When Gambit did return to the airwaves in 1980 on NBC's incarnation, almost 4 years after the CBS version ended in 1976, the Gambit Board had 18 monitored screens when the show was taped at Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas after its move from CBS Television City in Hollywood, when the original Gambit Board had 21 Cards on there.
The status on both original and Las Vegas Gambit versions is uncertain whereas both CBS and NBC networks had ended their wiping policies at the time before the premiere of both versions under control by Fred Silverman. So Gambit could still be out there, somewhere.

9:00 what used to really piss me off was when a man amd woman were on a game show and when asked a question the man would literally shout out an answer without thinking of asking his wife!!!
Where's the "living deck" David Letterman promised us?
One of the better shows of the era - looking at the prize bank DEFINITELY dated the show well. Still exceptional fun after 30 plus years.
O I wish this show was still around. I own 2 replica Gambit decks! When I leave this world I'm taking them with me!

Those backdrops behind the contestants are leaps and bounds better than the ones in the later episodes.
Wheel of Fortune, Password Plus, Card Sharks, Blockbusters, and Gambit were the games that made up the NBC daytime lineup in 1980.
What time did this show air?
@@jokerswildfan1972 IIRC, I think it was at 9:00 AM (central time, which is what I grew up in, in the Ozarks).
Couldn't have asked for a better lineup than that.

Where's the Living Deck?
Greg Palmer It took me seeing that episode too finally understand your comment. :P
I wonder how many Letterman fans wrote in about it, trolling as it were. ;P
Wish they used the theme that Harve Mann sang instead.
markofly76 Along with the living deck at the end.
I wish I had a deck of cards ♠️♥️♣️♦️ with those designs.
I definitely wasn't expecting those backdrops behind the contestants.
Made a nice touch! Too bad this version was only one season!
I like the center sections, but I think the outer borders could be slightly brighter to compliment the desks and winks podium.

Love this game. This could easily work with solo players against each other. In other words, one on one. 😎😎😎
It did... it's called "Catch 21" on GSN which is the revival of Gambit.

Was that Foster Brooks on the Muntz TV?
That’s the most 80s thing I’ve ever seen. And if they’re at the Tropicana, I’m Chuck E. Cheese.

4:03 the answer to that question; that woman didnt go far after the current show she was cohosting that was mentioned.
The Tropicana is now long gone, and razed up to be a new baseball field for the Athletics.

+Tubewings The $5,000 bonus is not bad, considering they gave a car on the original
Imagine if the late Jim Perry was hosting gambit in 1980
Not possible, since he was hosting Card Sharks on the same network
So the premiere started the 21 jackpot at 2500 during the premiere. When did it go back to 500 and up 500 a game until won.
It's the Las Vegas Gambit show
Nice try... but this was the Las Vegas Gambit show.
New game show called blockbusters after that.
It is a continuation of Gambit from CBS.

Here's the very first episode of Las Vegas Gambit, hosted by Wink Martindale and its aired October 27, 1980.

What a flop of a talk show for Mr. Letterman--96 episodes!
I'm surprised Las Vegas Gambit didn't do an episode from Cresco, IA too.
