Wow - sorry to hear of your loss Pete, but life goes on mate! I lost 3 of my family just before the virus! Getting back to you - I recon you will be a TOP presenter! You informed us of your job/s journey/s without reading from a script, some MPs could/can't even do that! I thought I had done many job functions, but your journey in making a wage is mind boggling, as I work with my hands and still do at my old age, learning many new projects from You Tube! I have many films/footage of Scotland that I had walked/sailed and would love to show them on You Tube, but I do not have that Knowledge, or in how one can create an account! I wish you all the best in becoming a presenter, or maybe an MP! you have the gift of the gab as they say! You are on the right path and I wish you get what you deserve! Good Luck!!
I’m a MINI enthusiast and just subscribed to Petrol Ped about a week ago. Your content is fun, entertaining and educational. Well done! Like yourself, I’m also a registered/certified engineer. My career has been devoted to high speed turbo machinery. I’m glad to have found another engineer who loves MINIs.
Another captivating vid. Well told tale of career progression and nice tribute to Alan! Great to see the pups again! Keep up the content Ped! Much appreciated in these dark times!!
I really enjoyed watching this update. I’m sorry to hear about your friend; these are truly difficult times. I think that you’re also one of life’s good guys - keep up the good work!
That was lovely Pete and very well put together. I’m ever so sorry about your sad news, you have my deepest condolences me flower 💐. Any hu keep up the great work, stay safe & healthy 💋
Congrats on all your success Pete! You are definitely suited to presenting content and go about it so naturally! Glad to hear from Mrs Petrol Ped that what you see is what you get👍🏻. One of the good guys !Condolences to you in regards to your friend and sending out ❤️ and strength to his family. Cheers.
Fantastic vlogs, wonderful ability to tell a story and I truly enjoy your love of cars. So interesting to learn more about you. I've especially appreciated your daily vlogs during our pandemic. Cheers to you and so sorry to hear about your friend Alan.
Great video Pete. Really good to hear about your interesting career path. Presenting is certainly something your good at, so I'd be very happy to see you do that and more RUclips. Sorry to hear about your friend. Just like so many illnesses, it's always something just merely out there until it gets to someone you know. Keep up the good work and hopefully the TV jobs will come.
Pete I just wanted to say I absolutely love what you are doing & you are different to a lot of the other car RUclipsrs which is a refreshing change👍 your daily vlogs are great & both me & my wife love your dogs & in fact has made us want that breed in the future! Currently have two lizards & no dogs🤣 anyway as someone who works in the car industry (I work for Porsche) I'm most definitely affected at the moment as I've been on furlough at home for the last 3 weeks so it's hard to try & not just veg out on the sofa so it's all about keeping a healthy mind etc & just getting out when we can! Keep up the great work your doing Pete & trust me you are helping in keeping everyone sane during lockdown 😁
Really enjoyed today’s vlog as always. Great to hear more about you and your life. Good luck with the training course. I delivered a 5 day course on line 2 days after lockdown started. I’d only ever done it as face to face classroom based before so this was a massive learning curve for me. I found the concentration exhausting so I would recommend taking frequent breaks and I set my learners tasks they could do on their own which gave us all a bit of respite from staring intently at the screen. Having seen you here on RUclips, it’s obvious you’ll be brilliant. Let us know how you get on 👍
Keep doing what you do, Sir! Great RUclips content. Loved Vintage Voltage. Hope to see more when we get through this pandemic. And, for what it's worth, I'll certainly be watching anything you're presenting! Sorry to here about your colleague. Good guys like Alan are a blessing in life! Stay safe!
Keep well man, love your vids very much and appreciate your work ! stay healthy in this crazy times. All the best from a Clubman F54 owner from Germany.
Very moved live You had there Peter. Some great decisions have been made, You are a great inspiration sadly I’m to old for huge changes. My condolence for the family and friends from Alan. Makes it clear, more than ever...stay healthy and safe
on the evidence of this video I've subbed...yes I watched a few of your mod videos (just bought my first mini at 53 yrs old), but wanted to know more about you...have to say, love your style, your ability to laugh at yourself, to be so natural in front of the camera, and your outlook on life, especially during such a terrible time in all our lives.....just wanted to say thank you....and I hope you fulfill your dreams, with your attitude, I'm certain you will....🤙🏼
Fantastic video, I’m a small business owner, and love your enthusiasm and very interesting delivery. I can certainly see these plans coming to fruition. Thanks, loving the content.
