it is a priceless good, you can either use it for one cause for another, but not for both. And I appreciate it. I only close ads in the beginning of a vid, when they are too repetitive (seen them 20 times the same day) or really annoying (like blasting away my head with the beginning of Beethoven's fifth symphony on full speakers).
The guidelines you applied to yourself about sponsorship are cool. As long as I know you are sponsored, I'm ok with it.

Do Patreon! I have seen many Yt'ers, also small ones, doing really well with it. The thing is we watch your videos only because we want to see you as a person being yourself and doing what you want to do rather than someone forced to do ads on beanbags, etc. You're definitely one of those persons that is just made for youtube!
