@Jackson Wang See, you're actually not wrong. But Palpatine did enjoy making Jedi fight to the death for a chance at survival, then killing the winner. But that's basically what Sith torture is.
If you haven't read the Kanan comics I would really recommend them - that scene from The Bad Batch was done first by the comics, and in my opinion done far better.

The more I think about this scene the creeper it gets. The way the Inquisitor constantly addresses Kanan as "jedi" instead using his name is actually kind of insidious when you think about it. It feels like the Inquisitor is trying to dehumanize Kanan. Then there is the line about "What would your loyal follower think if they knew you were a coward?" That dig is designed to do double duty. It wasn't just to undermine Kanan's confidence in himself, it was to undermine his confidence in the rest of the ghost crew. Remember the Inquisitor thought he was going to have Kanan in custody for a long time. In short I'm pretty sure that the Inquisitor was trying to turn Kanan to the dark side in this scene.
I think it would be fitting because if you remember in the old canon or legends the inquisitors jobs was not only to hunt down jedi survivors but also convert them them to the darkside and serve the empire.
