In the 1960s, I weighed 89 pounds. In the 1970s, I weighed 92 pounds. That was pretty much stable adult weight until I turned 45. I doubled my weight in about 6 months. I didn't change anything. I ate moderately and healthy; I got exercise. The problem is, I got older. The media would have you think that women were thinner in previous decades. Well, I've got a family photo album that goes back to the end of the 19th century (around 1870 or so). EVERY SINGLE WOMAN in my family line is slender until menopause. Even the women who went through the depression turned obese if menopause for them occurred during that decade. Recent studies are showing that the hormonal imbalances of menopause trigger the storage of body fat . So, media, I agree with Sarah Millican and I say to you, "F*ck off. YOU'RE going to get old too--and don't think the weight gain is relegated to only post-menopausal women. Men get fat, too.
It’s safer and healthier for older women to have some body fat. To a degree ofc, but still. Just wish people could just be allowed to live their life without everyone shitting on them all the time...
I so love Sarah - she's my favorite. My wife did that ballooning thing but she weighed more to start with. Same thing tho. Blame it on whatever you like, for the last 20 years she has exercised and eaten sometimes so little I thought she'd just fall over. No change. We're the same height and she outweighs me by a little. She beats herself to a pulp exercising and - nothing. I eat carefully and sit in a recliner... without beating myself to a pulp. Same result, y'see? @@lukakaps9548 That is not a valid comparison. A schizophrenic person is sick. An overweight person might have a higher risk of becoming sick with certain illnesses but doesn't HAVE TO become sick. Hi, Mark! I agree that she's terrific, but I always think of a National Treasure as being something buried in a box under an oak tree in Sherwood Forest with a big red X marking the spot... ;-)
Sarah Millican and Miranda Hart are truly inspiring to me. I don't think there are any prominent curvy, tall and funny women in my country, but I do identify with them. I'm also self confident, a lot of a woman and can laugh about it. And I just love that for example, in the series Miranda, there is a loving, great man who adores the funny, loud and curvy woman. I wish I had seen that in my teen years when I was insecure about my body. But I still learned that there's nothing better than having loyal and funny people around you that you can trust instead of trying to be a beauty queen
I tried for years to fight against my body and stay slim, all it did was make me miserable. I will never forget the day I stopped hating myself, stopped killing myself in the gym and starving myself. I'm much happier now that I eat lasagne and hot chips and have lumps and bumps. I do get criticised by family for being fat but I'd rather be fat and happy than skinny and miserable.
I do so just love her. As another ‘giant’ I can relate. Let’s all celebrate ourselves, and just love ourselves just as we are. If God had wanted us to be thin she wouldn’t have invented banoffee pie now would she, or chocolate mousse, or creme brûlée , or mango fool, or Christmas pudding and Cornish clotted cream .........seeing a trend here ? , or gin and tonic, or any alcohol for that matter. Just love us as we are and don’t try and make us conform!!!!!!!!!!
Umm 🤔, I’m pretty sure the devil invented all of those irresistible treats. But I say, if that’s the worst weakness I have (& NOT drugs, overindulgence in alcohol, self-harm, bullying, cigarettes, bigotry, or anything else that could harm others), I’m perfectly fine with being rounder than what may be considered ‘ideal’ for my height. The people I know who aren’t thin seem to be much happier (or at least, content) than the thin folks. Eat something, I want to say to all those who deny themselves desserts. It may make you feel less angry and frustrated all the time!!😁
@Jeff Bridger some people can be healthy, exercise, eat well but eat too much healthy food and be fat, your point is stupid but yes, some fat is unhealthy

As someone who has struggled with her body after babies, Thank you for this!
I love that Sarah really embraces body positivity
I do so just love her. As another ‘giant’ I can relate.
Let’s all celebrate ourselves, and just love ourselves just as we are. If God had wanted us to be thin she wouldn’t have invented banoffee pie now would she, or chocolate mousse, or creme brûlée , or mango fool, or Christmas pudding and Cornish clotted cream .........seeing a trend here ? , or gin and tonic, or any alcohol for that matter. Just love us as we are and don’t try and make us conform!!!!!!!!!!
Or Alaska Bombe ;)
Umm 🤔, I’m pretty sure the devil invented all of those irresistible treats. But I say, if that’s the worst weakness I have (& NOT drugs, overindulgence in alcohol, self-harm, bullying, cigarettes, bigotry, or anything else that could harm others), I’m perfectly fine with being rounder than what may be considered ‘ideal’ for my height. The people I know who aren’t thin seem to be much happier (or at least, content) than the thin folks. Eat something, I want to say to all those who deny themselves desserts. It may make you feel less angry and frustrated all the time!!😁
@Jeff Bridger some people are just bigger or have conditions that make them large
@Jeff Bridger some people can be healthy, exercise, eat well but eat too much healthy food and be fat, your point is stupid but yes, some fat is unhealthy
I LOVE this woman.
Dear me
*can't stop smiling*
Thanks for my daily fix of happiness!

Imagine getting into an argument with her at a checkout somewhere thinking she's just some random housewife and she absolutely rips you apart with words 😂
I love her she’s a good comedian always makes me laugh she’s a smart girl Knows her job,
I remember way, way back, I went to a Restaurant here in Australia and was introduced to Garlic Prawns as an entree- loved them so much I asked for another lot - had a Garlic meal for the main course but when they offered desert, I said I'd like another serving of the Garlic Prawns- I was a flight attendant at the time and the next day working a passenger complained of the strong smell of garlic and he was going to be sick - told the other attendant and she said it's you- I spent the rest of the flight doing the setup and stayed away from the cabin 😂

Ooh, I love that dress! And the shoes. Nice combo!
I love her dress too.
It would be great as
window curtains !
😎
Me too its the most flattering
@@chrisbennett3601 well if the Sound of Music taught me anything, it's that you can make the cutest outfits out of a pair of curtains!
Inez De Kleine If you liked The Sound of Music, I recommend watching “Enchanted” (with Amy Adams & Patrick Dempsey). Another cute and fun movie...
@@HRHDMKYT I didn't like the sound of music, I was just something we watched on Christmas Day. I did, however, like Enchanted. That dress shaped cut-out (did I spell that right?) is hilarious! Not to mention the 'New York version' of helpful animals...🤣
My Belly is a sign of my wealth! LOL
I wish I could like this more than once!