Love watching the walk and chat videos. Very interesting hearing about your career journey and aspirations, hope things get going again for you after lockdown. Sorry to hear about your friend Alan, that’s so sad but your tribute was lovely.
Hi Ped Enjoyed the walk with the Pups this evening, however sad to hear of the loss of your friend and mentor. We are all living in dangerous times, and have to do all we can to protect our loved ones and those around us. Once again thank you for sharing, and wish you success with your future ambitions.🥰
Always a pleasure watching your videos Pete. You would make a great addition to Top Gear in my opinion! So sorry for the loss of your friend, stay safe dude.
Thoroughly enjoyed “meeting the man behind the camera”. Kudos to you Peter & your passion for knowledge. One day in the future (if I’m still around), maybe you’ll write your memoirs and I’ll get to read your story. Sad for the loss of your dear friend & mentor. Stay safe mate.
Just happened across your channel, lovely to see such an honest account of your career and future goals. Sorry to hear about the loss of one of your friends last week. Best of luck in all your future endeavours.
Really enjoyed this, you’re such a nice humble chap Peter. I think TV is your true calling as you’re natural in front of the camera. Sincerely sorry to hear about your friend Alan.
I’m an Engineer, not chartered though, but my respect for the information you provide has grown. I too was one of the people that thought you did a bit of a bad job on the Audi E-torn, assuming you had learned all about it and decided to take the piss like Clarkson et al. But now I realise you’re a clever bloke who was just learning on the job. Well done, and keep up the good work. 👍
Pete, another really interesting video, I knew about your It training from an earlier vlog, but you really have had some irons in the fire over quite a period and I really wish you well in all you do. It`s good to know you and Mrs Ped and your Schnauzers who are the sweetest happy dogs you could wish for. Sorry that you lost your great friend and mentor and it maybe some long time before we can venture out into society. We will have to patient and as I said to someone today be good little Boys and Girls until playtime!!!
What a brilliant piece! that conversation would normally be had over a pint! I love hearing about how people ended up doing what they are now doing! I've been working in IT for the last 31 years, been contracting for over 20 years, and have been specialising in Robotic Process Automation for over 6 years now. Very sorry to hear about your friend, Allan. We all meet those wonderful people along the way, some of whom we stick with! It sounds like he was one of those! I thought this was another great share from Petrol Ped! I thought it was very interesting, informative and enjoyable! You Sir - live in a nice looking part of the world! :) As ever your cars are cool! :D
Well first I got to meet your wife “virtually” that is! And now you’ve told me quite a bit about yourself for which many thanks. It’s always interesting to know a little about the people you’re listening to as you, up to a point, take what they’re saying as being accurate and honest and believe it’s delivered with integrity. I pick my youtube presenters with this in mind and as far as I know I usually get it right. So thank you for being very open and telling me about your life to date and hope you continue to progress your career and meet your aspirations. Good luck. Best wishes. 👍
Great vid and very interesting to hear your past and aspirations. Sad about your colleague, certainly brings the reality home. Stay safe, keep them coming 👍
This is rapidly becoming my favourite channel to watch on RUclips (along with your good friends Joe achiles and Stef abtv) so much more interesting than, here’s my new supercar, here’s me modifying my supercar and the inevitable, I’m selling my supercar usual routine of a lot of you tubers. My condolences for your friend
I thoroughly enjoyed this video and so sorry to hear of the passing of your friend and work colleague. You really nailed it on this whole CoVID-19 thing its a bit surreal figures and charts every night that after a while fades into the background until it hits home. I also noticed how much I share in common having worked in Telecoms with BT for 10 years then moving into IT back to telecoms on the early VoIP stuff( back in IT), obviously like most guys love the cars and technology, I also enjoy cycling and as it happens my daughter is in her final year in Aeronautical/ Mechanical engineering at Uni. Anyway wanted to say how much I enjoyed and in respect of monetising the channel for what its worth I would subscribe and pay if more content was as informative, interesting or entertaining as your channel, keep it up 👍
I'm a bit new to this but just de badged my Macan and looks great, I worked with a load of guys at Dynamics round 1991...great Chanel and always tune in while she is in the bath...great job and thanks for bringing a smile!
