    Imagine having the perfect actor who also knew exactly how your customer wanted your series to be produced, and instead of using that talent and insight, you get rid of him and let an incompetent producer destroy your incredibly expensive franchise.

      Emm . Sorry . Nope . Henry didn't look like geralt at all . Neither Liam . But dont call it perfect,just because you have thing of henry .

      @Youalrightboi nobody said Henry looks like Geralt. He was the perfect actor as in he loved the role, gave us a very good performance and knew the story. This is just a superhero version of the witcher, nobody asked for this.

      @malwinajandura8959 It's fair to say it was true. producers and writers said he was hard to work with - we know verifiably he was hard to work with specifically because he fought to keep things accurate to the source material, which the aforementioned producers and writers were straying from (demonstrably to the shows detriment)

      @malwinajandura8959 It is m8...at the end, he wanted to keep his integrity over screwed project...When he saw, that producers ignored him. Witcher books are perfect, no need to change things, fans do not want to change things. So what the hell....

      @JimEadon Henry Cavill wanted out and Netflix wanted to keep the show going. They made an offer to Liam Hemsworth. It's that simple. Not everyone is out to get ya, Jim. Leave your dirt road and you'll find there's more out there than mtn dew and chicken nuggies. Still using woke as an insult in 2025. Imagine. Get some culture. And I don't mean the kind in a petri dish.

    • @kptmaci4979
      @kptmaci4979 4 months ago +51

      I mean, yeah. The writing is shit. Books could be so easy to adapt and they are impactful / emotional. Everything basically that the show isnt since the very end of S1 where they messed up probably one of the most powerful moments from the books - where Geralt finds Ciri in the middle of nowhere in the time of war as part of Child Suprise law - AGAIN. Proving to him that somehow Ciri is special and destiny shit is real.
      In the show? They dont even know each other, their encounter is ridden of any emotion, as they mean nothing to one another.
      They messed up then and there already. If you dont care about characters and their relationships - something book they disregarded does great - why should viewers watch the show? There is no connection, no respect for source material they basically threw away entirely in S2 where Yen tries to murder Ciri for stupid reason - who in the books is basically her daughter. Yeah, its shit. Its actually astounding how much they managed to mess the story up - basically got rid of it in place of a cheap fanfic that accomplishes nothing better

      @kptmaci4979 The worst part was henry cavill took a 70 percent pay cut on the entire show because they promised him they could make it more accurate to the books if they just had more money. He was supposed to be payed 2.5 million per episode, he took 500k per episode and only took 1 million per episode for season 3 when he realized they were just fking him over

      Haha, I felt the same way Liam’s scowl looks so forced, like he’s trying way too hard to channel Geralt. If this was the scene they chose to showcase him, my hopes aren’t high. At least the Yrden Sign looked solid, though props team must’ve studied up at Kaer Morhen

    • @lerenard5110
      @lerenard5110 4 months ago +2

      Which is the complete opposite of what Geralt is supposed to be. Geralt isn't confident, he's prepared, but he's not stupid enough to know something will likely go wrong which it usually does. A lot of people from the stories actually think hes ugly due to his scars or treat him like an outcast because of what he is.

      Henry Cavill was the closest thing the show had to getting Geralt right. He clearly loved the books and gave it his all. But let’s not confuse his effort with the producers’ terrible decisions. The moment they started chasing ratings over story, the show went off the rails. Same is about to happen with House of the Dragons they are already showing the same signs - more focus on drama, cheap shock value, and sidelining what made the world great in the first place. When producers chase clicks instead of respecting the story, it’s only a matter of time before the magic disappears

    If you have to chose between replacing an entire production team who don't give a shit about source material and replacing one actor who does, do the former. It might seem costly and disruptive but it'll do wonders for your bottom line in the long run. Live and learn!

      The eff Henry tried. He's an actor, a mediocre one at that, he just did what he was told to do and got his payment for it -- more than any of us will ever earn in a lifetime. Cavill left because he wanted more money from bigger jobs in Hollywood like Superman, but it backfired on him.

