I never thought it was fair to compare the Digimon to Pokemon or to call digimon a Pokemon rip off just because they both have people with monster partners. The two franchises are way more different than people give attention to. If people want to say designs are “similar” I don’t think so. Yes some creatures have the same inspiration but they’re both Japanese franchises so it’s unavoidable to have overlap. With that said I love the both equally for different reasons, I love digimon for the anime and I love Pokémon for the games

you know Anthony, this figure is the exact idea I share with you. I love that this figure went with a strategy of making a figure that is almost perfectly molded , almost zero paint issues, almost zero qc issues. THIS IS A SOLID RELEASE. Price is excellent for it.
I do say for the extra buck they can go for paint applications like shading or metallic paint or saturated paints wherever needed.
ALOT of figures and companies have got it all wrong and put their eggs in the wrong baskets so to speak. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS REVIEW because it articulates what needs to be said and done.

Greetings. I grew up watching Digimon throughout middle school in the early 2000's, so seeing Wargreymon's figure for about $20 was a welcome surprise and an opportunity that I couldn't say no to.
Regarding the figure, he is nicely molded and more solid than other figures that I've seen lately. Most of his joints happen to be smooth and fluid despite his bulk. The figure's smooth surfaces definitely allow extra paint if customizers want to paint him. I painted my Wargreymon copy during Thanksgiving. I only wish that he was slightly taller, but he had so much bulk already that making him taller would have raised the price, I suppose.
As a kid I ALWAYS wanted a straight up Wargreymon toy! Only thing they had back then was the shitty Agumon to Wargreymon with Agumon’s face as the back wing things

I just bought this figure along with the Omnimon. I wish I had these type of figures when I was a kid but either anime toys weren’t prevalent or I just had no luck finding them.
Unfortunately, I did not get to watch much of Digimon but I knew I liked it way more than Pokémon. Now I have a bigger interest in Digimon and its card game. Hope to see more from this figure line!
I collect Bandai's Digimon model kits, and love them to death, but i have to say, these releases surprised the heck outta me. They look solid, think i'll pick them up too. Thanks for the review man!
Not a big Digimon fan, I really only liked them as the virtual pets.
So Bandai tends to do less paint and color seperated plastic on thier less expensive figures. The advantage of that is if youre painting it, you can seperate the parts and paint them individually. Also, I dont think the articulation is bad at all for $20, especially considering hes a monster and such. I mean he beats most McFarlane figures 🤣
Is it possible that metalgarurumon will be released in this line? He's my favourite digimon and that transforming die-cast figure is just too expensive for me.

Awesome figure! I still have the original bandai wg figure that was released like 14 years ago, this one may be better. I also definitely liked Digimon way more, from the anime to the ps1 games
I vastly prefer Digimon to Pokemon. I still remember snippets of the show, especially Vampiremon (forget if that's his exact name). The battle between him and Angewoman was pretty legendary stuff to me back then.

I have this, I'm not a huge fan of it. I prefer both the amplified wargreymon (even taking price into account) and also whatever the basic kit was called. If you're a big digimon fan, I highly, highly suggest checking out the figure rise wargreymon amplified, metalgarurumon amplified and/or the gallantmon/dukemon amplified kits. I think those are my three favorite, admittedly, I haven't put together the machinedramon one yet and he looks dope.
Man, i didn't even knew this existed, until i saw him and Beelzemon for $7.99 at Burlington...i ain't even collecting this line or any others but I HAD TO GET HIM, he was one of the most cool looking ones.
Found out about this guy a few months ago and the reviewer was comparing him to Bandai's previous Wargreymons, and it's amazing how well he stacks up against them. Sure, there's not much paint to keep costs down, but in all other areas he's as good if not better than previous Wargreymons, especially given his price point. Even the articulation is better than I would expect with his bulk and clunky armour, and for his price point. The fact that he's sold for cheaper than Marvel Legends figures just hits home how lazy and complacent Hasbro has gotten while simultaneously price gouging, especially given that this mould can only be re-used, like, once for Blackwargreymon.

We all love Pokémon but no one can say the Pokémon anime was better. Digimon was truly an adventure. A group of kids on a journey to save THE WORLD!
And wow this figure looks good! I just got the Bandai model kit for this guy last week, but maybe I should have waited! I’m not sure which one is better! 🤔 I doubt AnimeHeroes is gonna make a MetalGarurumon tho.
I like it. I immediately saw the anime's simplistic style and color.
The D Arts version captures the digivolution sequence perfectly.
Those two and then I would want a Our War Game version. I've seen it before but forgot the maker.
I added some metallic paint to this and the Beelzemon now they look almost as good as the Figuarts. So happy to finally have Digimon figures

I prefer the figure rise. I have standard, amplified and this. Amplified > standard > this.
I have this figure and the shoulder pad articulation was my only gripe bc no Nova Force poses
While i grew up with both I am a Digimon fan mostly as i feel at times Digimon grew up with its audience and hell are still doing new things with new gmes coming up and the color screen tamagotchi coming next year. Also Rosemon...

