My first team I was reserve for 3 weeks till one day they were short of players, so I was put on last, ended up winning us the match. First win we’d had all season
What a great video and a brilliant response to the previous video. This has definitely made me think once this isolation is over I’m going to seek out a local team. Thanks for this and keep up the good work. 👍🎯
I don't play in a league but I've been in a pub when they literally got the barmaid 'Big Bev' to have a game to fill the numbers up. Whenever I play a mate in pubs I usually get people asking me to join the pub's team. I play to a decent standard but they're not after my ability, they're after my reliability. I couldn't back then because of work but like you said, they want you there to make up the numbers more than anything. If you can play that's a bonus. Obviously as we go up in levels then ability comes in to it but you won't have to go far to find a pub who will take you on regardless of your ability.
100% spot on Luke. I despair when I see people say they don't play in a league because they don't think they'd be good enough to get in the team. Darts is participation first, ability 2nd at local level 👍🎯
@@DartsClass yep. You can literally have a 20 average and you'd be helping the team. A lot of leagues have a £5 fine if you don't have enough players. When this is over I am going to join a team now my nights have opened up. If anything it gets you out the house. I would recommend it to anyone thinking about it. Another top video mate. Keep them coming. Love this channel.
Again this shouldn't hold you back. Local league's are very supportive in allowing team mates to help you out whilst playing, and then when you're scoring the players will often tell you what they've hit and what they've got left. Don't let it hold you back 👍🎯
I played when i was younger, was pretty good to be honest. Now i picked it up and throw sometimes when i feel like it. Still can throw a 70+ avg and throwing a 180 almost daily. So i still got it. Love the game but i dont wanna play in a team again because of my work. Very different shifts and alot of shifts in the weekends. So now i play games with my 12yo son who also loves the game.
If your young enough, play if you can with that Ave, haven't played 20yrs, then lockdown came, got a board in garage, think I'm better now. Odd 180 now and again👍
I have only ever played at home, I pretty much average 50 against the CPU and my wife. I go through spells where iam averaging 70 odd. But I'm not consistent at that level really. 180s are fairly regular maybe 2 or 3 a week when playing for a couple of hours 4/5 days a week. I'd love to join a team but I've never really played under competition environments and wouldn't know where to start
a lot of teams look for players that can join in at short notice. If somebody has to work late or their kid is sick. When I was captain I always wanted another two guys who either were always in the pub or could come down quickly. The penalties for not having a full team can be worse than losing that match up. Most teams have some sort of informal practice- before the quiz, 5pm on a Friday or during the Sunday afternoon football. Pop down then, ask to play and you will be without a doubt be invited to join the team.
I did one the other day about what you need to know about joining, but the comments on that were from people who thought they weren't good enough to join, so I quickly knocked another together about how ability shouldn't be a barrier 👍🎯
Hey mate I make profile pics and thumbnails and I am a graphic designer. I love your channel because I'm just starting out at darts. I can make you a cool new pfp in return for a set of flights?
If you're happy to mock up some designs in your own time I'd be honoured. Obviously if I use any id make sure you'd get a shout out on here and twitter 👍
As soon as you get a load of pricks in a pub darts team, all wanting to win win win, and sit around a bottle of water all night, watch how quickly the landlord loses interest and the board comes down. Teams having a good drink and a bit of banter will be the teams that last.
Even more so if darts night is the only night the team is in the pub. My local's landlord told me up front when I ran a team- I want a winning team of people who drink in the pub and if I can't have both drinkers beat winners every time.

Good video thanks, one thing that puts me off is how slow I am at working out the maths

Sidcup Astral darts as long as you want to play whether you've played forever or never played you can join or make a team

Can you handle 5 pints? Your in
Exactly!
Well I hit the board, but losing almost everything is not very good for the confidence to play competitive darts

Didn't you make a video of this yesterday? Or is this an edited or pt2?

So yeah a part 2 basically 😊
Very well done sir. Thank you for sharing!
My pleasure. Thank you for watching
I thought I was quite good at darts i joined the summer league haven’t won a game yet and had 3 matches LOL
I don't even have a local darts league.
I’ll take a guess.....
“Better than me?”
Correct.

I'd take you up on that but I have no personalised stuff at all, let alone to giveaway 😕
Darts Class well I would be more than happy to do it for free?
