    0:27 - The caption of "104 PF" is wrong. "104" indicates the significant figures of "1" and "0" followed by four more zeros. The unit is picofarads, so the capacitor has a value of 100,000 picofarads, more commonly referred to as "0.1 microfarad."

      So, the capacitor value is shown wrong, because on these kinds of circuits, a common value should be from 10 to 100pf.

      That is not how it works, you will need additional RF amplifier in order to increase the range

    Make a second video, this time add a dipole aerial (straight piece of wire) 0.833m long in one direction and another piece of wire 0.833m long connected to your ground in the opposite direction. Also don't touch the circuitry when you are testing it.

    I believe that first capacitor is a 0.01 micro farad, not 104 pico farad if i understand my marking conventions correctly.

    Ted_van_ loon you're absolutely correct. He didn't tune the coil by opening it and closing it to get the proper frequency on the radio.

    Only one slight problem, and that is that the coil needs to be tuned. the length of the wire also has a effect on the impedance.

      You're absolutely correct Ted! He has to open and close the coil wire to get it tuned correctly instead of just tapping the microphone over and over. When you hear a shrill squeal on the radio. You then have the right radio frequency too.

    but is it truly FM? And what diameter is that coil? The one cap you say is 104 pf is not. it is a .1 microfarad capacitor. The other is correct at 4.7 pf. And I bet you can't be heard across the street. Silly project.

    Does not work for me. Maybe because I'm using 3,3k ohms instead of 4,7k ohms, but that's unlikely.
    Also in the video you are doing 6 turns, not 5.
    Btw the reason he uses a 2655 transistor is because the maximum switching frequency of that transistor is 100Mhz, so he uses it to set the frequency.
    He is probably using a 3,7V battery.

      its insulated copper wire. just go to local electrical shop and ask for 14 gauge insulated wire and they will know.

      Realmente, faltou mais componentes.
      No basico, um eletrolitico de 200uf com um ceramico de 100nf em paralelo com a alimentação o mais proximo do positivo da bobinha ociladora.
      Um trimer em paralelo com a bobina ociladora que deveria ter uma saida para a antena na segunda espira proximo ao positivo.
      Um sistor de 3k9 entre base e negativo.
      Um capacitor ceramico pra desacoplamento de 10 a 20 nf em paralelo com o resistor 4k7.
      Um resistor de 2k7 no positivo pra alimentar o microfone de eletreto qu deve enviar seu sinal por um capacitor de 1uf pra base do transistor.
      Um trimpote de 10k pra ajustar a entrada de áudio.
      Nao creio que este circuito forneça alcance de 1000 metros sem outro circuito de amplificação de RF

    kkkkkkk capacitor 104 nao e 104 pico pf nao,,, quando temos um capacitor com tres numeros o terceiro e numeros de zeros por exemplo um capacitor de codigo 104 e (10+0000. que e 100000 pulando tres zeros da direita pra esquerda colocamos um ponto que (100.000) pra cada 1000pf e um nf , 1000pf= 1 nf.. 1000nf

    Einen UKW-Sender auf diese Weise herzustellen ist geradezu abenteuerlich. Die Frequenz ist total instabil und der Betrieb damit ist verboten ! Es können damit auch andere Funkdienste gestört werden !
