I love Kirk. People are dicks. Because fucking he can't be listed top 10 fastest shredders ever people bash him. Those people all suck at guitar. Yeah. Fuck everyone who isn't Paul Gilbert and Marty Friendman. Kirk is a great guitar player and a nice funny guy
I love Kirk, the hate he gets for not being the best at guitar is stupid. He’s the reason many of us are even playing guitar and he wrote many iconic solos. I just think since Metallica is the biggest metal band that is easier to pick on him.
Bingo. Who decides "the best" anyway? Music is subjective, one will find something better than another, it is human nature. Arguing that player X has more talent than player Y is a waste of time, take what you can from the people that make music interesting for you and just enjoy.
?the best at guitar..shiit man you got it ALL wrong!!I've been listening to them simlnce I was just a little kid&by far from 83's killem all he was smokin!by 84's ride the lightening was FUKIN rip master&soforth man he's a FUKIN metal guitarist ICON!!I ADORED&WORSHIPPED KIRK I USED TO DAYDREAM ABOUT WANTING TO BE HIM WHEN I WAS A KID!HES FUKIN AWWESOME STILL!
Metallica is a class act. They are grateful for their fans and their success, they avoid opinions and politics, focussing 100% on the music, and playing every show as if it could be their last. They thanked St. Louis for a great night and even posted a video from the Cardinals locker room where they discussed their mistakes. Hetfield discusses the poor condition his throat was in before taking stage and how worn out he was after the show.
HE FOCKIN LEFT THE BAND -She's odd. I don't know if it's satire or if that's how she genuinely feels about Kirk, but she's been posting weird ass negative comments about him that aren't true.- Ok. I read another of her comments here. She's a fan-fiction writer in a sadomasochist relationship with Kirk. Kirk did bad things to her, and that's why she's posting things about him. xD
This is the guy who made me pick up a guitar. Not Jimmy Page, not Jimi Hendrix, not Slash, not EVH, not anyone else but Kirk (and and maybe James). Ride the Lightning was my beginning, Master of Puppets was my anthem. When I put Call of Ktulu on my Camaro's Alpine sound system, it grabbed me by the boo boo and never let go. He's an AMAZING guitarist, musician and just a cool dude.
metallica's wherever i may roam is the thing that just completely turned my mind about life, and how i am living it. now i listen to metal rock, before i use to hate it. they switched my mind, but specifically kirk. such an inspirational band.
It is really getting depressing hearing people talk about certain musicians in past tense, far too many have been lost in recent years. I really hope Kirk stays around for a long time yet.
always heard he wasn’t a great guitarist. So I was frustrated trying to play VH and Slash all the time and tried to play Kirks solos. Paaalllleeeeeeesseee. He’s crazy good.
A nice guy. I loved his solos in the 80's and 90's. For all you technical junkies.... You will grow up one day and realize that less is more and harder to play does not mean better.
Party Van always heard he wasn’t a great guitarist. So I was frustrated trying to play VH and Slash all the time and tried to play Kirks solos. Paaalllleeeeeeesseee. He’s crazy good.
Personally, I'd say Slash is the _the_ most soulful lead guitarist I've ever heard. He emotes through his choice of instrument more than any other lead guitar player as far as I'm concerned. Fuck Van Halen, fuck Buckethead and fuck Stevie Ray Vaughan - they might be able to play a million notes a second but they don't make me feel anything. Slash however is the real deal. Just my opinion.
Really nice what he said about Slash. What a nice humble person! This is a good example of maturity. I like Kirk a lot he was a huge influence on me learning playing guitar
not to spread a rumor or anything but I was reading a Guitar World interview and Kirk briefly mentioned something about a new album being worked on if I'm not mistaken, so maybe we will get some new material!!
His comments about Chris Cornell, seem as Real as it gets, so honest, and Heartfelt, nothing Fake about missing a true Friend, sadness shows on his Face about his passing.
James used to like to make fun of Axl, and it was quite easy to do back then. Kirk is like a very young seeming guy with white hair. His voice sounds like he's about 15. He is very nice, he didn't say anything bad about Axl, and THAT surely wasn't easy.
@@spiritanimal8836 Maybe he is good now, BUT, back in the 1980's, he had trouble with his fame. Hopefully, he has now been able to deal with it all in a good way.