I really enjoyed that. Nice to hear the story behind the man . It’s pretty rare for a you tuber to share anything personal, nice refreshing change. Thank you and good luck with your plans.
@@PetrolPed if you ever want to do reviews on some older cars have a look at www.modernclassics.cc I Set this up a few years ago and always happy to lend to you if you think it would make interesting content. Email me via the website if you are interested so I don’t have to put my email address on here. it’s mark@ All the best
Our deepest condolences. Hang on to the good memories. And by the way I'm sure you're up for the job to present a big tv show. Fifth gear stuff? Can't wait to see that happen.
Great advice there PP - I spent 13 years in a role that gradually changed into something with no opportunity and that I didn’t want to do. With 2 kids it was a massive leap to give up a job that I knew inside out and move on to something new. I’m so glad I moved on and found something different!
Hi Pete, condolences on the loss of your friend and mentor mate, these are very sad and trying times for sure! Really interesting to see how you're life and career panned out, and how we find you today as my favourite RUclips channel. Back in the late 80s I was building components for Lynx helicopter radar systems, under the umbrella of the Ferranti company, really interesting job too 👍. I reckon you will get the job on TV you desire mate, you're a natural at the presentation game. Take care mate, stay safe everyone 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁
Quite a CV Pete! Really interesting and the progression makes sense. Best of luck for your future aspirations. Condolences re your work colleague and friend Alan Main.
Great video, I also started my career in Engineering for British Aerospace, but at Hamble and more recently gained my CertEd, with the hope to train within industry at some point. Sorry to hear about your friend, a very sad loss, this video was a kind and thoughtful tribute to him, well done. Thanks
good and interesting work background you shared Pete, as for virtual training, done a fair few IT courses through QA, and it works for me being in the highlands of Scotland and courses not always available in Scotland, and saves on travel/accommodation costs, 3 and 5 day classes and good platform with digital whiteboards, projector, and in-class mics, so we can all communicate. Can't recommend it enough. Last one was ITIL4 Foundation and class was in London, and 9 of us were remote over 3 days. i think it would be good for you to experiment with the virtual class format, more time not travelling, more time you get to spend with the family, YT, cars and TV work perhaps. Good luck with whatever you do 👍👍👍😎
Well Mr Ped. That was a very open and honest insight into your work life...... refreshing change to most on here. All the best for the future 👍🏻. Can see the corporate trainer in you when talking about your work life. Welcome everyone, let’s go round the room etc etc 😂🤣😂🤣 not having a dig, just your relaxed approach to speaking about your work. Been to a few like that
Superb video, love the background info and so sorry for your loss. Just found out, my photography instructor from the RAF, way back in 1985 has just lost his life, too, another great guy. Well, I think your content is great, from what I have seen so far. Good luck for the future and here’s to you being successful in these ventures.
Brilliant video. Love the progression through your career very interesting. I’ve ended working for one of the largest telecoms companies in the uk a couple years ago. Best job I’ve had in my life. It’s a industry I just feel you never stop learning in this field. Compared to retail style work I came from before.
That is absolutely marvelous. I found this so interesting-helpful for me someone who started his own Tech co a year ago and someone who keeps some contract (corporate work) going in tech while I build mytechcoach. I love hearing how people got to where they are now, their career trajectory and yours, Pete is no exception. Thank you for sharing and all you youngsters out there, take a page from Petrol Peg’s book. Try different things yet find your “theme”, your passion combined with special skillz. Inspiring, my friend. Good luck as you build the brand....speaking of which, where’s the link for my Petrol Ped T Shirt. 😃
Respect to you Pete keep up the good work pal you deserve all the success in the world. Only know you via u tube but you’d be the sort of mate I’d want good job buddy👍
Pete you are quite inspirational mate.... You are a really positive guy and even that potted work history was so interesting.... We both (wifey and I) wish you well in your next career choice 👍
What a great personal vlog and a lovely tribute to your friend. Next time I walk past you at FoS I will say “hi”. Saw you at FoS 2019 and didn’t want to bother you.
