Thank you for this wonderful and musical performance. You play it just like I am teaching it to my Grade 8 student! I studied the piece many years ago when I was at university, and this is the first time I've had a student learn it. You've inspired me all over again. :)
That's wonderful you're feeling inspired! I hadn't actually looked at the piece since I had learned it for my own Grade 8 exam many years ago so it was a lovely rediscovery for me too!
Hey Jill, I'm doing Grade 8, and learning this piece, and in about 2 months I'll be doing my exam, so thank you for playing this beautiful piece, it really helps. ❤️
I fell in love with your expression in this piece and all the following grade8. thank you, very inspiring too - I am practicing while listening to you playing it - I wish I can play it like you one day
hey i have a question , im 18 yrs old , i have completed grade 3 in electronic keyboard 9 years ago , but then i switched into more of a pianist , i have pieces like bach prelude in g , turkish march as part of my repertoire... now I'm thinking of doing piano grade.. I'm fairly certain i can clear till grade 5 or 6 ..( i have been playing myself for the mean time).... i also have grade 4 in music theory, so now my question is do you think directly taking grade 8 is advisable or should i bridge the gaps?

I’ve listened to several versions and this is by far the best. I like it a little slower and it’s so expressive!
I always watch Jill Morton play when I'm practicing, it's really useful.
Am performing this in a concert this evening. I hope I can play it as expressively as you. Thank you Jill😊

I would do 6 first
How much does a sound knowledge of music theory help you learn pieces faster?
I think it is vital not only to help learn pieces more quickly but also to understand them and be able to play them with musical understanding.
