- Senior Tories have criticised Sir Keir Starmer over pay offers to train drivers and junior doctors, with James Cleverly claiming the Government has been “played by its union paymasters”.
In defence of the Government, Nick Thomas-Symonds said it was “sticking to the promises we made in opposition” in its deals with public sector workers.
Tory MP Chris Philp joins Talk’s Mike Graham to discuss this further.

lied about what exactly? I would never vote for Labour or Starmer. But he didn't lie, people vote for him and labour without doing research, as they normally do for any political party and politicians. We have first past the post, we did have a referendum on alternative vote in 2011, notice we never had vote on majority voting, hence why lib dems got more seats than refrom. Anyway reality is that the country is broke, and so he will look after his own paymasters. Those of us that can already moving assets out of the country. Those that live in expensive houses are going to get rinced as you cant move a house and it is very easy to find out who owns the house.

Farage will be really bad in some ways. Millions of unemployed will lose their benefits, but theres not enough jobs out there for people to get. What will these former unemployed people do then? Is not illegal to lie in Parliament - there has been a bill proposed to make it illegal more than once, but it has always been rejected.
You can theoretically be held 'In contempt of Parliament' for intentionally misleading the House, but the last time someone was fined for it was 1666.

The only thing that could possibly save the Conservatives and make them a possible alternative, and that would be to bring back Mr Johnson. I think he would be a totally different politician, having lost everything that he had worked for. He would be far more ruthless and use the iron fist that he concealed in the velvet glove, whilst he was Mayor of London. He was the only politician that the general public could relate to, and that scared his own party and the opposition.
I guess after 5 years if Britain survives it will set the labour government back for a few centuries, justifiably so.

I don’t even get a quarter of that. My state pension is not even £10,500. I paid into private pensions as well and they don’t take me up to another £5,000. I would even settle for £20,000.

Doesn't make sense at all. Train drivers are already earning well over £60k a year, but demanding more money. How many of you are earning anywhere near that amount, and why on earth do they deserve anymore than any other British worker. This is absolutely insane!
