Don't worry about your Dior brush. If this part with a bristle is made with metal you can simply heat it over the flame for a while and then quickly put the wooden handle into this hot cap. The glue inside the metal cap will melt and glue both parts. Metal can be covered with a soot but you easily wipe it off with a tissue :)
Hopefully you know what I mean.
