59 was my first doll! I actually like the hot water dunk because 59's layers can look too voluminous in my opinion. I'm also a sucker for straight hair. As 59 is my mini me, the straight hair makes sense too as I flat iron my hair a lot! I'm also surprised how clean the doll was! Great find

She looks so lovely now. What a great find. She looks cute in that outfit. I make a lot of doll clothes both knitting and crochet but use much finer yarn for mine as I have small hands.
I got a JLY #28 (2008-10 by clothing) brand-new in box (still attached) at our nearest thrift store for $40, mind you I live in WI so come across more than some might, but a lot of them are rescues and in not so good shape.

OMG SHE LOOKS SOOO GOOD!✨You are so amazing at restoring dolls! You are so lucky to find her at a thrift shop for that much! I've always dreamed of finding dolls in thrift stores, but it never happens to me.😭Anyway, I think doing the hot water dunk was a good decision, because her hair looks so much smoother and softer after that! And I actually think it looks better that way, because 59's layers sometimes look a little choppy. Great job! (Ps. She looks like a Rose, Natalie, or Taya!) Also I LOVE that top, it looks AMAZING on her!!!!