    • @Quintus468
      @Quintus468 4 months ago +8

      @Sashimi1408 Henry may have even been fired for being impossible to work with, if you believe the rumors...which wouldn't shock me, given his behavior in interviews and how the other actors reacted to his leaving haha. And yeah. He's fine or whatever. I don't think he's been at all compelling as Geralt, and anyone who doesn't understand the protag is Ciri doesn't get Geralt.

Now the writing of the show is one thing it's crazy how bad they screwed that up but I'll say he looks the part it's not like they chose an actor that dosent look like geralt they did but well see how it goes .

Like Liam, I have nothing against the actor, but Regis is described as slim and sinewy with grey hair and a crooked nose in the books - not portly and bald. Neither Liam nor Laurence are right for their roles, and no amount of acting is going to suspend that disbelief.

      Henry Cavill has this sort of grace and elegance. Even when they had humorous moments in the show, he was still the witcher, not a parody of him.
      When Liam plays Thor, he seems kind of dumb or naive, like he's always making mistakes first before he learns. The Witcher is full of rich wisdom and experience. Thor... not so much. Kind of giving more ego than wisdom.
      I hope they learned from their mistakes and keep the Witcher what he truly is instead of what they want him to be. I hate when films take the title of an amazing series or video game and instead of giving it it's time to shine and making the fans happy - they change the whole plot or leave important details or change important events because they thought they could do better at telling a story that's already been written and adored.... Thus disappointing true fans, and showing us they're in it for the money rather than the passion. Henry knew what he was doing when he refused to give in to these parasites... and I and a lot of fans here honor him for that.
      If you're not a true fan of something you're recreating, just... stop.

    • @carontorliak2760
      @carontorliak2760 4 months ago +5

      Gotta respect him but also I feel a no name actor would have been better given the context. While I don't fully follow Liam, he is known in hollywood and may be better off without it, especially the ridicule he ahould have expected with the role. Ofc the producers wanted him since not only did he audition but because he is still somewhat famous which as you can see just by the engagement, will at least bring eyes to an expected mediocre ending.
      A fresh face, while not bringing much attention, may be able to get their big break and potentially be a better fit for the role over liam or even henry. The studio won't be flamed to shit as hard as they are now and those who would have watched the show anyway might discover a new actor to follow. I doubt far less people would watch it with a no name actor than Liam

    • @tsivilsඞ
      @tsivilsඞ 4 months ago +59

      The real problem with this show and so many shows is that they ARE trying to be the next GOT and end up sacrificing their own identity. Rings of power, the Witcher, etc. All of these types of shows wanted to be the next GOT but in the process, they lost a lot of the original draw of the stories they are adapting.
      The Witcher series is just so unfaithful. Do yourself a favor and listen to the audio books for free on RUclips. The original books are so good, they didn't need to be game of thrones. They needed to be the Witcher.

    It’s disgusting when show-runners run a perfectly good plot into the ground. They’ve all stated they hated the story and have actively worked to destroy everything that made it unique and special. All you had to do was stick to source material but instead they fail to make anything of resemblance to the Witcher. I wish they’d make their own series and leave masterpieces like the Witcher alone. but I know without a doubt no one would take interest in any of their original creations. which is probably why they latched onto a series with a strong fan base. Like parasites they obliterate everything fans liked about it. They really need to stay out of our communities. If you’re not a fan? That’s fine but don’t put your hand to the franchises that deserve to be represented correctly.

    • @blipmachine
      @blipmachine 3 months ago

      The showrunners actually value originality and “elevating” the source material to the next level. Henry’s imagination and ambition was sadly limited to the source material. He couldn’t “think big”, which is exactly what Netflix executives excel at. With Liam at the helm, it’s an exciting time for Witcher fans to see where the story goes next.

      @blipmachine I assume you're being sarcastic. But just in case you are not: putting today's demographic in a medieval European setting is not 'elevating things to a next level', it is simply ridiculing it. If you are not a fan of the source material: fine, write something of your own.