👍❤. Thank you for sharing some of your life story. It was interesting to know about your journey through education & work history untill now. I hope i get to see your TV program somehow here in Australia.
Very kind and generous to tell us about your life! What a great life full of ambition, passion, and open minded with others! I follow you thanks to Joe, as a BMW fan (well, a straight six RWD BMW fan 🤣), and with your great cars (top config..) and great wife 😁, I will now way more follow you !! This video has the right "message" to the covid19 : we could just be happy to be safe, at home.. and therefore, we will enjoy greatly our cars with sunny conditions this summer! (well, we may hope that..) Thks a lot, a "French fan" owner of a '09 MX5 😁
I fell in love with Paris and France when I lived there and now I must visit ever year. Just hoping our planned holiday to Antibes this summer will be possible 🤞
Petrol Ped Oh great 😍. Yes you quite said it in the video with your wife, "going to the south of France is magic" 😁😁. In fact, my sister worked for Texas Instruments, in Sophia Antipolis and lived in Cagnes s/Mer, next to great Antibes 😃. 👍 And for now, I'm just next to Versailles, there are worst places to live in France. 😁 You said have worked in Paris in this vlog indeed ! 😉😉 Great all of that, we all hope that this summer will be OK... 🤞🤞 See you! ☺️
Hard worker right there. Well done mate. I'm a contractor as well and empathise with the "big leap" from security. But the freedom is priceless. Keep going!
@@PetrolPed Good idea. It took me a while to go for it, but I listened to my peers and they helped me gain confidence. Who knows how many would watch that would take that advice from you as well. 1st hand evidence tells a great story. All the emotions etc. Could be really good to hear for someone.
Petrol Ped hi Pete what does my channel name come up as because a couple of other youtubers have mistaken my name as henry archer but in the comments people call me Harry (my name) so I’m a bit confused 😂
Loved this and particularly the tribute to your friend. I expect he would have said the same about you had it been the other way round. Keep the videos coming, always very enjoyable.
Nicely put. And that's how I met you - as a delegate on one of your 2 day bespoke telecoms training courses! Here we are some 4 or so years on and hasn't things and the world changed since! 👍
Very inspiring story of your career. I will share this video to my son and watch it together to get some inspiration. God bless you and I wish you all the best in life 🙏🇬🇧🇵🇭
Quite an inspiring journey you've had and also a small world - I too am a IET CEng but stuck in telecoms (been there far too long and would love a change of scenery!) and have done numerous Wraycastle courses over the years although never made it to the castle itself :( I can imagine your persona being well matched to presenting quite 'dry' topics when it comes to the nitty gritty of networks and the like :D The best bit about the training courses always seemed to be the free lunch ;) This was only the second video of yours I've seen so you've made a good impression :)
Now way 👏👏👏 Sadly Wray Castle training moved out of the castle many years ago and yes the lunches were legendary 👌 It’s now a National Trust property 👍
Sorry to hear about your friend pete. Thanks for sharing your background it was very interesting to hear. Follow your dreams and never give up or let anyone put you down mate 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 ( Always Thums up from me ped )
A really interesting Vlog! I was the second year of GCSEs and I also messed up my A-levels! Instead of going to Plymouth to do Business Studies, I did a HND in Computing. Good luck with the remote training. We had some Yellow Belts trained remotely during lockdown and I think it went better than expected.
Glad everything worked out in your life, Pete. You’re such a nice bloke you deserve to be successful 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
I agree, you're are a really nice guy

I really enjoyed that. Nice to hear the story behind the man . It’s pretty rare for a you tuber to share anything personal, nice refreshing change. Thank you and good luck with your plans.
Thanks Mark 👍
@@PetrolPed if you ever want to do reviews on some older cars have a look at www.modernclassics.cc
I Set this up a few years ago and always happy to lend to you if you think it would make interesting content. Email me via the website if you are interested so I don’t have to put my email address on here. it’s mark@
All the best
Thank you a insight into your life and experiences. Very interesting. Sad to hear of your loss. Best wishes.
Cheers Martin 👍
Watched a couple of car reviews, and now this. Subscribed, good luck!
