Sooner have a sequel with same battle mechanics
No, all games have room for improvement.
Example 1: Amarant, he needs a lot more development. And the game needs a couple of events involving him and Zidane that actually cement a "friendship". That is his thing, but those ties btween them never felt that deep.
Example 2: The moogle delivery quests need some type of tracker and a better reward (like outfits).
Example 3: More outfits for all characters. And it should work outside of combat. And I am not asking for ridiculous or fanservice outfits. Just more variety.
Example 4: Expand Zidane's "You are not Alone" moment. There is so much that it can be done here. But it would take to many lines to explain.
Example 5: Beatrix story. She had no problem killing indiscriminately. Was even arrogant. But then she becomes "good". If they are going to turn her good she should have been conflicted for her actions thru the whole story, not just when Garnet was in danger. She is also shown to be OP, but when she turns good she isnt OP anymore. Maybe dont maker to OP to begin with(she can still be the best warrior).
Example 6: Zidane supposedly growing powers. He is said he was about to surpass Kuja and whatnot. But this doesnt reflect in the game. We should experience his "rare" and continous growth in power thru the game. Maybe thru scenes where he uses trance to tell that he cant be OP all the time.
I would love a 1:1 remake but with the Memoria Project's graphics; I don't have many notes like ^^ because I thought it was a nigh perfect game when I played it as a kid. If too much were changed I think it'd ruin the original experience for me.
@@blueberries254 My first experience with it was also as a kid. And it was perfect back then. But your mind is not the same when you become an adult. You start picking in omissions, plotholes, scenes with lack of nuance, etc.
I replayed it on PC as a 30 year-old. The game is still pretty good. And with the fantastic Moguri MOD, graphics are not an issue. But it doesn't hold as a 10 out 10 game anymore.
FF IX world is so huge and beautifulll they could put in the remake 1000 more secrets and bosses and items and enemies , i wish they make a remake thats 100% true to the originial ofc with some changes to battles , voiceover , extra cutscenes, more lore, more secrets etc, if back then this game wouldnt be held back by technology it would have been so much better, but it was perfect anyway. I love FF VIII and FF X also , but FF IX is on a different level, people that made it loved the game , its psx1 masterpiece
IX is my favorite game of all time. No need for a 7 style remake but it also doesn’t need to be a pure 1:1. Update the graphics, scope/scale of the world and locations. Keep turn based but alter the trance so it’s not random.
As far as additions just add more depth to the quests and also explore Amarant and Freya more.

What I’m saying is SE doesn’t need to alter the art style.
Also, SE doesn’t need to make a huge open world to further expand locations and depth.
HOWEVER!
IX has the chocobo hot and cold quest and multi colored/skill chocos. So maybe a bigger world with more depth would be needed.
Also, and I have the same thought with 7 remake….how does SE implement the air ship? As far as rebirth it doesn’t have a world where it could land anywhere, so part 3 will have a very different approach to world design if we are able to fly the highwind.
IXs world design would need to be based on flying and landing an airship from the get to.
Hmm so maybe an open world make sense.
Trance should be completely reworked whatever they choose to do
Forgive me if I'm getting wires crossed, but didn't Trance have multiple unlockable Trance gauge charge modes? I don't remember it being an issue to fill the gauge
@@CoachAndrew77 the main issue with Trance is that when the gauge is full it actives. It cannot be carried over nor can the player select to use it or not. So if your character enters trance towards the end of a basic battle it is basically wasted as the bar will reset after the battle.
High Tide is the skill to hasten the gauge build up but it doesn’t take away the other issue(s) above.
Hope FF9 gets a remake and stays true to what happened in the original story. No alternate timeline/multiverse crap
I think that'll be exclusive to the 7 franchise because the plot allows it. Sephiroth's connection the lifestream makes it possible. FF9 for example has nothing like that (as far as I remember, could be wrong)

The art direction with the pre-rendered environments in PS1 FF games make for a highly detailed setting. It’s going to be very difficult to translate this amount of detail in a 3D game with a scaled back budget. I definitely have concerns because this is a huge game.
I agree! But a scaled back budget from 7 remake could still be a large budget lol.
@@Pparty_Gaming It needs a step up from a Ni No Kuni level of budget, time and hardware adjusted. I wonder at that point if it’s just a AAA game.

The biggest hurdle is the transition from pre-rendered backgrounds with artist touch to realtime 3D. I don’t see them doing well on this without big budget really.

I still hope we can see something soon. It was obvious we would never have seen anything before Rebirth, but I still hope for a SummerGamesFest or TGS 2024 reveal. The animated series is 100% coming at least because it was indirectly confirmed by Cyber Studios multiple times.
Id prefer a ff7 style remake in the sense that the battle system and exploration be similar. don't need the story change. if its just a remaster situation ill be disappointed.
If they're not going to make a remake as detailed and with budget as FF7, it doesn't make ANY sense at all!!!

Tbh im a massive fan of ff7 remakes combat so ideally id like for this remake to also go for that more ambitious route, , whoever i know most people would prefer a turn based remake and at this point im so engrossed by the worlds this series is able to provide that il play it either way. Wish ive found final fantasy series sooner, ive been missing out on such great stuff
I hope it's closer to a remaster with expanded content but with realistic proportions for character designs like FFXII:TZA or Dissidia. Anything but the Memoria Project chibi aesthetic and I'll be happy.
All I care about is that it is still turn based, add some new stuff, and fix some issues I have like the bad stat growth(especially HP) at the mid to high levels.
Yoahi p already hinted it in the FFXIV Dawntrail release date announcement. He wanted to keep it a secret. Fingers crossed this is happening🎉
Good news and bad news. Good news is that we are going to got a quality remake ven though not AAA treatment or not the same scale as FF7R. Bad news is we gotta wait a long time. Anyway good job on keeping us updated.

