Hello my friend, thank you very much always for your contributions .. Could you make a video where you teach how to stretch a chain of our beloved bike?
What are your thoughts on cleaning the chain with Kerosene and using 90 weight gear oil for lubrication? I recently watched a video by Fortnine where he goes in detail about it.
Yes I watched the same video, but again everyone has preferences to what they use. Kerosene is a good cleaner as it is oil based, same can be said for diesel. When I lived in Scotland I used to clean and spray my bike with diesel in the winter to stop the chain and bike from rusting. It really doesn't matter what you clean the chain with as you will spray it on then wipe it off with the dirt, so whatever you use wont be on the chain that long. As for lubricating?, I have tried a heavy gear oil, but no matter how heavy the oil is it will splatter all over the back of the bike. I find the best chain lube is Bel Ray Chain Lube as it is none fling so it doesn't end up all over your bike, also it is white so you wont over spray and you can see where you started spraying from. Every 500k I do mine, I clean it with WD40, wipe off and use Bel Ray. Often though I will wash the bike with the pressure washer, lightly wash the chain taking care not to put pressure where the rubber seals are,, then once the bike and chain is dry I spray lube. Ass you want to do in cleaning is knock off the worst of the grime which a wash does,,, Cheers
Great job Dan.... I have the R and your videos have helped me a lot, I appreciate and thank you the time and effort that you put on it. Subscribed
Thanks, much appreciated,,

Quick comment: lubing the chain on the outside is just going to make it fly away right? I always was told to lube on the inside
You could be correct, But I use that none fling stuff alot of the time. The only reason you need to do the outside is to stop rusting,,
Getting the grease off of your backwheel with wd40 is fine but use a clean cloth the next time 😂😂😂
don't you think it's a bit tedious when you're touring for thousands of kms, and have to do chain maintenance every 500 kms. ? how do we manage this?
You bring a can of lube with you and a brush
My wife made a lovely shepherds pie for tea
Now did she use Lamb mince or Beef mince, ? Lamb means shepherd's pie and beef means Cottage pie,, lol
Wd40..is like using swet for lube
Did you watch all the video? WD40 is for cleaning dirt and grit off the chain, the BelRay is used to re-grease the chain. WD40 is not lube,,
WD40 effects rubber seals.
No it doesnt,, a myth that has been proven wrong time and time again,,