Thanks for the Sub and welcome to the channel 👍
Wow, what a great journey!! Great inspiration, I want to change the direction of my career as well. Condolences to Alan, all the best.
Thank you. Follow your dreams and work really hard and you will be fine 👍
Our deepest condolences. Hang on to the good memories. And by the way I'm sure you're up for the job to present a big tv show. Fifth gear stuff? Can't wait to see that happen.
That would be amazing 😬
Love theses walks and the pouches. Stay safe Ped
Thanks Penny 🙏🏻
Great advice there PP - I spent 13 years in a role that gradually changed into something with no opportunity and that I didn’t want to do. With 2 kids it was a massive leap to give up a job that I knew inside out and move on to something new. I’m so glad I moved on and found something different!
Great to hear it worked out for you Ian 👏👏👏
Hi Pete, condolences on the loss of your friend and mentor mate, these are very sad and trying times for sure! Really interesting to see how you're life and career panned out, and how we find you today as my favourite RUclips channel. Back in the late 80s I was building components for Lynx helicopter radar systems, under the umbrella of the Ferranti company, really interesting job too 👍. I reckon you will get the job on TV you desire mate, you're a natural at the presentation game. Take care mate, stay safe everyone 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍🏁
Thanks Bud. I remember Ferranti 👍
Quite a CV Pete! Really interesting and the progression makes sense. Best of luck for your future aspirations. Condolences re your work colleague and friend Alan Main.
Thanks Andrew 🙏🏻
Great video, I also started my career in Engineering for British Aerospace, but at Hamble and more recently gained my CertEd, with the hope to train within industry at some point. Sorry to hear about your friend, a very sad loss, this video was a kind and thoughtful tribute to him, well done. Thanks
🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks Pete, looking forward to the show in June.
Cheers Monty 👍
good and interesting work background you shared Pete, as for virtual training, done a fair few IT courses through QA, and it works for me being in the highlands of Scotland and courses not always available in Scotland, and saves on travel/accommodation costs, 3 and 5 day classes and good platform with digital whiteboards, projector, and in-class mics, so we can all communicate. Can't recommend it enough. Last one was ITIL4 Foundation and class was in London, and 9 of us were remote over 3 days.
i think it would be good for you to experiment with the virtual class format, more time not travelling, more time you get to spend with the family, YT, cars and TV work perhaps. Good luck with whatever you do 👍👍👍😎
QA is one of my main clients 👍
Another cracking video one of the best guys on RUclips keep it up and stay safe 👍
Thanks Matt 👍
Well Mr Ped. That was a very open and honest insight into your work life...... refreshing change to most on here. All the best for the future 👍🏻. Can see the corporate trainer in you when talking about your work life. Welcome everyone, let’s go round the room etc etc 😂🤣😂🤣 not having a dig, just your relaxed approach to speaking about your work. Been to a few like that
Cheers 👍
This is one of the best videos you've done, very enjoyable
Thanks Andrew. Wish they were all this easy to make 😂
Superb video, love the background info and so sorry for your loss. Just found out, my photography instructor from the RAF, way back in 1985 has just lost his life, too, another great guy. Well, I think your content is great, from what I have seen so far. Good luck for the future and here’s to you being successful in these ventures.
Sorry for your loss 😢
Genuinely top bloke. All the best to you for the future 👍
Thank you 🙏🏻
Brilliant video. Love the progression through your career very interesting. I’ve ended working for one of the largest telecoms companies in the uk a couple years ago. Best job I’ve had in my life. It’s a industry I just feel you never stop learning in this field. Compared to retail style work I came from before.
I learn something every day. Telecoms just never stops 👌
Glad this was useful Greg. PP merch can be found here...

Hi pp, awesome vlog as always. 👍
I do like your walk and talk with the girls! Very sad for the loss of your good friend to covid 19!
⚘RIP⚘
Thanks Stella 🙏🏻
Enjoyed the insight. Sorry for your loss.