What's interesting is no matter what Wargreymon toy, he's always had limited articulation, no sure if it's the design but D arts, Digivolving Spirits, and Amplified all have limited movement. Only one I can think of with more articulation is the figuarts.
As amazing as this figure is for that price, I would honestly recommend spending $5-7 more to get the Figurise standard model kit. And I'd only recommend that based on the added articulation on that kit.
Greetings. Speaking of Digimon model kits, I've seen the Amplified Wargreymon version. The Imperialdramon model kit also impressed me enough that I almost want one.
@@tonyc.0451 I have them all and they're all worth the purchase. When it comes to Wargreymon though, I prefer the non amplified versions
@@MushaGundamMKIII You prefer that Wargreymon retains his original design, I presume? Plus, the Amplified model kits look complicated. I barely managed to build an Entry Grade Gundam on my own for the first time.
@@tonyc.0451 for Wargreymon, yes. I like both the amplified and regular ones, but I prefer the normal one. The amplified kits aren't all that more complex, mostly just larger and with more parts separation. I really like the Gallantmon, Machinedramon, Imperialdramon, and Beelzemon amplified kits. And I'm super looking forward to that ShineGreymon amplified that just got announced an hour ago.

Picked this guy up for $15 and I’m more than pleased with it. Going to throw some metallic paint on it and call it a day. I can’t seem to fault it for the cost

Digimon all the way and I believe the franchise came first. Figure doesn't look too bad, might pick it up even though I recently built the anime styled model kit.
im very surprise how good this figure is, granted the shoulder pads is kinda disappointing (is not attach to the shoulder as per-say and more to the torso) and still its an impressive figure ( specially with the price point). As for the color they probably did this mold coloring on purpose so it would match the old anime show, i kinda remember WarGreymon looking like this vibrant color.
as for which mons i like, i like both. there different in there own way although granted the last pokemon games have been getting this concept of "here is the exclusive power boost of the game for exclusive pokemons), i find it kinda annoying

For ML rating easily 9/10. Well done Hasbro I Actually was okay paying $30 because I paid $80 for Mafex and $100 for mezco. Anyways didn’t watch this video,

Anime Heroes are all over the place. There are 5 main characters from Saint Seiya, and there are at least seven figures from the line. Guess how many are of someone from the main cast…that’s right only 2, where are Shun Hyoga and Ikki. Also waiting on more female figures from One Piece and Naruto, they also have release like 6 different narutos
I can't honestly answer this question. Pokemon came out when I was managing a Electronics Boutique. Kids and moms loved it, but we had to, by company rules, only sell a few packs per family. They would get so angry!
Edit: I just bought Darwin and Maggott at Wal-Mart. On clearance for $17 each. First time they were ever in the store. I like them.

I like Digimon more than Pokemon and it isn't even close. Not to say I don't like Pokemon, and I don't really see the series as similar or worth comparing either, but quality-wise even in terms of the games these days Pokemon doesn't even reach the same wheelhouse as Digimon.

When it comes to Digimon in figure form- the Bandai model kits are where it’s at! The Standard Wargreymon is like $20-30 and it’s FAR better than this figure, it looks like it came straight out of the anime! I would be very interested to see you do a review of the standard model kit version OR the Amplified version, which far and away my favourite Wargreymon in figure form!

I think I liked the first 3 seasons of Digimon more than Pokemon when I was a kid.
Series 3 of digimon was shite. It literally turned into Pokémon. 1&2 are masterpieces though
I was distraught when Pokemon came and even more so after Digimon came out. The writing was on the wall. I disliked them both immediately after each pilot- I have never enjoyed the art style or the writing or the humor in either show, and watched a fair few episodes. Dragonball and Sailor Moon were pretty enjoyable, but I just couldn’t stand Pokemon or Digimon. I might have been a couple years too old for them to really speak to me.
The onslaught of the anime Japanimation signaled the end of X-Men, BTAS, Superman, Spider-Man and all the great superhero cartoons of the 90s. I’m still a little salty about it 25 years later.

Digimon is better. Digimon has better monster designs, stories, and characters. Some may say that Pokemon have better games but the current Pokemon games coming out now suck ass.

I really like the old Pokemon games but let's be honest, compared to other video game series they tend to be some of the games of all time, and the newer games are just flunks now usually. Digimon has long since surpassed it and it was already more mature and better at everything else.
I like Digimon. Pokemon was good. But Digimon had some dark things going. I still remember when Kai forced Agumon to Digivolv and he ended up being Skullgreymon.

You can't just compare digimon with pokemon, the 2 franchise are complete different, pokemon is a bug catching game, digimon is literally a tamagotchi spinoff, so while pokemon is about getting the things, digimon is about rising your partner, plus digimon actually came first than pokemon lmao, digimon was first a Vpet ( a better tamagotchi) then that shitty over rated anime got made, digimon even has waaaay more lore and stuff b/w the vpets, games and reference book, so yea, pokemon is a kids franchise while digimon is for young teen/ adults, both are nice but there is no way to compare both , the figure looks okay for the price , but i just stay with the modelkits , more fun and well.. if we are going to paint it anyways 😆 and yea, Hasbro is just a ripoff
