Thank you so much for these tips! I just learned my hair type but couldn't figure out why my hair didn't look the way I expected with wash n God's. Once I realized it's because my hair is fine I couldn't find good advice until your channel. Stay blessed!
Thank you. This has been very helpful. I've just begun wearing wash & go's. I have fine, thin strands and I'm balding (hereditary), so braid-outs, twist-outs, cornrows don't work with my hair. It is so fine that taking them down causes a lot of tangling and breakage. The only safe protective style that I can wear is Marley twists - no more that 12 to 14 for my whole head. A real plus with wash & go's is that my husband likes the style and he can touch my hair.
Great tips for us fine hair girls. The problem for me is my curls, wash n go or twist out, marry one another and it is difficult to separate them on wash day. The result is tangling... Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!
ha! @ marrying one another. I totally get you. That's why I say not to go too many days before washing again and definitely keeping those hairs clumped. When you wash, do you detangle first or do you just run the warm water? Try the opposite of what you're doing and see if that helps
Fine Natural Hair and Faith I dampen my hair in sections and use an oil mix to lightly detangle with my fingers. I work at trying to keep my hair somewhat stretched, which really helps with the tangles. So, you think I might try wetting my hair to help loosen the clumping? Thank you for your response.
Rina Wallace hey yes when ready to wash, work in Sections, spritz, finger detangle some and then use a detangling comb or brush line Felicia Leatherwood’s / gives with the hair so it doesn’t break
@@FineNaturalHairandFaith I have the Tangle Buster (I think???) and most recently, the Felicia Leatherwood. And, I have come to the conclusion that my hair is not in the best shape to use a brush. I lose too much hair, no matter what. :-( So, I have decided to go back to mostly finger detangling and incorporating my wide tooth comb. Also, finally received shipmen of Niche protein conditioner, leave in and butter, so I will use them when I wash my hair. Been sick with the flu; missed the whole Christmas prep and celebration! So, I also missed my weekly wash day... I am truly hoping that my hair responds well to the new protein conditioner and stops shedding before I go bald! Happy 2020 to you, CJ and your family!
Wowwwww ladies, I thought MY strands were the only ones in UNHOLY matrimony! 😭 Last week my hair gave birth to a little tangled ball of shed hair on wash day, and I almost died! I haaaaate seeing that!!! I used to detangle before washing, so I'm gonna go back to that. Thanks so much for the tip about doing the opposite of what we've been doing, Michelle!
Hello friend and welcome back. I have to braid my hair for a wash and go. If not I end up with a shrunken tangled mess. As always you give magnificent tips for our hair type. Have a very merry Christmas and wonderful New Year!!!
I am the opposite braiding or twisting my fine high porosity hair it gets tangled. I wear wash and go's almost exclusively. I put lotion in my hair daily just like my dry skin.
Hey it's good to see you. Hope everyone's well. Your hair looks so thick and I'm still afraid to try wash and go but I will need to practice soon. I am wishing you, CJ , and the rest of your family a very merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
This is helping me so much. I just gave up on wash and gos cuz I was getting so many KNOTS. But I was trying to make them last 7 days. So next time I do one, I’ll rewash after 4 days.
My hair is fine but 4c tightly coiled. So it shrinks 75 ‰ or more. I'm on a journey with my trichologists. They don't like wash and go-s for my hair. They want me to keep it in 2 or 3 French braids or twists. I did wash and goes when I was on holiday because my hair was shorter and I washed/Co-washed it every day after swimming. Not sure my hair appreciates wash and goes in the winter either. A lot of shedding! Shedding equals more tangles. It's like my follicles go in to hibernation and lose my hair strands like leaves on a tree!
Hey I haven’t used in a bit. I mostly use henna and Amla. Fenugreek is in my stash and I will likely use more in the new year. Ive created diy hair spritzs with it in the past. Helps strengthen strands and may stimulate growth
Love all your video. I have to do wash and go because for some reason I cannot keep braids in my hair for a long period of time. Braids will give me an headache or my scalp does not lk it. I do not braid my hair too tight.
I’ve been trying to make my wash and gos last all week but they dry out. I refresh after day 3 and by day 7 my scalp is itching with build up. And my shedding is crazy perhaps due to over manipulation. Thank you for sharing this.
Hey i think your mistaken about tingling. What some people don't like about the wash and go is the shingling. Which is taking small amounts of hair and curling it around your finger and doing that over your whole head. No shade! OneLove
Thanks for the tips. I rarely do wash and go because of my schedule but when I have time, I will incorporate your tips
Really? To me it’s so fast to do a wash and go
Thanks and I hope you and your family have a merry Christmas!

Yes, Michelle minds the same way, fine hair, I been trying to find a good gel! Thank you for the gel tips!❤️❤️🌹

Sharon Delancy thanks! Merry Christmas 🎁
Have you just let the wash and go set til almost dry but then banded for stretch?
I braid almost dry hair for stretch, no banding.

hi! thank you. Maybe try a small section? Just the back. do a half up half down.
Have a very merry Christmas and New Year! I'll be back next week ;0)
@@FineNaturalHairandFaith good idea, I think I may try that on my break. I don't know why I thought I had to do my whole head! :-)

yeah some people can make them last longer but it can just be a disaster for those of us who tangle and dry out easily
Thank you for this video. I have thin hair too and I can never find RUclipsrs with hair similar to mine.
Great tips!👍🏾Especially washing every 4 days. If you do a protective style do you typically wait a week to wash again? Merry Christmas 🎄💜
thanks! for protective styles, I usually make them last a week. Very rare do I go beyond that because then the detangling is longer
It's so good to see you. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

Marley Hill stretching and Banding..:really helps with reducing tangles too. But if course listen to your hair
@@FineNaturalHairandFaith thanks for that tip! I will have to try it more....in the summer! Lol!
Really great tips. Do you happen to use fenugreek in your hair? If you do what are the benefits you have noticed? Also how do you use it? Thanks ❤

Did it work? are you using other things after you set the wash and go? You shouldn't need to if you use a good holding gel
Fine Natural Hair and Faith yes it really has helped. I have been getting to day 7 with less itchy scalp and still dealing with excessive shedding
Show us how you do your wash and go because your hair looks great.
Monique-Chicago thanks boo! Will do
Great video. What was full name for leave in by mane. Thanks

I think it’s because it takes so long but it does give defined curls 🤷🏽♀️
Your hair is very thick compared to mine ...thx
linda webster it’s the density but all the hairs are very thin (fine)
