    I am glad this channel exists. Learning much. Still i think it take you several lifetimes to cover all 2.2 million laws in Canada. Question: If you committed a crime and did your time, should you just be accepted back into society as a regular law abiding citizen?

    Further to that, once you have your pardon (in my case)/record suspension you should seek out factual information on what this status will, or will not, grant you. For example, it will not allow you to cross the border into the USA without first being granted a waiver.
    Better have deep pockets because they are expensive. I'd rather just not visit the USA. My pardon was good enough for the Canadian gov't to allow me to serve in the military (often working with US troops on US bases in the US and overseas), but not good enough to allow me to cross the border to go for a shopping trip or vacay with my family.
    I'm pretty sure that if you wanted to apply for certain security clearances, you would have to confront that issue as well.
