Great vid. Was enjoyable to hear your genuine thoughts on everything because it didn’t seem like you were going off of a script. Not that scripts are bad or anything but definitely felt a lot more personal and was more engaging. Cheers and Happy Holidays
Yeah I wrote a script and tried that route but it felt too stiff. I ditched it and just tried to chat like I would on streams. It definitely made the video longer than anticipated but I agree, it feels much more natural!
This is a really well made video and totally fun to watch. Love all the different camera angles and b-roll. Thats a like and a sub from me as a first time viewer.
To own one on your list… I am so content! As a new hobbyist you’re one of the builders that have only pointed my in the right direction! So thank you for a great year
Hi Tristan!, I'd say I had a gut feeling the KMG B65 would be your number one by recalling all the boards you built, since, at least for me, it's also in my top rated boards of 2024 probably tied at first place with the Glare 65, although the GB for the latter ran back in 2023, and was delivered this year. Thanks a lot for the video and the amazing pics!
The Protagonist had some amazing photos, I immediately picked it up after watching your build stream. I already have the keycaps waiting for it 😂. I feel pretty bad for not grabbing the Cloud Nine but was low on funds at the time. I really hope that Mode makes a wood like frame for the Tempo. I like the improvement in your video style over the year. I understand how much time you have as a Dad, I'm in the same situation lol, I barely get time to tune stabs.
@@sK0pe-d9b thanks so much for the kind comment! It’s definitely hard finding time to balance everything, that’s why the new style has been alot easier on me. Glad to hear you enjoy it!
Great video man. I think it came out great! I agree with your list ..although EH would be my #1 (just by trying yours in Texas 😅). Hope we get to meet up again in the new year. Thanks for all the tips and recommendations over this past year!
I have to say that the B65 is somehow an addictive keyboard, apart from the spectacular looks there's something with it that makes it not leave my desk
I totally get the number 1. Sometimes the build just hits the correct typing feel when you don't expect it. I used to return to qk60 a lot (despite having several others, more expensive boards), because the build I achieve always felt... Productive(?) to type on. Like... I almost don't think about it, compared to some other boards that remind me that I'm typing on a custom board (the spring might be just slightly too light or heavy, the sound little too off etc). Great video as always el capitan.
I know what you mean when you're saying you can't say *exactly* why the KMG is your #1 this year but it just is I'm in a maybe slightly similar-ish situation where sure I've only built about a fifth as many boards as you in the past year, but the LEAST expensive one - the one I thought I'd like the least but just got it cause I thought it was cool looking - is the one that I literally can't keep off my desk. Every time I rotate it out, I just bring it right back within a few days or less. I'm talking about the Pt.1/75! I was severely disappointed with my first build and almost gave up on it. Definitely wrong plate & wrong switches. Tried something different and now I literally can't put it away. It's maybe my second cheapest board overall and I'm daily using it more than all my other boards. Sure I love my other boards and I'm glad I have them - but this is the one that's on my desk right at this moment and you can't really argue with that Anyways, keep doing what you're doing, looking forward to what you've got for us in 2025!!!
The thing that makes me know Captain Sterling is SWK Ghost Dragon (aka Goat of budget switches) and M-One Stabs. Captain Sterling did something that i can't shake off my addiction to. It's SWK Ghost Dragon.
@ I'm addicted to loud sounding keyboards so SWK Ghost Dragon is the best budget switches that i can buy for 0.35 cent per switch. Crazy cheap and yummy high pitch clack 🐧
@@ievaday well I filmed this a week ago and built the Neo75 CU just two days ago. If I had built it before it definitely would’ve. But the Neo75 CU and Shelby65 will both be up for the awards in 2025 since it’ll technically be 12 months from now
