Eel should have DEFINITELY been a simple re-issue, unless they had technical hurdles to jump through. I'd personally go 3, 2, 1...Serp, Beach, Eel.
As my first Eels and Beachhead Im completely satisfied with both. Deluxe Classified Snow Serpent still comes out of top for me, but probably only because Hasbro dropped the ball on the retro accessories. The retro blue seems to pop TOO much.. I'll wait to see it in person before picking that up.

The Classified one are my officers for my retros. I'm still waiting for Gridiron to do the loadouts for the Eel's & Snow Serpents, I have plenty of AK-47's.
Yeah, I'm wondering why they haven't yet.. but def go check out Mark2Design on Etsy and see if he still has that Retro EEL loadout in stock!

Great review! I agree Hasbro’s really missing the mark with the accessories. They have the perfect weapon for the snow serpents, the ak that came with the officer and Sgt slaughter. Never made sense they gave it with sarge.

Im torn, re-releasing hard to get figures under the guise of "Retro" but not making then 100% Retro is kind strange to me. I wasn't able to get any of these when the Classified versions came out. IDK I have Cobra Commander Retro coming he'll be my first Retro.
@cheferikthurman your first sentence is what it's all about- it's forced, it breaks up the point of retro, etc...

Great review! I never had the Eel as a kid and missed out on the classified version. I guess I just never looked back at the o ring figure to check out its gear. It’s a great figure, but I am very disappointed we didn’t get weapons and scuba pack that looks like the original. Not even the classified figure came with something that looked like the original. Oh, well.
And thanks for mentioning the name of the SMG that comes with Beach Head. I honestly had no idea it was based on a real world weapon. I just thought it was something the Hasbro designers came up with on their own. Learn something new everyday, I guess.
I might not be first to review these things, but what you'll get from me is DETAIL. I'll try to include the rl weapon names if I know them and also SHOW the parts they're re-using.
@@AToyKindaMood Thanks for that! I watched your review on the Night Creeper and was impressed you knew the names of the swords. Other reviewers didn’t and again I thought they were just made up. I might gripe about various things Hasbro does but I’m impressed they research the weapons they include. It was this attention to detail and your review that sold me on the NC figure. I now have three in preorder.

Great review and ranking. I agree with the order. I didn’t need any more eels. But it is nice for people to get eels that missed out on them last year. I got just one eel since the face is lighter. For snow serpents, I got 2 and will make the classified deluxe as the officer. Hopefully for future retro releases, they make more of an effort to give them their retro accessories as well. I hope someone 3-d prints those tennis racket snow shoes.

I also lament the omission of the retro accessories for Snow Serpent and Eel. I’ll get them from a 3rd party. I have three Classified Eels and Deluxe Snow Serpents. I’m good on the squads. Just getting one of these retro figures to mod out. I want lady Artic troopers and frog-women. I really like the Baroness that came in the anniversary multipack. I’d like a mostly red with grey accents options. A female Arctic gear trooper would be sweet too. The Baroness variant from that silly video game would make a good model to work off. I have brown/blue eyes Sneed. I’m very much looking forward to Retro. I had got extra Tiger RAMs to take a Duke and mix with Beachhead to add to the Tiger Force squad. I just haven’t done the boil and pop yet. Maybe when Retro gets here I’ll do that. Frogman Beachhead looks great. Just need Retro Flint to complete the command team. 2025 should see Major Bludd, Flint, Mindbender, Roadblock, Viper, Clutch, Serpentor, Jinx, and Wild Bill as three Retro wave releases to get highly desirable pieces out to collectors in different styles/colors/options.

Good review of the retro to classified companions.
The majority of this retro wave I am not ordering. In this one instance I liked the classified take of these more than the retro or faux retro version. It looks like loadouts are going to be more of a 3rd party reality with this six in Joe line.
My Jinx, Doc and Ret Beachhead all come tomorrow…. Had to go the individual seller route for all three of these for whatever reason. This wave itself is a tiresome on to have collected of the ones I’ve done so far. They’re usually super early, NOT this wave unless you went to an alternative seller to acquire, at least that is my case with the figs of this wave.

I personally think hasbro should do all the figures in retro line. Thats what people want and just look at flint classified looked like shit and Duke. At least the retro Duke looks decent and hopefully we get a retro flint.