Dimitri Zeu not really, guess it’s just your fault for not finding what you want. Plenty of new artists that are great up and coming, if only you bother looking properly
I would agree with Dimitri Zeu only if the meaning of "great bands" meant rock arena bands worldwide known. Yes, this type of bands are going to extinct, just not because of computers compete with them on rock stage, but because of overavailibility of music nowadays (because it's cheaper now to produce and broadcast the music than ever) and internet piracy (illegal piracy like thepiratebay and legal piracy like Spotify, RUclips etc.), which causes complete lack of money in being a new, creative rock musician (not in music industry, they will always earn money). So what's left are "only" local new bands and local small dinosaurus sharing a festival scenes and just a very few big ones, still having their stadium audiences. Here's the good one documentary about that ruclips.net/video/qMlLfrU5fjs/видео.html
They played STL before that, they opened for Amored Saint and W.A.S.P. at the Animal House in 84. I lived in the apts above the Animal House and that was when I first heard of them, they were not even announced for the show, yet they opened followed by WASP, then Saint, who were riding high on the minor hit they had at the time, Can U Deliver.
I really hope I’m wrong but I think Kirk might be close to or even in that dark place right now. He is a deep guy but just his body language gave off a vibe.
I couldnt agree more. I saw gnr twice since they ve hooked back up. The third time i refused to go because no new material. Its all cash grab man. Put new material out and id love to come out and see them again. Gnr is by far my favorite band since 90.
First question was kinda stupid. Hey Randy Johnson, I know your a Megadeth fan but whats it like to play ball in a stadium that Metallica just played in?
I knew I wasn't the only one wondering about his T-shirt choice? Maybe just to look different than other Metalheads? He could wear a damn shower curtain and still be a mellow cool cat lol..
Kirk is a cool laid back dude ! Can't wait until next November at the Dome Already got my tickets. An Axl can kiss my ass! I was at the 91 riot at Riverport. Kirk is by far the nicest, most down to earth member of Metallica. Such a great guy and guitar player, regardless of what other people say.
Except Cliff. He's down to earth,
jonas brave literaly
Thomas Ingram, but he's not down to earth. Still the epitome of cool and he's really worked on himself which is impressive.
Kirk does seem super nice. But to be fair, Jason was/is known as the "nicest guy in metal".
This guy is egoless and it's awesome..
He needs 2b pushed
Inspiration
Against Mustain but Mustain better than him
I agree Kirks personality is always the opposite of James and Lars who definitely don’t have ego haha 🤔
what a nice guy
he is so humble, and has no ego at all, considering how successful metallica is.
Yup
Met Kirk in Miami airport. Just a quick hello and he was so kind and humble. I love this dude
I would die
Thats an amazing flex
imagine meeting kirk just casually walking down in an airport, god that would be great just to feel his presence in front of me.
That man has put some of the best solos on record you will hear.
damn right
Has he ever made a bad solo?
ikr
Is he the only guitarist that you've ever heard?
heinrich schwagel He said some of the "best solos". It means there are some good metal solos from others as well like Dimebag, Tipton, Kk Downing.
always liked kirk...a huge influence on me, never would have started playing guitar if it weren't for metallica. But man, he's such a goof !!
so don't forget slash's Snakepit
me too, in fact i wouldn't like metal and rock if it weren't for metallica.
God Bless Kirk Hammett!

one of the most iconic guitar players ever..

Kirk is such a cutie. I could totally hang out with that dork any day.
Aww, he was almost in tears there. Really cool guy!
Still watching from the Philippines , forever Metallica fans♥️🙏🇵🇭 stay safe
Kirk big comic book horror fan seems real down to earth prolly coolest guy in band by far 💀♠️😈💯
Looks hotter with age
He does. If you are into decrepit mops.
Men usually are
Kirk Hammet is aging pretty well, he looks better than in his 20’s and 30’s
60's kkkkkk
He looks worse now because he is older, but the look is better than when he was in his 20s and 30s.
@@LiquorMaster No not really
That "hey bro, how u do" it's prob the cutest thing i've ever heard
Kirk definitely showed more emotion than most in that band towards Fallen musicians..... buy expression and tone alone I guess
You can tell in his eyes and his face when he said guns was back in town it threw a flash back of the tour they was on
He is beautiful