Thanks 🙏🏻
Respect to you Pete keep up the good work pal you deserve all the success in the world. Only know you via u tube but you’d be the sort of mate I’d want good job buddy👍
Thanks mate. Kind of you to say. Interacting with you guys feels like I’ve got a big bunch of mates 👏
Pete you are quite inspirational mate.... You are a really positive guy and even that potted work history was so interesting.... We both (wifey and I) wish you well in your next career choice 👍
Thanks Chris. You guys stay safe 🙏🏻
What a great personal vlog and a lovely tribute to your friend. Next time I walk past you at FoS I will say “hi”. Saw you at FoS 2019 and didn’t want to bother you.
You really must Paul. I love meeting you lot 👍
👍❤. Thank you for sharing some of your life story. It was interesting to know about your journey through education & work history untill now.
I hope i get to see your TV program somehow here in Australia.
It is being disrupted globally so let’s hope you guys get to see it 👍
Very kind and generous to tell us about your life!
🤞🤞 See you! ☺️
Thank you Peter, stay well and prosper
And you mate 👍
Hard worker right there. Well done mate. I'm a contractor as well and empathise with the "big leap" from security. But the freedom is priceless. Keep going!
Might do a vid on that 👍
@@PetrolPed Good idea. It took me a while to go for it, but I listened to my peers and they helped me gain confidence. Who knows how many would watch that would take that advice from you as well. 1st hand evidence tells a great story. All the emotions etc. Could be really good to hear for someone.
Keep up the good work Ped! Love watching your vids 👍
Thanks Russ 👍
Love the dog walk chats 👍🏻 so sorry about your friend 😔
Thanks Lee 👍
Can’t wait to watch this one!
Love the dog walk chats!
Great to hear 👍
Petrol Ped hi Pete what does my channel name come up as because a couple of other youtubers have mistaken my name as henry archer but in the comments people call me Harry (my name) so I’m a bit confused 😂
Great video Pete. Hope it all works out for you the way you want.
Thanks John. Me too 👍
Loved this and particularly the tribute to your friend. I expect he would have said the same about you had it been the other way round. Keep the videos coming, always very enjoyable.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
@@PetrolPed incidentally I bought my first Porsche, the Cayman S last June and love it to bits. Cheers.
Nicely put. And that's how I met you - as a delegate on one of your 2 day bespoke telecoms training courses! Here we are some 4 or so years on and hasn't things and the world changed since! 👍
Oh yes...and I know how to wash my car properly now 😂
Very inspiring story of your career. I will share this video to my son and watch it together to get some inspiration. God bless you and I wish you all the best in life 🙏🇬🇧🇵🇭
Thank You 🙏🏻
Very interesting you certainly have had a great job history, wish you all the best with the future plans you have...
Cheers Adrian 👍
Quite an inspiring journey you've had and also a small world - I too am a IET CEng but stuck in telecoms (been there far too long and would love a change of scenery!) and have done numerous Wraycastle courses over the years although never made it to the castle itself :( I can imagine your persona being well matched to presenting quite 'dry' topics when it comes to the nitty gritty of networks and the like :D The best bit about the training courses always seemed to be the free lunch ;) This was only the second video of yours I've seen so you've made a good impression :)
Now way 👏👏👏
Sadly Wray Castle training moved out of the castle many years ago and yes the lunches were legendary 👌 It’s now a National Trust property 👍
Well done and very good Vlog and the respect you have paid to your friend Alan very moving . wish you all the luck in the world chap
Thanks 🙏🏻
RIP Alan, you have done a good job training Ped, keep up the good work mate and good luck with all your future plans :)
Thanks Martin 👍
Sorry to hear about your friend pete. Thanks for sharing your background it was very interesting to hear. Follow your dreams and never give up or let anyone put you down mate
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
( Always Thums up from me ped )
Cheers 👍
A really interesting Vlog! I was the second year of GCSEs and I also messed up my A-levels! Instead of going to Plymouth to do Business Studies, I did a HND in Computing. Good luck with the remote training. We had some Yellow Belts trained remotely during lockdown and I think it went better than expected.
Cheers Neil 👍
Honest about your journey will always gain support. Alan may he rest in peace.
Thanks Tony 🙏🏻
Really enjoyed the content. So sorry for the loss of your friend. Stay safe.
Cheers David 👍
Nice touch Pete with the dedication to your pal Alan, stay safe 👍
Cheers Steve 👍
