    We love Paschal down here in Kentucky. Great locker room guy and teammate. And he can play anywhere on the line, can get after the QB and strong against the run. He’s not just an edge rusher. He tore up the best O-linemen in the country all season.

    Thank you bro for some actual content. Much better than listening to Ermanni and Maz on Woodward saying we should have drafted a QB instead with our third pick.

    Love this pick, and love your analysis of it. More of this sort of thing please. If you have the time, a deep dive like this into Houston, Rodriguez, or the tight end we drafted would be appreciated. It seems like Holmes & Co are putting a ton of emphasis into high character players that weren't in the traditional spotlight. From what I can tell, all of the picks this draft past the first round have really high upsides in niche roles - guys that don't really fit the exact mould of whatever position, but work super hard to be great at their job despite their limitations. I'm excited to see how we use these guys, and I'm rooting for them to succeed- even if I don't fully understand their fit in the scheme. For once, I truly believe in the front office, and I think they have an actual long term plan for success. It's wild.

    We needed to double dip at DL , in the NFL you gotta get after the QB with 4 guys so I like the way Brad Holmes is building the team. O line good shape, D Line getting better. WR core getting good , RB good enough. Secondary talented need to stay healthy. Next year I could see him addressing the QB possibly and then the LB core and get some BPA where we can.

    I worry that making him add pounds will hurt his production. We run 3 linemen and 4 LBs at UK. He is in effect a heavy duty ILB. Look at how the Jags screwed Josh Allen. He playes better as an OLB. Keep him lean, put him in the middle and let him clog the underneath and run delayed blitzes.

  • @ericscottstevens
    @ericscottstevens 2 года назад +1

    He was a 4 star recruit coming out of high school, sought after by the top schools. Chose UK because his brother TraVaughn played there. Judging by his SEC resume Josh is on a natural progression to the NFL for a quality next step, or the odds say he will. How many former 4 or 5 star HS players are on the Lions roster? probably not enough as usual. Yes, star rating out of HS is not always a guarantee as players less than 4 stars progress into stardom in the NFL. But still 4 -5 star HS already demonstrates players who are ready in 3 or 4 years for the NFL if they do not spaz out or are victims of poor coaching or lackluster team play.
    I have viewed some Paschal's tape, his first step / first hand moves are phenomenal. One play he was late off the snap, still split the guard and tackle and was blew up a running play.

      @@spiritofdetroitpodcast Interestingly enough Our Lady of Good Counsel High School had Josh playing TE also in situational plays. No one could cover him on the seam route and had two long TDs with great awareness catching the ball. He was a man among teenagers in his HS years. I would expect Detroit to use Josh as a TE in the goal line formations as he is that physical getting a punch into the line and soft hands to catch the ball.

    I like him a lot. Injuries certainly slowed his progress but the man is what I thought he was. First and foremost, he’s a mudder, down in the trenches doing the dirty work. He gets that edge and takes a pounding to do it. His teammates get the glory and he doesn’t get a mention.
