I have this!!! I had a stroke 17years ago when I was 22. I am still experiencing vertigo and headaches, and I still do not have any fine motor in my left hand. Neuro ordered a new MRI, and this is what was found.

Thank you for this. My basilar artery is virtually non-existent on my MRI. It wasn't done with contrast though. I did it (out of pocket) because I've been suffering sexual and cognitive dysfunction for over 14 months since I took Ritalin for a week. Currently it feels like if blood is struggling to get through to my brain, I can hear crackling and popping inside my brain as I try and focus and the blockage gets broken through. Should I be concerned?

I also did a RMN without contrast and my basilar artery was non-existent, because it can not be seen virtually if you do the test with no contrast. When I did the same test with contrast the result came "basilar artery fenestration", so if you are scared that you might have some issues my advice is to retake the MRI or a RMN with contrast. About the crackling and popping inside the brain I feel the same thing :( it also hurts sometimes, I feel it in the back of my head. My advice is to go to a neurologist just to be sure that you are alright. I did go to a neurologist and I found out that I have some cracks (I don't know how to explain that in English, but my the membrane on the brain randomly fissured) inside my brain, in the fronto-parietal region and I also have Thrombophlia...so my advice for you is to go to a doctor and make sure that you are okay! I hope you don't have the same complications as I do, but I just wanted to let you know that problems may appear and you should check everything before is too late. Stay healthy!~
