Is there a way to simply stop updates from happening, AT ALL!? I'm sick of Samsung only letting me postpone so many times before it just decides FOR me. It should be my choice wether or not I WANT to update.

@@rompevuevitos222 I know what you mean. One of my buddies saw my current phone needed an update while we were in a drive through and without asking tapped update phone. When I realized what he did I yelled at him. He I thought everyone updated their phone I had him why I don't update my phone what it changes and most importantly don't touch other people's stuff without asking.
If you are wondering yes we're still friends but the next time he does that my foot is going where the sun don't shine.

You saved my phone. Samsung updated my device and it just got the service off. I called the phone company and s/he just said that the new update is why the phone service cannot go through. S/he also said that there was no way the update could be removed. I just followed your lead step by step (albeit some of the stuff you mentioned did not show up at the same place) and successfully removed the update. OMY, my phone service got resurrected. Jesus Christ may save my soul, but my other soul is my phone, and you gave it a new life...Thank you.
This just happened with my zfold 4. It started with no Wifi/BT working, then a day later my phone died and once i turned it back on i had no service. just a circle with a line through it. ive tried restarting the phone, Resetting network aswell as Wifi/BT settings, and i even Wiped my entire phone clean back to Factory settings and STILL doesnt work. I know now i need to roll the software back to the previous version. WIsh me luck with this process, i have a feeling it wont work but lets see!

You can only factory reset. Unless u can find a patch site for people who hack and jail break.

Is there a way to reset the download progress of the software update? I had my security patch on S20 plus 5g but I paused it back then as I was not yet ready. But I heard that when software update is paused for too long, the update might be corrupted. Is there a way to reset it back to 0%?

hello aha! i found a way, so you basically have to go through your system apps, look for "software update" and then force stop or clear data

thanks, this way i was able to delete the already downloaded software update on my lenovo tab, it was taking space and i didnt want to install it, 3 years old but still works

I have a SAMSUNG A71 and so does a close friend - we bought them at almost the same time and near the same time both of our phones will now start losing volume randomly, mostly when making a call we realize we can't hear the other person. We have to reset our phones to fix it. I discovered more recently that the volume is affecting everything on the phone as if the speak is being turned off and a reset works. I find it too much of a co-incidence that both out phones of the exact model are experiencing the same issue and I have seen other people in this comments box complaining of low-volume issues since an update.
This needs to stop and we need to get someone to decipher the code and prove that SAMSUNG are slowing down older phones and creating defects on purpose to cause users to search for new devices.

I followed the exact procedure. After restarting it vanished. I was happy. But after sometime it again appeared. Now it is there in the notification.

Software updates install bug in samsung android phones that affects multimedia particularly decreases sound volume to very low. There is no way to remove updates. This is combined business trick of both google and samsung.

My s20 plus isn't like this. Help! I had a system update paused for a year. I accidentally unpaired and now it wants to update. I'm on android version 11. This might be a unique question. Today I was notified my s21 ultra was trying to update to Android 12. I hate Android 12 after leaving my pixel 5. Since I have turned on developer options and turned off auto updates I now have a floating notification stating a software update is available. How do I get rid of that? And everytime I accidentally click on it it ofcourse wants me to set a time to do it later, stating that if I don't choose to do it it'll forcibly do. Please tell me I can turn this off. Or, can I reset my phone and keep my current Android? Additionally, I was trying to make sure that my backup from Google was the only one to keep. But it says that if I turn off my auto backup it will delete my backup from last night before this attempted forced update.
@@thetechfixr4988 thanks for your response. So, I'm actually unable to disable permission to show system information in the notification panel, at least with everything I have tried. I wouldn't mind doing the factory reset because I could just re-download my information from the cloud over night while I was sleeping. But my question would be could I disable automatic updates through developers options during the re-download process of resetting my phone from it's cloud backup.

@@md3869 so, I sadly don't know. Thus far I have avoided the issue just by ignoring the notification for a download. My phone gives me an option to be re-notified in 2 hours and it's just become a habit to do so. Sometimes, it will pop up saying I'm forced to update I just pulled down to look at my system settings or flashlight etc and I just click one of those and then it allows me to go back to my home screen. At this point I think we would both have to just factory reset. And during the reset we would have to go into developer options and disable Wi-Fi and disabled automatic updates. Once we disable automatic updates we can get the Wi-Fi back on and allow the phone to back up is normal.

@@tranquilgiftsonline I think so you need to go to settings then go to apps and where it says your apps on the right side you will see something that with an arrow pointing down and 3 lines click that and press show system apps. Then scroll down to where it says software update click it then press on it then press where it says permissions
