Great review! I am happy I discovered your channel yesterday. I love how chill and on-point your reviews are plus you showcase all the cool gadgets that I and perhaps many people haven’t seen before. 🙏🏼😌✨
I’ve had this bike for a few months. It’s generally good, but damn, it’s heavy (as you mentioned) I’m glad I’m moving to a flat next month which has an elevator and I won’t have to carry it upstairs anymore!
Small note: the rear light works with batteries (this is why it opens manually and not by a button) and will thus work even when you have no energy left.
Might be worth noting that there is a difference in legality based on the right registration. E-Bikes up till 25km/h without full auto mode are fine. All E-Bikes with full auto mode, regardless of speed, need to be registered as "snorfiets" and are therefore required to have a blue licenseplate. Which makes them subject to more requirements, f.e. helmet and specific demands regarding functionality like lighting, mirrors and what not (don't know the exact specs). So not necessarily illegal, but subject to further requirements.
This bike has a throttle handle and it can go on full electric mode without pedalling (altough you need to set it in motion first, either by pushing, pedaling, gravity, etc.). The presence of a throttle handle no longer qualifies this as an electric bike on some (all?) EU countries. Beware that some bike repair shops may refuse to accept this bike. (true story)
Why is an e scooter banned? I prefer it because i can take it with me in a coffee shop or office ... Unlike an ebike that can be stolen... This law is just That dumb.
I am looking for an alternative to the Brompton electric that I love. Can you drive it as a bike, only with the lights on, using the gears on flat terrains and the electric assistance only on hills. That's what I am looking for. A good foldable bike that can also be electrical in my hilly city, but doesnt't need to be.
Im thinking about purchasing the bike. What do you think can be done about the seat? I also live in the Netherlands and they stole my seat more than once! Thanks!!
So you are legal to drive in pedal assistance, or low lvl, but you are illegal to drive in mid and high mode, where the gas handle is used. How do you explain to traffic police in Netherlands that you drive ONLY in low mode?😕 I have the same dillema here in Germany. I see only way round to be removed the gas handle and replace with ordinary handle.
You can't explain that to the Police. Either you remove/replace the handle (I wonder if low/medium assist mode still works after that) or register it as a different kind of vehicle (license plate, etc.)
Hi there, please confirm is the top speed without any pedalling / so pure electric mode - is 25kph??? Haha also white or grey color... which looks better in person. Thanks!

Just a correction, the tail light doesn't use the bike's battery power, it works with two AA batteries if I am not mistaken.
True, got a bit too excited when recording and didn't notice my mistake there.. Apologies!

Yep. This device sits in a legal gray area.
I guess the problem is that throttle handle (and/or the full electric mode).

Maybe Xaoimi will come up with the technology that it will generate power and store that energy to the battery while pedalling or on a downhill.🤔
