All I can say, a legendary film maker. He could tell stories for days. Not just documentaries, his work together with the crazy German actor Klaus Kinski is especially fascinating and interesting. Klaus Kinski was a sick person, he should never married, especially due to his mental history, but you never know how it plays out in the end. As an actor he was a genius in a way, he remembered whole bible and would perform for hours retelling it, multiple language skills, but that illness and temper - scary but often comical.
yeah he sucks.. he's what the 110 IQ crowd think is genius -- but he's just a stylistic bloviator... also there's never been a truly great writer that didn't have to forfeit the majority of their life force to get something good down on the page... this guy is just a "TV camera intellect," i.e., not the genuine article
I don't fully believe his story about the twins. I mean. There are documented twins who try to speak in unison (you can see some of them in YT I think), but not because they think exactly the same at the same time, but because they try to complement each other almost instantly. They never manage to speak more than three words at a time. That's why I think Herzog exaggerates the story tremendously, romanticizes it. Herzog is a storyteller, a faker (in a good way). And I respect him for that. But he should not be taken seriously always.
Here comes my German (or as we call ourselves: the people of poets and thinkers) idea ☝️☺️ Werner should make a film with, or even better: about Conan. Imagine once there will be a time without Conan. I and millions would miss him unimaginably and the rest would get a better understanding of his qualities post mortem. This man deserves to be the subject of a Werner Herzog masterpiece. Who else can do it? All the others are not artists, all they are able to (re-) produce are clichés and advertisement.

I love the interview but it became clear to me that Conan respects Herzog a bit too much. He is not as good when he interviews sometime he admires sometimes.
