    The Orlando Magic beat the Cleveland Cavaliers 103-90 in their Game 6 matchup in the 2009 Eastern Conference Finals.
    Dwight Howard dominated inside the paint with 40 points to lead the Magic to the Eastern Conference Title over LeBron James and the Cavs on Saturday night. The Magic will return to the NBA Finals for the first time since the Shaq era in Orlando.

    People forget how many great 3 point shooters the Magic had. It wasn’t all about Dwight, he had a team of great shooters around him to pass to. We were ahead of our time with having almost our whole team being 3 point shooters. Most teams didn’t have both starting forwards be able to make 3’s like we did.

    Dwight Howard has so much potential but he's waisting his best years because he refuses to develop a post game. If he would add more moves to his arsenal, get his teammates involved more (another thing that separates him from the legends) and demand the ball more he'd be a serious MVP candidate every year. He also needs to demand the ball more and stop letting VC, Rashard and Jameer jack up long jumpers.

      FLASH03 Meh, you’re oversimplifying the issue, it falls on The LeBron James System I’m sure back in these days it people haven’t figured out it was LeBron who refused to ingratiate himself to a team system and thought it was the coach of the years’ fault. But in 2019 we’ve seen LeGM acquiring a puzzling, but talented, support cast which he refused to adopt to. He was having Lonzo Ball and Rajon Rondo shooting threes off the catch & shoot and keeping the ball out shot creators hands in Ingram and Kuzma. Playing this ball dominant style which includes slow offensive movement and lack of box outs favoring getting low value defensive rebounds while leaving the defense vulnerable. Incrementally I have realized this as my understanding of the game increased, LeBron has to give his brand up, those stats, for a team friendly system with established roles. *Kobe softened this criticism by telling him and the media that he should “let his teammates step up” in order to win,* this tells us that Kobe (and Magic who has been critical aswell) are having these phone conversations with LeBron frequently. I hope we’ll see that LeBron next season so he can win a championship.

    And also Bynum has had trouble in every series covering a decent low post presence. Nene had some pretty good games versus Bynum and playing him one on one with Howard is not the smartest thing. Bynum will get into foul trouble and it will force Gasol on Howard, which brings Luke Walton to cover Rashard Lewis, which is another mismatch in height. Trevor Ariza will be the X-factor in the 2009 Finals and reason being can he limit Hedo's and Pietrius' production during the finals.

    no offense...
    i'm sick and tired of you people criticizing the play of the cavaliers...
    i have so much respect for Orlando... they are really a strong team with a strong lineup... and that's not a case of the Cavaliers being "losers"...
    think first before you react...
    thanks...

    @hec2006 its true but they built a team around him not with him like in la they gave kobe ariza then artest. in denver they gave melo jr and chauncy. they cavs got shaq for a good defensive big man after what happened in this series. they got him jamison which threw of there chemistry big time losing there next 3 games after that 13 game run. they could of got amare but they refused because they cavs wanted hickson to step up. the cavs have some good 3 point shooters but not a solid playoff team

    omg Pietrus is like the best bench player in the league. outscoring the other team's bench and play good defense.
    Feel bad for lebron james. either cleveland get in new ppl or lebron should switch teams.

    the thing that really killed the cavs are the 3-point shooting of lewis, turkoglu and pietrus..plus the beast howard!!..they have no players to match these guys,..when dwight was double-teamed magic scores in the perimeter..so thats it, theyre done!!..i believe that they can match the lakers..MAGIC IN 6 OR 7

    Cleveland was a paper lion all season long and anyone who knows basketball and wasn't a media mercenary for Nike and David Stern knew that already. They never matched up well with Orlando this season or last year, the Cavs are old in the front court and undersized and light in the back court, and teams win titles, not individuals, but because an entire generation of sports fans have been brainwashed by Stern and Knight they are always shocked when star players can't win by themselves. Hilarious.

    Lebron is the "stats" leader, he is not enough of a vocal "team-leader"... He still has growning to do, and I can see him being traded. Lebron will do best on a team with another bonafide super-star that is more vocal/hype because it just isn't in him. He's not a fighter in that way. Congratulating the winning team is about good sportmsanship, and unforntunately for him- he has earned himself a true rival for years. Orlando will not forget that he did that, and will use it to get under his skin.

    Cleveland: way too small and no big men to get easy baskets.
    When your option 2 & 3 are both under 6ft 3, i think you got a problem. Also, believe it or not, Ilgauskas was 33 when he played. Damn, thought he was close to retiring with that performance.

    cleveland should have played small ball to counter the magic's spread out offense with howard alone in the low block. even though you'll be making the perimeter defense extremely thin. i would've put 3 guards out there and lebron playing the 4 and verajao playing the 5 or you can cross match. put verajao on rashard lewis and lebron on howard. lebron has the strength and defensive punch and lateral ability to hold howard on the block even though he gives up two or three inches. his freakish length makes up for it. too bad. if mike brown made those adjustments just like how the miami heat did with erik spoelstra. it would've worked MOST likely. speed and the correct use of spacing in sports kills other teams regardless of size sometimes.

    • @thetankie6335
      @thetankie6335 10 лет назад +1

      they didn't adjust thus leaving bigs out on the perimeter to defend the 3 point line making it no use for them to be on the court in the first place. putting 4 wing players and one traditional big would've been more effective for both ends of the court. it makes sense because i would want a 4th wing player with equal height guarding stretch fours and that can recover to them in time on those specific rotations on defense. having traditional bigs stretched out on the perimeter is just a luxury for the other team (magic) because of the slash and dish and slash and dish or howard post double team comes kick out swing swing for a wide open three. if bigs were out there. rotation speeds would be much slower. but with cleveland down sizing with lebron at the four just gives essentric speed and passing lanes and cuts in the mid post and rotations would be denied with james cat like speed, he'll recover and complete coverages everywhere. and switch on forward or guards because of his elite lateral quickness and strength. using your star player that has that kind of versatility to full potential and meaningful use in all cylinders wil just benefit the team.

    cavs are an amazing team that can't be taken away from them. imo lebron has to get the hell away from the cavs if he thinks he going to win a title anytime soon. not this year lebron.

  • @MattMisGOD
    @MattMisGOD 15 лет назад

    By doing what?
    By flopping because he was getting called soft?
    Because that's really all he did while defending Howard, flop flop flop to get him into foul trouble and send him to the bench.
    And I can't wait for next year. The Spurs/Lakers in the western conference is going to be an amazing matchup, and the Cavs/Magic in the East will be as well.
    And Boston, well...they will do okay in the playoffs, but they can't compete with the rest.
