In order to use Mpesa (what is defenitly a must if you stay for two months in Kenya) you need to get a sim card of Safaricom. I use the app Remitly (link in description) in order to deposit money from my debit/credit card on Mpesa. Please note, Remitly marks up on the exchange rate and transaction with Mpesa are not free either. However, fees of Mpese are very low and remitly is the best and cheapest service I could find so far. This method will be cheaper than traditional bank fees.
