How MC Hammer Lost His Millions

  • MC Hammer was once worth $70 million, but excessive spending and a floundering career led to huge financial problems for the famous rapper. MC Hammer spent millions at the height of his career and didn’t save anything. He spent so much that he soon found himself $14 million in debt. MC Hammer’s luxurious mansion featured a gold hot tub, gold toilet, marble statues, and even a swimming pool shaped like MC Hammer’s iconic parachute pants. MC Hammer’s spending problems soon got the best of him and he was forced to sell all his possessions and file for bankruptcy protection in 1996. His former mansion ended up selling for just $5.3 million, which was far less than what MC Hammer had paid for the property. MC Hammer spent millions of thoroughbred horses and expensive supercars. Each of MC Hammer’s horses cost a minimum of $250,000 and many had price tags much closer to $1 million. His horse Dance Floor cost about $1 million. Not surprising considering the colt placed 3rd at the 1992 Kentucky Derby. MC Hammer’s horse Lite Light won the Kentucky Oaks in 1991 and was estimated to be worth $1,231,596. He also owned two helicopters, a private jet, and a luxuruous stretch limo. MC Hammer’s financial problem continued for years. The IRS even came after him for back taxes and MC Hammer had to pay up. Despite all this, MC Hammer didn’t give up. His fortune was gone but he kept going. He eventually started to see success again and now he’s worth about $1.7 million. Keep watching to see how MC Hammer blew his massive fortune.

The tone in this video is distasteful and disrespectful. Hammer accomplished more in 4 years than anyone associated with this video. Respect the fact he wanted to help his whole neighborhood. Then you mentioned one hit wonder wtf!!?! The man had several smash hits.

Notice that when you are big and live extravagantly, you hear people owing taxes. There's no way MC Hammer is only worth 1.4 mil. But the public knowing that keeps the government looking away. Smartest thing he ever did was changing the facade. The man is quietly rich, which means he learned to turn down the lights.

Thea has never been in such a comfortable vehicle. Since my father died, I was entrusted with the responsibility of the family. The money I earn from my job is not enough for my mother and me to live on. We are both hungry most of the day. Sometimes we go hungry for two days straight🥺 Our house is getting wet due to the prevailing rains these days. We are living a very difficult life. I hope someone who sees this will help us. Thank you for the info. In my books, he is still THE HAMMER! I'm yet to find one musician who can perform an intricate dance move and rap at the top of their voices like THE HAMMER.
He may have blown out all his millions but by God was successful! And how
do we measure a man's success? I think he ticked all the boxes in the criteria;-
    1. He lived a life many of us can only dream of - larger than life.
    2. He is the ARCHITECT of the rap dance Revolution.
    3. A collosal entourage - he paid them well. People who worked for him were comfortable - contrast that conglomerates that pay their workers peanuts and keep the rest for themselves.
    4. He had a massive financial free-fall (Tom Petty - RIP) and bounced right back - keeping afloat, it could have been worse; doing some menial jobs ..
    5. He still makes the world a happy place - we are still dancing to his music
My bucket list includes having a signed photo of him on stage ... True genius! My ICON!

Yes, he was reckless with money back in the day BUT, Hammer is actually a really smart dude. I don't say that lightly, either. Saw him posting about Algorand on Twitter. Algorand is a cutting edge blockchain network founded by a Turing Award winning cryptographer. If he understands how cutting edge Algorand is then he must have a pretty good understanding of blockchain tech.