Honestly a ported meguri mod version of ff9 for consoles along with quality of life like much faster load times into combat and combat speed up and stuff I would be more than happy with. Hopefully make some nice changes like get rid of trance being an automatic use and stuff. Maybe add in some optional areas/bosses and stuff.

Honestly if they just remake the game in the style of bravely default (still 3d but uses hand drawn backgrounds and modern lighting) i could see could a third party could handle it well.

FF IX deserves the remake! However it need few changes! A 1:1 re-skin alike remake won't change much imo, besides graphic update, which... is kinda pointless because of the graphical artstyle is there old or not! What I really want to see is a more complete story for the side characters, like Freya and Amaranth. One is almost forgotten after 1/3 of the game the other is... Well technically I always wanted Lani more into the team, basically much more interresting for me. And that comes from someone who loved Amaranth tho!
What is funny to me, that they even made every single animation for Lani! Like she was just cut out from the game and left her untouched after her part. The character mod made by Tirlititi also proved my thoghts. I am currently discovered this mod (I know it was out long ago!), and yes every move of her is generated down like a normal party member. The only thing which was not made ofcourse is the weapon skin changes, but that is a lesser thing.
So yea.. long story short. Make a remaster, do more story even for the side characters or make certain characters like Blank, Marcus, Lani, Fratley, Beatrix playable!
I’m 100% all for making changes when appropriate to make the story pacing smoother. But don’t change ANY main story plots. Same goes with the combat; hope it’s turn-based but a more modern take on the system

Seriously Final Fantasy 9 remake does not need to happen they need to do a reskin keep the story the same as voice actors keep the combat almost exactly the same but speed it up I don't know how they're going to manage because I think it should still be turn-based less Dynamic than ff7 most people are saying it should be extremely faithful and not make many turns so I agree with that because Final Fantasy 9 looks good I mean the cinematics are pretty much like the graphics of today give or take 5 years it's just when you're running around it doesn't look as good but it kind of does look like a Little Chibi thing from today

FF9 is waaaay too big of a world to remake modern into one title. Treno. Lindblum. The world map…. It’s as big as FF7. Might me larger. This is 10 years off
I'm hoping Final Fantasy IX remake is like Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in terms of gameplay, art style, open world, and size of content. Though keep true to the story and only beef things up just to make things more realistic and less awkward to newcomers. I hope they also have airship and travel and gameplay in too. Take a page of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag for the airship gameplay but expand it to sky travel.
Ff9 estatic world and characters have been written and drawn verry differently from ff7 copying the grafs and pasting them on another ff is not that enyojable as a consumer. The art style for ff9 will be vastly different i hope.

A proper faithful ff7 remake would be best but unfortunately we will never get that. I think the only ff that needs to be remade at this point is ff6 and maybe ff5. 8 maybe but it still plays fine.

@@NoxLegend1 Yeah, me too. A proper Remake of FFVII. Been wanting that since not only because of the PS3 Tech Demo from almost 20 years ago, but because of Fan Mods for the PC Version back in 2007-2008.
But I felt that the filler in-between after Tifa and Marlene are introduced and before getting on the train to the Sector 5 Reactor was necessary because in the original I don't have enough Gil to get all the Materia before heading to the reactor.
And I think FFI and FFIV should be Remade in modern Graphics.

It would be nice if current Square and its studios were capable of making new FFs that live up to the ones in the past to where remakes werent needed. FF7rem&reb is an acception to this because its amazing and technically sequals, but FF12-16 are mediocre af

I Don't OWN a PS5 so a remake would have to still be on the PS4/Switch.
Well I'm afraid to say that ain't happening. Ps4 is on it's death bed and if rumours are to be believed Nintendo is gearing up for their next console. On the plus side if this game does release it won't be for a while so by the time it comes out the ps5 might be closer to your price range.

Well… Better than nothing.
I don't ask for much from a remake/remaster, just 1. better graphics than I'd see by playing an existing version via an emulator (e.g. most of the pixel remasters look worse than the "anniversary edition" titles), and 2. at least as much gameplay content compared to existing versions (e.g. the action grid was basically removed in the Steam port of Secret of Mana, and Persona 3 Reload released sans a couple major features available in the much cheaper Persona 3 Portable)

So this like Pokemon Brillian Diamond/Shining Pearl where nothing was changed but an update to the current gen console. Not bad. I'm enjoying this more.
FF7 hardly looks like it has budget sometimes when you realize 90% of the models are basically clouds model. everyone's skinny, the same type of skinny at that.

Tbh i would have preferred a faithful ff7 remake not what we got, similar to the mobile game but i will settle for a faithful ff9 remake especially if it can all be done in one game release and not 3 parts.
They should just make this into a disney style movie its a better medium for the game. Then make ff6 into a hd 2d world I think thats the best business decision.

You haven't played many final fantasies is you don't think time travel and destiny isnt a recurring motif in the franchise since the first game
