What an exceptionnal find ! This band is a treasure. I've seen everything and A happy pocket rank amongst the greatest 90's lps.
AHP and ISE are my #1 and #2.
@@rschreck Each TCS album is a gem but I have to say I agree with you, these two are special. (maybe because I discovered the band through them)
A Happy Pocket is probably my favourite as well
A truly great band.
Great band.
Thanks for this gem. I discovered them through this show...they blew me away and still do nearly thirty years later. No disco was a great show for promoting great undiscovered bands in 90s Ireland. Donal Dineen..we owe you!
superstar manners
Thanks for uploading this. I think they are unfairly under recognized.
My favourite band, and I discovered them through this TV programme, though well before this interview.
Fast forward to 2003 and John Douglas writes the melody to Wild Mountainside - the only song of the 21st century so far that merits being heard 500 yrs from now.
Fantastic, thanks a million for sharing
Wow, fab clip
Watching this again, 9:24, "big book of phrases that make us laugh and then set them to a rhythm", kinda way I hear a lot of TCS songs, wit plus melody, yeah, I like, but, "you know", there's one phrase in a song here, the same one with "run for el presidente", that goes "I'm harry, hello", which doesn't make me laugh at all because it reminds me of seeing a spooky French thriller around the first time I heard TCS called "Harry, he's here to help", which is one of those "little did they know that they befriended a psychopath" films. Can't remember if it was any good, nor have any interest in seeing again, but for that one section of the verse, "I'm harry, hello", that's a trigger every time. and yet "beautiful girl in a rural spot that gets larger as she gets nearer" in the same song. moscow is indeed in ayrshire. really, tcs lyrics, lots of fleeting impressions from great little phrases non-stop is often the way but the songs are in no sense a video in words either. Shut it. 11:45 onwards: the parameters of self-belief

ha...I can't understand a word John is saying!
''The much lamented Go-Betweens, they're Scottish, they've produced two classic albums, both of which sold, not a lot, they're currently putting the finishing touches to a turd.. '' If they're are still Washington state hipsters, missed the boat darlings.
Don't let my bloodrush... in vain :) Who does not know what this says :)
