I have been listening to these works by Gurdjieff (initially played by Keith Jarrett) since the middle '80's. They only become more profound containing and leveling out transcendent experiences of the greatest sorrow and pain or the most sublime joy and bliss, always enabling 'sobriety' and consciousness. Forever grateful - Namaste with love, Arohanui sisters and brothers . . . M
Composed by : GI Gurdjieff - Thomas de Hartmann (from folk songs) Piano : Alain Kremski (www.kremski.fr) Label : Naïve (www.naive.fr ) CDs are currently unavailable. Enjoy the full albums (vol 01 to vol 12) on youtube! Willing to play this music? Piano sheet music available at Schott Music
Hello ! Let me thank you first to make this marvel available for us ! You mentioned Schott Musik ,- which one of the 4 Volumes to choose from is the volume to buy if one was interested in (learning how to ) playing this tunes ? Namaste´ Johannes
Its a bit complicated, because Alain plays a mix. There are 4 volumes of piano books ( and not hard to play which is fantastic!) I just bought 'Asian Songs and Rhythms' which has a lot of songs from Alain's Meditation Vol 4 on it. So if you like the hymns, there is also a volume with the hymns, etc. Good luck!
View of Mount Lebanon, above the Kadisha Valley, Lebanon, engraving by M J Starling after a drawing by W H Bartlett, from La Siria e l'Asia minore illustrate (Syria and Asia Minor illustrated), by Giorgio Briano, 1841, Turin. All the illustrations of the Gurdjieff serie from Kremski are from such old historical/geographical books.
