- The western vibe of "x3 Showdown Combo" reminded me of this song, and it turns out that it fit the action really well. So I threw together a shitty Movie Maker version of it for all to enjoy.
Music kind of hiccups in the middle, as I had to chop out a lull. Song is "The Ecstasy of Gold" from The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly soundtrack.
Is there some kind of support group I can go to about Homestuck addiction please tell me.

This comment is going to be long, and will contain spoilers for homestuck.
Now, everyone is relieved that Eridan is dead (Or most everyone), and I agree, he needed to be put down. But I believe the level of hate we give Eridan is unnecessary. Eridan isn't my favorite Troll by any means. But I just have to say something in his defense. In school, I am a pretty lonely person, just like Eridan (Eridan doesn't go school of course, I'm relating via emotion). Eridan acts the way I did once, by expressing his emotions and goes too far. Kanaya had every right to saw him in half, in fact he was a plague to the team, and went too far. He needed help (mentaly) and never got it because, well, no one gave a fuck because he also acted like a douche. So what I'm saying is he was misunderstood, like I was, and went too far. I've never killed anyone, but I'm a human, and I'm possibly viewing this in too much of "human like way" but I had to share my thoughts, so please don't have a lengthy argument with me, I understand he screwed up really bad, but I am simply connecting his experiences with mine. I am sorry add this drama to you're viewing experience if you disliked my defensive maneuver, and congratulate you for reading that whole thing.
So as to sum this up, I think Eridan is misunderstood, but he still went too far.

This makes me actually think back to when Eridan and Feferi were still moirails. He was still pretty sane back then. Racist but still sane. Ever since Eridan had entered the game, however, he became mentally messed up. Without being able to share his emotions Feferi like he used to, he had no outlet other than violence and constantly pestering for companionship from the others when they don't want it. It's interesting to think of what will happen if Eridan and Feferi had stayed moirails throughout their session. Maybe he would have been a more useful and productive member of their team? They would all be in a doomed timeline but atleast this version of Eridan might have been a lot more tolerable.

Weirdly enough, I saw The Good The Bad and The Ugly two nights ago, and when this tune appeared during the cemetery scene, I couldn't help but think of this.

Now their descendants face off, Eridan (Dualscar), Vriska (Mindfang), and Gamzee (Highblood) are about to recreate history facing off in a threeway battle to the death and the winner is... Kanaya, the descendent of Mindfang's nameless Sex-slave that Dualscar killed. History doesn't always repeat.

While I really don’t like Eridan(as in I would hate to have a conversation and I don’t like some of the things he did), I find him to be a very interesting character(from an artistic standpoint). While I don’t like his personality, I like how you could see him develop throughout Act 5 and I wished we got to see him more.
The thing about Eridan is that almost all of his negative traits can be easily be pinpointed as side-effects of the environment he grew up in. All of the trolls are more than a little strange in some way, and Eridan is simply the worst case of this. Similar to almost all of the trolls, Eridan struggled with low self-esteem, and in each of them, you can see various ways people go about coping with it. Tavros is extremely shy, Karkat is over-aggressive, and Equius and Eridan both resort to their high placement on the hemospectrum to maintain their dignity. This is especially evident in Eridan’s case: he has no psychic powers like Aradia, Sollux, Tavros, or Vriska; he doesn’t have super-strength like Equius; he can’t go into sunlight like Kanaya. Hell, even when flarping as a successful alter ego, he ended up getting steamrolled in a rivalry with Vriska. The only redeeming factor he has is how purple his blood is.
So that covers his racism, what about his unabashed romance-seeking? I think that wasn’t something that he had prior to entering the game. Think about it, because of his high blood color, he was able to talk to Feferi, the only person his “high status” would allow him to talk to, and a very amicable person too. After being Moirails for such a long time, it’s only natural that Eridan would crush on his only friend. But after being rejected based off of his racism (which is, remember, entirely founded on his only positive trait), he is absolutely devastated. Becoming desperate for friends or a partner, he ends up hitting on everyone else in the group.
Anyway, that’s just my theory, feel free to tell me if I’m wrong.
Yeah like, Eridan seemed like he was on the rebound. No one mentioned Eridan hitting on them before the game. Only after Feferi dumped him when they first entered the game.
