I was at this show, just to the left of the sound booth, and there were a couple of people around me you could tell had never seen Tool before, and since it was a festival, they might have been at Aftershock to see other bands and possibly had either barely or never heard of the band before. And they stood there just mesmerized.
this is what I like to hear, the stories are endless man, from security to police Tools something else entirely! This was the closest I've ever been to them and I felt truly amazing.
Those of us who have been fans since the 90s are super excited they are out there performing live shows like this again. Ticket sale experience has come a long way since standing in line at 7am at the grocery store hung over to buy real tickets with stubs
I have been watching every upload of RS I see, and this is the 2nd or 3rd night that I’ve seen them do it. It’s getting progressively better lol. So much information packed into a 10 minute tune. I did hear that they pulled it out of their ass at the last minute for this tour, but who knows. Thanks for posting this bro
I seriously doubt they pulled it out their ass for this tour. There's a video from Adam Jones instagram like 4-6 months ago and they were practicing it.
@@jamescooper-hope6930 They came with Meshuggah for ours. It was an amazing night. My date and I were 20, drank a whole fifth of green apple-flavored Smirnoff Twist waiting for our friends to pick us up. Spectacular show. Tool's performance mixed with my liquor-befuddled brain made the whole experience feel like some profound acid trip.
love that they dusted this off and added in extra measures of music for once maynard isnt the one messing up. Nothing wrong with the band but they should have rehearsed a little bit more. What's crazy is they still end up together on this song. The counting that goes on in your head for all 4 guys is insane. Then the technical issues with Danny's kit and he still finds away to come out strong with the Tom's is beautiful. I'd almost rather hear them fuck up to see how they all end up back in the pocket
I was there and I was noticing this, but I thought maynard just came in early, but your verison makes more sense the band forgot the change? idk I agree this moment humanizes them and makes me appreciate them that much more. What were the Issues with the Kit?
Yeah that is exactly the problem. Two guys standing up front and staring at the floor. One guy in the dark in the back that should be working the crowd. Drummer. Cool video presentation but sterile. Every live show they do has been about the same for years.
Tool must play at the new sphere in Las Vegas ! Soon!
That would be absolutely fucking AMAZING!!!!
Seriously
I was there opening night thinking the same thing! The footage from power trip could definitely be used
Epic yes it would be 🔥
Oh shit. Their visuals would be insane.

You are very welcome

You don't just pull Rosetta Stoned out of your ass.
Just saw it last night in Portland. They fucking nailed it. Never thought I'd get to hear this jam live. So happy.
I've seen Tool live twice over the years (Lateralus '02 and 10,000 Days '07). The most amazing live shows I've ever been to.
Laser show is sick!
Saw the Lateralus tour with Melvins in support. Unfknbelieveable.

They have come so far from the humble beginnings of the early 90s. Amazing to see them grow into the band they are today.
Awesome! Thankyou. 💓
Taking my 22yo son to the Tacoma concert! THANK YOU for the upload!!!
I'll be there too!
Thanks for posting! I was there and they sounded amazing! A glitch here or there but it was awesome!
Going to knoxville to see these guys can not wait!!!!!!
Awesome footage! Will have to watch entirety later 👍🏼👍🏼
That thing was cute
I love hearing Danny play RS.
Thank you for the upload. That was an enjoyable experience.
This song is so difficult to play they are still messing it up on the second night. Thanks for the upload!
This one is better then the first one tho
@@bakedbeast9043ehh atleast maynard nailed every part
You're welcome, I'm just happy they played it live
That was the mandala pads messing up in the middle
jiggle the cord!!@@Ibanez527
Oh hell yes.
Shit the Bed, that was awesome. Great video 🔧🌀🔧🌀
thanks for recording and sharing!
Saw them live in 2022, hopefully gonna see them again in February 2024.
same. Bonnaroo and hopefully Dallas!
Saw them open with this at the Chicago Theater when they toured this album. Still my favorite song by them. And before you trash me- Fuck off.
Oh it's fckin gold man. And this is probably the best live video of this track I've seen so far
one more month till i see them live hope they play this
Me too!
They’ve played it almost every single set list this tour so you’ll probably get to hear it!
Oh this is fabulous! Thank you!
“Can’t remember what I said”
God damn, shit the bed!
MJK needs some serious rehearsal on this one lmao
When did he say this?
@@AL-31 it's a joke on the lyrics "Can't remember what he said to me" lol
“Can’t remember the fucking song”
Exquisite quality 💯👌
HELL YES!
Just wow
6:59 that sound is crazy, Danny’s electronic pad must’ve started glitching because it sounds like he switches to his toms.
I was wondering if that was supposed to happen. Sounded kind of cool.
@@josephbradley1148 haha yeah really unique sounding too.
Almost sounds cooler. Way more in your fucking face
I thought it was Adam Jones’ solo/pedal glitching
Nah I was there, the stage had that glitch on a couple different bands
Wonderful!!
The smoothest riff ever starts at 2:50
In the studio version its at 6:44
Maynard is so weird and I love him for it
Saw this in 2006 at Staples Center...first song they played.
God I NEED to see TOOL live.
Yes you do.
Just paid $481 for two tickets , definitely not missing out
The fellas are on point here.
Amazing!
The Best Song 🥲
TOOL featuring Maynard from Puscifer
Danny is fuckin insane dude
Énorme
Tool's overhere trying to open an inter-dimensional portal..
"like the time Dave floated away"....who tf is Dave?
Very nice. Now let’s see wings for Marie

Maynard fucked up not the band
@@thevegantattooartist9066 he messed up right at the end lol the band was never in time with each other the whole song
He's been on the four thr33 years dam near your ass I hope.
Ands That's a trilogy of your (*update "tour"*) dates. Try listening to culling

They only get better.
Man I wish Maynard didn't use filter effect on his voice. He does it for Vicarious also but I don't think it's necessary.
Can't believe they won't film a show, like wtf. Best show in the world and all we get is bad sounding phone cam.
ye, go see them yourself bud
@@loopeygoopey I have thanks but that's not an option for most people bud
🙂
They did not shit the bed
Boys were a little rough on this one.
I usually skip forward through this song, but live is another level! Thanks!
how could you skip through it 😢
Wtf?!
Skipping thru rosetta stoned is an actual sin
Nice video presentation and mix. Front man that stands in the dark in the back. Pretty boring.
First time eh?
Don’t need a showy front man with a sound like this. The drummer is more fun to watch anyway. This band doesn’t have a front man actually.

Tool's stage presence blows!
😂 what stage, I was 2 busy having an OBE 2 notice 1
you must be new here
I remember the first time I saw Tool too 😜
😂😂😂😂 you should delete this
@trj1969 why? Are some highschool burnouts gunna be mean to me on the internet?
Saw them in 1993. Janus landing. 700 people
