Hey, Sowards! Just wanna say I’m so proud of yall. I know this is a beautiful community and I don’t think you get many negative comments, but just in case anyone is throwing any shade your way and being jealous of your beautiful life, I want you to know that I’ve watched you guys come up from very little. And it encourages me and blesses my heart to see how much the Lord has blessed you with because of your hard work and dedication. I don’t see these videos and think “must be nice” I see these videos and think “that’s a worthy family and they deserve this” and I pray that I can also do a lot with my “little” to grow it into something awesome, God willing. Whatever that looks like. Anyways just wanted to tell you that. I bless you ❤

So my parents are Deaf, and i am an interpreter! And your 🤟 absolutely made my heart happy! That sign is used alot in Goodbyes, and in many group photographs. Its not used in a romantic sense but between friends, family, etc. We hug each other, and some say “love you” as we part. That sign is used in the same way.
The concrete lends the ability for bouncing balls!!! Yall are the best!!!😊❤🤟

My mom taught us "I love you" in sign language so that when she dropped us off at daycare, we could watch her leave and we would sign "I love you" to each other.

I do miss the weekly garden vlogs as well as the harvest videos. One of my favorite images I think about is the dinning room table covered in tomatoes at the last farm. I think it's the cover photo to the video even. Seeing the harvests got me so inspired to turn the waiting room into my classroom.

You getting the house in order helped me realize that I wasn't making good use of my house right now. So focused on the outside stuff in the couple years since I moved in that I neglected to make the inside truely functional. I got the kitchen started this weekend and I will keep going room by room. Thanks for the kick in the butt to get me started. Love the sea of concrete. Can't wait to see what you and the kids design into the space. I hope Melia comes and helps!

Ms. Jessica, it's truly a gift from God seeing what you and Jeremiah have done with His gifts. I had a quick flashback seeing you take us for a garden door throught the rose colored door into your garden in Arkansas. From that almost soiless garden area to this 27 acre haven is amazing. btw, I have been asked by a local teacher to come to her 6th, 7th, and 8th grade class to teach beginning sign language. What fun. Sometimes, not all the time, God asks us to use gifts we don't even realize we have. Who knew? God bless your homestead.

We had one growing up too. Made "city" streets out of chalk to ride bikes. Then obstacle courses for skateboarding. And faux tennis courts via chaulk. And lots of basketball and sidewalk art in our teens and 20's. Then the grands played there. Such good times and memories!!!!

All my bush beans are coming on this week and I plan to can, freeze, pickle and possibly ferment.

Years ago, I ran two marathons. All my kids were still home and two were under ten. My strategy for long runs were to start before sunrise to get home right after they woke up. I decided to run the C&O Canal one Saturday. I ran in the pitch dark with a headlamp. I could see something skitter out of the way every once in awhile, but the most disconcerting thing was running through a huge spider web. It felt like it enveloped my whole head. I started after sunrise from then on.

My bush beans I harvest from every other day for a month and half, and then they take a break and bloom and produce again. But if you don't keep picking them they take on the attitude of"I can slow down". Kinda like deadheading flowers, if you keep up with the picking it causes more production.
